Windows XP and Vista does support Multi processors

Hello

Could someone tell me if material motherboards today multiprocessor support Windows XP and the same for Windows Vista?  If yes would someone also indicate which version of Windows XP and Vista no it support and even for 32/64-bit options? I read that you need Windows Vista Ultimate Edition to run on the hardware of today? Is this correct?

Thanks in advance

Victor

If the material is supported on a given operating system is determined by the manufacturer equipment.  If they support a given operating system, then you are good to go.  If they do not, things will be less a lot rougher.

However, as a general rule, the professional level of the Windows operating systems support multiple processors if that is your only concern.  I hope you understand the difference between multiple processors and multiple cores.  :-)

Answers to your, "you must have Windows Vista Ultimate Edition to run on the hardware of today?  Is this correct? "query is, 'no, No '.

For Windows Vista (I want to jump, if I thought to upgrade):
http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-hardware/multi-core-processor-and-multiprocessor-limit-for/d00780f8-76e8-4AF6-AA49-e64a7007c17f

In regard to the 64-bit or 32 - bit - still once it comes down to the support of manufacturer of material for a given operating system * and * the said OS architecture.

It of for homework, isn't it?

  • Sharable desktop to any number (say up to 50) of users in Windows XP and Vista when all are connected to a wireless ad-hoc network? Or is there a limit on the number of users that can be shared? ___Thanks

Need to have this configuration in a classroom environment.

I don't know what you mean when you ask a desktop or sharing users.

A network computer can share files and printers with other computers, but there are limits that might make it unusable for you.  Windows XP and Vista allow 5 or 10 concurrent connections by other computers, depending on the version.

You need an operating system of Windows Server or Linux server to allow for more concurrent connections to shared files and printers.

I also fear that an ad - hoc network does not work well with 50 computers.

If not, then someone can advise on alternative e-mail client which takes support the feature. I know Thunderbird that supports this feature, but Thunderbird doesn't have the feature of autofill dropdown as gmail address (where it lists all e-mail addresses containing the alphabets typed in any part of the identification of email).

  • 10 free of charge during the first year Windows update - include Windows XP and Vista?

    Hello

I read in the press last week that Microsoft will offer a free upgrade of Windows 10 for users of Windows 7 and 8 for a period of one year after its initial launch.  My question is Microsoft will expand the offering to users of Windows XP and Vista?

As long as the material can cope with the new operating system - and it seems to be able to scale up to a certain extent - surely, it would be more beneficial to all parties that as many possible Windows users get the new standard rather than race systems not supported / dangerous or ineffective.

I know several users who are quite happy with their existing equipment, but are showing more concern with the lack of support from their systems and they cannot afford to upgrade their hardware right now.  There are also many companies who do not want the additional costs of purchasing new computers if its computers are fit - for-purpose (except for the lack of OS support...).

If the grand design is to get Windows facilities as 10 in the first year, then it would seem preferable to offer either to these users:

    (a) a free upgrade like any other Windows user

    (b) a small fee upgrade - say £10 - get to 10 Windows

Right now, this offer is only available for Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 7 users, but if you migrate your installation of Windows XP now to preview Windows 10, you will receive the promotion.

  • Failed to install driver Realtek HD Audio in Windows 7 and Vista [Ultimate]

I didn't install the Realtek HD Audio driver in windows 7 and Vista. When I install it it displays a message "error code:-0001. When I install after installing graphics driver card it says "Error code: 0 x 000000103 ' a few days it worked fine without any errors. But since yesterday, I am facing the problem. I tried to install it on safe mode and uninstalled the driver of HD by default. Then it installs perfectly but I can't hear any sound and when I start my PC the default driver installs automatically. Help, please! What can I do? This problem does not persist in windows xp.

    Hi JohngLittle,

    Method 1

What is the brand and model of the computer?

What is the status of driver for sound card and graphics card driver in Device Manager and the steps to display sound and graphics driver in Device Manager include the following:

    1. click on Start

    2. in the search box, type run

    3. in the run window, type devmgmt.msc

    4. in the search for a Device Manager window for sound and display

Check if there is no exclamation point on them or not.

    Method 2

If you find the exclamation point on these options try to update the drivers and is the link, you can refer:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Update-driver-hardware-ISN

NOTE: try to go to the website of the manufacturer of the computer and try to install the compatible sound card driver and graphic drivers and check with the question...

Please let us know if the problem persists. We will be happy to help you further.

    Thank you and best regards.

  • Cannot print through USB on Windows 8 router, but can through windows 7 and Vista

    Problem:

I have a printer that works for both computers windows 7 and vista.  I have two computers windows 8 that do not work.
    Material:
    laptop Toshiba P50 brand new.
Router Asus RT - N16 rooted with the TomatoUSB firmware.
    Printer/scanner color Samsung CLX-3180.
    Symptoms:
I can get the printer to operate if connected directly via USB.  The new Samsung universal of the generic drivers work.
Even the driver connected via TCP/IP causes the printer to beep and the power wheels to run but nothing comes out.  It looks like windows and the printer think print things.
    What I've tried so far:
Uninstalled all printer drivers and ports.  Then reinstalled with fresh downloaded drivers.  I had to erase the registry because pilots and port were considered to be in use.
I have disabled the firewall without result.

I fixed it finally I think.

    Here's what I did.
-Deleted all drivers in the system.  (1) remove the 2 devices) remove the driver through "(propriétés dele de serveur d'impression 3) delete all created ports through"the print server properties""
-Download the new drivers. type 64-bit
-printer installed using Samsung universal driver 2 and player USB connection as required by the manufacture.
-installed the TCP/IP port using the TomatoUSB facility and former driver of windows 7.  (wrong system to not check to see if the printer is online)  The pilot was CLX-3180
-Changed the driver properties Advanced printer to "Sansung Universal Driver 2" tab
-Change of printer model for Samsung CLX-3180 in the printer - Options tab of the device properties.
-L' printer select clicked the button when changing the port.  Don't know what it does.

    Hi, CPC,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Community!

You must install Flight simulator on vista as well as Windows Xp and vista are two different operating systems.

You log in to vista, you may not use any of the XP application and vice versa.

  • Why my windows freeze and go does not respond when I try to install the msn photo on hotmail download tool?

Why my windows freeze and go does not respond when I try to install the msn photo on hotmail download tool?

The active x bar descends into the small window and freezes all windows open right there and will not respond. This happens when I open a new message and try to attach photos.

Things I tried but has not made a difference:

reinstalled IE 8, deleted the history of the browser, disk Cleanup, removed msn photo upload control, optimized IE8

    With xp media center

PS. This occurs also at any time the information down to install an active x on any site control

The only way to surf now with frustration is to use IE 8 NOT add optional

So I fixed that on my own and that's how I did it.

You must uninstall IE 8 completely which will bring you to IE 7 (in my case) and then install IE 8 via the site updates or microsoft.

Uninstallin IE 8 by going to:

    Start--->

    Control Panel--->

    Add Remove programs--->

    Scroll down to IE 8--->

    Click on delete.

IE8 updates must be removed also, if not then click the box 'To see the updates' on the top of the window to scroll down, look for the IE 8 security updates and delete.

Resart your computer and install IE 8.

This worked for me and may or may not work for you.

  • Windows 7 and vista limit the number of files to select and print or open to 15. Need a work around to push this limit.

Windows 7 (and Vista) when you select more than 15 files in Explorer, the 'Print' and 'Open' selections under the 'File' menu disappear.  This is very annoying, because I work with a lot of text files and selecting them 15 at once is heavy and prone to errors.  I need a work around to raise this limit to about 60.  I never had no problem to do under XP or previous editions of windows.  I have a fast computer or memory but windows 7 won't let me use it: it of like buying a ferrari and the merchant sends a padlock on the accelerator and said "...". you will son... This is for your own safety! "It's very frustrating.

Maybe, it's a limitation of the program that you use to open the files. I use Windows Live Photo Gallery, and even if I select more than 500 files at the same time, the open and print commands can be used.

By the way: the number of places of a Ferrari is very limited. ;-)

  • program speech recognition on Windows 7 and Vista sense microphone input

One of my friends tries to use the text-to-speech program built into Windows 7 and Vista, on their computer and laptop computer - with a brand new microphone and using a USB plugin and an audio input jack. All we ever get is a if you asking the window of our "MIC is muted.

We need this thing to work. And please don't tell us 'optimize our browser '. We don't need this kind of nonsense lazy, evasive. We want to know why this specific programme will not work. Thank you.

Connect the USB microphone (to aft port on a desktop computer, any port for laptop). Then right click on speaker icon lower right task bar. Click recording devices. Highlight the USB microphone. Speak into the microphone. Green bars should move up and down like you're talking about. If they do not, click Properties and then the levels tab level slider move to 100%, click OK and test speaking into the microphone again to see if green bars go up and down. If they don't, try a different USB port.

For the analog microphone test the same way. Use a Mic back in port, not one alone on the front or on a monitor.

Microphone work, go into Control Panel, speech recognition, and microphone Set prior to the formation of WSR (Windows speech recognition).

  • Tip: Faster boot Windows 7 and Vista

By default, Windows Vista and Windows 7 dΘmarrez with a single processor.

If you have a multi-core PC, you can change the number of processors used during system startup.

Speed will be improved a bit but don't expect wonders,

    Do it like this:

    1. open 'msconfig' (start-> Search "msconfig")

    2. Select the tab "start".

    3. Select "extended Options.

    4. change the "number of processors".

5 (more you can select "no departure from MISTLETOE" on the tab "Start")

    6 restart the system

    Very interesting!
I'll test it on my laptop satellite.

I've used windows mail in vist afor several years - he stopped allowing me to open attachments. Security tab allows attachemnts to open, but I have to follow email and them I can open it front page. Anything else need tick?

    Hi Gumleaf,

    1. this happens with a specific attachment or all?

    2. you receive messages or error codes when you try to open the attachments?

    3. what email you transfer to?

    4. were you able to open the attachments before without any problem?

    Step 1:

You can temporarily disable third-party security software and firewalls installed on the system and check if the problem persists.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

    Step 2:

Alternatively, you can try to run a SFC scan and check.

This problem may occur if a system file is missing or damaged.

You can refer to the method-the System File Checker tool in the following article:
