Noron 360 sometimes cannot be started on Windows 8 when starting after a stop!
Hello
I have a desktop computer running Norton 360 first Edition version (current) 20.4.0.44 with the latest definitions for viruses on Microsoft Windows 8 Professional with Media Center. Norton 360 , sometimes fails to start on Windows 8 , when starting after a stop.
Since I first installed the new version of 'version-less' 2013 Norton 360 on Windows 8, it sometimes does not start at startup after a stop and did not bother to mobilize support for that matter because I thought that Symantec or Microsoft could be aware of the problem and that an update or a patch will be available soon. Norton 360 prompted me to apply a new patch today, and after applying the patch, I have realized that the amended version of the version 20.3.0.36 to version 20.4.0.44. Moreover, I also noticed that the aforesaid problem with Norton 360 persists, and if my memory is good, Norton 360 sometimes also does not start after the resumption of hibernation. I used to put the computer to sleep and I never have this issue when hybrid sleep. For Norton 360 upward and run again, I usually just give the computer a reboot.
I believe that the function "quick start" in power options Windows 8 are originally Norton 360 sometimes fails start. I haven't noticed this problem on computers that are running Windows XP or Windows 7. If Symantec or Microsoft may arrive at a solution to this problem without having to turn off the quick start of Windows 8feature, I would be very grateful!
Kind regards

Hi Doug,.
Kindly let me know what Norton product, you try to use, and if download you the latest version of the internet, or you install a version earlier than either downloaded or a disc? Please also post the specifications of your computer and operating system incl. architecture and the edition you are running.
Regarding your question: are you affected by the same problem that I did? Only Norton only lack of start from time to time, or Norton fails it run continuously?
If Norton sometimes does not start on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 8:
Disable the "quick start" function in Windows 8 by going to the bar of charms > settings > Panel > material and audio > Power Options > Choose this as the power button , then click on change settings that are currently unavailable, uncheck the enable fast start (recommended) and click on save changes. Restart your computer to test if Norton starts up. If Norton still does not start, uninstall Norton completely, restart your computer, download and run the latest version of Norton removal tool from Symantec website, computer restartyour once more. Then download the latest version of your Norton product either downloading the trial, or you connecting to your Norton account if you have a valid subscription and clicking on the button to download next to your subscription. Install the latest version of your Norton product and manually run the direct updated until all the updates and hotfixes without restarting have been installed and no updates are available before stopping or restarting your computer!

Satellite A500 - Windows won't start, how to get back now?
Hello guys,.
Recently, a week, I bought a new Satellite A500 - 1HK. I installed everything and after I installed Office 2007, after restarting my PC put on the Windows 7 Logo. PLS, please note that at this time one had a connected external HARD disk. It was my first mistake.
My second mistake was that after 5 minutes of inactivity, I turned off my PC (no closures) and that's it. My PC has crashed completely.
My third mistake was that I did not since the recovery disks, and unfortunately I don't have the recovery CD. The recovery program his on a partition separate from my laptop. I tried to solve the problem as follows: I start the PC, press F8 and I went into the repair menu. The first time after the repair, nothing had happened. After that, I tried to go to the recovery option. I choose the American language and press ENTER. Nothing had happened. the screen displays an error saying: you must login to access the System Recovery Options. If you encounter problems to connect, contact your administrator to the computer for help. Click ok to restart the computer.
The only thing I can imagine is that the recovery partition crashed also. What can I do now? I ordered alrweady the Toshiba restore CD and waits for the next 2 weeks.
What is your opinion. That's happened? I hope that the rexcovery program will work with CD and I don't face any problem, no more.Thank you.
LeonardosHey Buddy,
> I have ordered alrweady the Toshiba Recovery CD
So in my opinion, your question is already answered. Juice wait the Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings. If work HDD recovery doesn't, your only option is the Toshiba recovery disc and now it s time to wait. I m you will get the disk as soon as possible.
Good luck! :)

Updating Windows 8.1 KB2919355 has proved to be extremely problematic for me. When he was released at the beginning of 2014 that I was not able to get installed it with the exception of two occasions, the first being several months ago and the second time, a few days ago. I have constant pain to try to get the update of KB2919355 until recently. What finally got the update installed was opened as administrator command prompt and type the following commands,
DISM/Online/Remove - Package PackageNameackage_for_KB2919355 ~ 31bf3856ad364e35 ~ amd64 ~ ~ 6.3.1.14
and then
DISM / online/cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
So now, the update of KB2919355 has been installed. Only one problem: like the first time I had the installed, Windows Update leave commissioning. As the HP splash screen that normally appears during the startup process appears after about 3 seconds, Windows displays an error Stop, and for a fraction of a second will display SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error, which as I read, is related to the graphics drivers. The thing is, after the cancellation of the update (the computer in Mode safe start put Windows automatically uninstall the update and everything goes well after), then go in and uninstall the graphics driver, restart, reinstall the graphics driver and reboot again, and then reinstall the KB2919355 update, the problem recurs. I also tried to download and to install the new update of firmware for my particular DESIRE machine which was released a few days ago, but which has not helped either.
I'm really stuck. I looked up and down, and I scoured Internet for anything that might help. I need to update KB2919355 be installed because without it, I can't book my free upgrade of Windows 10. This laptop is about 2 years and a half old now, so it fulfills all the prerequisites for Windows 10.
Please do not suggest that I do a Refresh of the system or a system reset, as I have no way to back up my programs, that which some I would not be able to reinstall because I have more drives for some of my programs. Also, I can lose to save him for some of my games.
When people ask me "What's up?", I always say 'the CAP '.So that seems to have solved the problem that is described in this post here. I followed the suggestion, which was to uninstall the driver, SPDT DuplexSecure (which has something to do with the SCSI devices, I'm not quite sure) using the SPDTinst (download here) and now it seems that Windows has started without crashing after installing the update KB2919355. I'll check my Windows Update history and see if it is there.
Low and behold, a year to be really behind value is ultimately more. I have successfully obtained the update of KB2919355 works on my computer.

After I upgraded the RAM in my HP DV6 from 4 GB to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB Kingston KTA-MB1333 / 4G), Windows no longer starts. I get a blue screen and it keeps restarting.
I think that the memory specifications are similar to the Samsung M471B5673EH1-CH9 original memory: Ghz 1333, non - ecc, 1.5 volts, case latency 9 etc.etc.
It's a laptop DV6-2140ED HP with a processor Intel i5 - 430 m and Intel mobile chipset HM55.
The bios detects 8 GB and it also passes the check/test of memory. As far as I know that I have also installed the latest bios firmware: F.1D. Reinstall my Windows 10 64 bit does not work either: with 8 GB I also get blue screens, after I try to boot my Windows 10 bootable USB drive.
I read other people having the same problem, but I have not read a solution yet. What can we do about it?
Hello:
Please see this discussion. You buy a very specific memory for any HP laptop with Mobile Intel 5 series chipset.

Well my Toshiba Satellite A205-S5814 laptop was very slow and I was getting very frustrated with it, so I decided pop in the CD "Toshiba Applications/Drvers" perhaps to restore my laptop to factory settings and run perfect once again.
As I was doing this operation and tried fixing it, the thing finished and off the laptop. And when I turned it back on, Windows will now start and give me the Windows Boot Manager screen. My laptop had Vista on it and I even tried to install Windows XP Home Edition on it with a disk I had. But whenever he's going to do, he says he can find t any hard drive? But for sure, there is a hard drive!
I do not understand what has happened and why this Toshiba drive ruined my laptop. Before I used this drive my laptop has always works and works OK, it has been slow but still booted Vista and stuff ran. Can someone please help me or tell me what to do, I think that Toshiba has messed up my laptop with disc here, and I don't think that we should have to pay so he can get fixed.
Please help me.Hello!
I don t think that the Toshiba Recovery disk ruined your laptop.
If I am right on the recovery disk is Vista and it was installed before. I think the installation going something wrong.
When you get the Windows Boot Manager you can fix your computer? You can reinstall Vista without the recovery disk when you choose this option, then Toshiba product recovery. When you install Windows XP, you need a SATA driver. If you don t use one, you will get this error which can t find hard drives.
You can download it on the Toshiba site and after booting from the XP CD, you must press F6 to load drivers from a floppy external drive or use you nLite to create a disc with drivers.Good bye

I have a dv6000 Pavilion laptop with Windows 7 Operting System. After a few recent updates at the beginning of my use of the computer (instead of at the end of my computer use), when I turn on the laptop, it brings up my user name and a password field, which, once I insert the password, it should redirect me to the window of the Application. But after having inserted the password, the word "Welcome" with a circle of rotation appears on the display screen. This ' circle' rotates to progress to subject one minute and then display will Dim and never produced the home screen of the Application. I greeted the dark screen to stay on the computer for more than 5 minutes and the House request never appears. The only way to shut down Windows is to press Ctrl-Alt-Del, which produces a window with the following options: 1) lock this computer 2). Change user 3.) Close the session 4) Change a password 5). Start the Manager of tasks with a button CANCEL in the center of the display and of the farm to the bottom of the icon in the lower right with the following options: 1) 2 restart.) (Sleep 3). Windows does not start after the update...
Hope someone can help with this,
I just installed the update sp1 for my computer for Windows Vista Premium Home dir all installed with no problems, but when I restarted my pc, Windows wouldn't start. The only thing that is on display is a black screen with Windows Error Recovery on top, then he said "Windows does not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I tried to restart it in different ways, but nothing. Then he said: I have to insert my OS drive to try to fix, but that's not even start. Everyone knows about this problem? This has happened right after that I installed the update...
L.Butler,
Are you able to boot from your Vista DVD or recovery partion and run the Startup Repair tool? If you do not have a Vista disc so make sure that your computer is configured to boot from the CD drive before booting from the hard drive. Once you start with support for Vista select the "Repair your computer" option and first run "Startup Repair". If that is not correct the problem then boot with Vista support and select the option "System Restore" and choose a date prior to the update install.
Once you are able to boot normally again, then I suggest that you are looking for virus\malware. SP1 was released in April 2008. So if you install earlier means there may be other problems on your system. If you have a backup of your current personal data then I recommend to do a clean restore to install\factory. Then immediately install antivirus software, and then do all Windows updates before installing other software. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

Vista won't start after the last update of Silverlight - restarts constantly
I installed the latest version of Silverlight from Microsoft Update, July 21. There are 2 updates, but the other would not move. My computer worked nomally and later when I stopped it, I got the "Configuring updates... do not turn off your computer" message. It seemed to take a while, so I went to bed and the next morning, I saw that the computer had finally stopped. I started it and I got the message "configuration updates stage 3 of 3." 0% complete. Do not turn off your computer. "After anywhere from 10 seconds to a few minutes, it restarts. She's constantly - he keeps just reboot and it displays the updates configuration message. In the System Recovery Options, Startup Repair indicates that everything is OK. "System Restore" to go to the restore point previous does not work. What can I do? The only other option and restore utility is all erase and install the drive from the factory.
I have Windows Vista, the latest service pack and updates. I have F-Secure anti virus/firewall.
He has also failed to the previous Microsoft Update a week or 2 but it gave an error code of that time. I looked at the error to Microsoft code and it says that the update log was full and there was a command to enter to remedy. I did that and installed the update and everything was fine. Unfortuately I have more error code or order more.
Perhaps related to this problem? My computer is pretty much dead now after Silverlight updated because it constantly restarts.
Don't boot from the XP CD.
Do an ERD of VistaBootable of the info below:
As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.
As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista repair disc.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
There is not a disk of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
