Windows will not remain in mode 'sleep'

My guess is that there is a task is scheduled during the time that I put my computer into sleep mode.  When I say not to go in standby mode, it will often directly go into "locked" mode only.  Another problem I had is that there was a time where the computer would go to standby very well, but when I went to use the computer the next day, I would find the office running, meaning not in locked mode or "standby mode".  I have tasks scheduled for a few nights, but another thing I'm wondering is, when the task is complete, it's supposed to go naturally in mode 'sleep' if I allowed him to sleep when he is silent for a certain period of time, including when a task is completed, even if the task brought the computer out of sleep for the task.  Help!

  • Hard drives will not remain in mode 'sleep'

For two weeks, something strange happens. My hard drives in sleep mode and out instantly. They will not remain in mode 'sleep'. Any hour of delay, I place, they will behave like this. So even if I place a time to sleep 1 minute, you will hear them go to sleep and instantly out every minute, without interruption. It's used to work perfectly before for months. I have not installed anything again (with the exception of Windows updates). I checked with performance monitor, if something is accessing the disks, but there is no drive activity whatsoever. I also tried to stop the process as much as possible, but that did not help either. The only thing I've changed three weeks ago was my graphics (Radeon 6850 to GTX580) but I'm not sure that the problem started then. Only two weeks ago, I noticed the issue. If anyone else has experienced something like this?

Was given this same problem and I fixed it.  Check to make sure that she is not actually wake up!  In my case was wake the computer itself, but the graphics card was not.  I could hear the processor fan back, hard disks turn upward, but nothing on my screen.  In my BIOS, there is an option to do not allow the built-in graphics adapter sleep.  It was called "RC6 make Standby" and I turned it off - fixed!

  • My hard drive will not close in mode 'sleep'

My hard drive runs continuously when my iMac 2011 model is put into mode 'sleep' or expires in mode 'sleep'. I guess that's the drive I can hear something quietly spinning inside.and computer is a little warm. It started only in recent weeks. Before that, the computer has been completely silent and gave off no heat. the operating system is El Capitan.

    Hello, Blue Roses,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that you have a problem with the hard drive of your iMac running when your computer goes into mode 'sleep'. I know how it is important to make sure you slowed down your drive hard when you have to. I'll be more than happy to help you with this.

You can activate the option "Put hard drives to sleep when possible" in preferences energy saver of your iMac by following this path: Apple menu > System Preferences > energy saver > put a check mark next to hard drives was able to sleep when possible. Once you have enabled this, test and see if you get the same result with the rotation of the hard drive.

The following article contains more information on energy-saving preferences:

Preferences of OS X El Capitan: energy saving

If you still have a question after that, try to start your computer in safe mode and create a new user to see if you get the same result in both. This can help to identify the problem of the current user and the whole system. The following articles will help:

OS X El Capitan: start in safe mode

OS X El Capitan: set up users on your Mac.

    See you soon!

  • ThinkPad T60 8744 will not stay in mode 'sleep'.

I apologize if this question has already been addressed elsewhere in this forum; I looked at some length and any mention of it is found.

I had a problem recently with my ThinkPad T60 8744-5BU running Windows Vista Business SP1.  Whenever I put my laptop sleep (whether by closing the lid or using the combo Fn + F4), it will remain so for anywhere from 30 minutes.  At one point during the transport, the laptop comes out fashion 'sleep'.  It is very good and everything except that it is usually in one of these sleeves neoprene inside my bag Targus, which means that at the time when I get where I'm going, I could use it to make pancakes.

Because it always seems to happen while I'm away, I figured that maybe it was a problem with an Active Protection, but neutralizing him did not resolve the issue.

Has anyone run into this problem or heard of something similar?  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Ben

Hi sudz28! Welcome to the community of Sony!

I'm sorry for that matter. drtechno is right, a program or a scheduled task may be waking your computer. Please try this troubleshooting steps here:

To prevent programs wake up your computer

    1. open the power supply Options by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options.

    2. in the Select a power plan page, click change plan settings for the plan you want to change.

    3. on the change settings for the plan page, click change advanced power settings.

    4. on the Advanced Settings tab, expand sleep, Allow wake timers, select disable for both when your computer is running on battery and when it is plugged in, and then click OK.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • Computer will not remain in standby mode.

I have a computer with Windows XP, about 5 years old who often will not remain in standby mode. After 30-45 seconds it starts again and the display shows again the office.

Does anyone have a suggestion/recommendation what to do about it?

Thanks, any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hello JJLinker, welcome.

The issue is likely caused by "Wake by " settings in your power options. This gives a shot:

    1. click on START
    2. right click "My computer" and select "Properties".
"3. click on the tab"Hardware", then select Device Manager.
    4. expand the "Network adapters" category
    5. right click on each of the devices and select "Properties".
    6. on each, go to the tab "power management."
7 turn off the checkbox "allow this device to wake...". ' and click on 'Ok '.
    8. close all windows and restart the computer

  • : HP Quicktouch on screen has stopped working, computer will not remain once I connect.

So looking at the forums and everywhere on the internet, I know this problem starts because of an update that I installed it. But what I'm trying to understand why my computer will not remain after that window opens after I connect, because it restarts whenever I log in. I became extremely frustrated with this issue and I really don't know what to do. of course, there is the system restore, but that work? I can't find quicktouch in my list of programs to uninstall in safe mode, because this is the only mode that will allow me to stay very long. so if anyone has the answer please help me, it's super frustrating.

    Hi cavalierfanatic247,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

    Start on Safe Mode desktop.

Remove the update that caused the broadcast of programs and features in Control Panel by clicking View installed updates.

If you are not able to remove the update, use the utility window cleaning to remove the update. See the link below:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

If the steps above did not fix the problem, try to restore the system to a previous point before windows update when it worked fine.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

In the System Restore dialog box, click on choose another restore point and then click Next.

In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

You have an Essentials and HP drivers disk?

If the system restore is not enough, you can use the HP Essentials and the disk drivers to uninstall and reinstall the quick key.

    Click Finish.

    Hey @George5500,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand your JO 6830 unresponsive when it is in standby when you are using the Ethernet connection, but it does not occur when connected via USB.

We will perform a hard reset. To do this, leave the printer and unplug the power cable for 1 minute. While it is unplugged, press and hold the power button on the printer for 10-15 seconds to release built his power, then after the minute, plug the printer in. Also, even if you have used a surge protector/power bar this whole time and you feel this isn't the cause, please plug it in to a wall outlet so that we can eliminate the source of energy as the primary cause.   Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power
