Windows XP cannot be seen by vista or windows 7

I have three computers on a network attached together with a switch. the os is XP, Vista and Win7PRO.

the XP computer can see the other two computers, but vista systems and win7 can not see the XP system. It's a little unpredictable, as they have in the past were all connected, but there must be a setting in XP that prevents the projection system. Things like sharing were reviewed and appear to be well. Systems can ping the XP system, but nothing shows up on the Working Group (they are all on the same workgroup) with Vista or Win7. Firewalls have been disabled too. Suggestions?

Maybe this can help.

As Win 7 is the newest operating system on the network, the configuration must be organized around it.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Homegroup = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Network of home or work = fundamentally similar (and better) to the previous Working Group sharing methods which allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

Public share = network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

To get best results connect to each computer system screen and set all the computers to be on a bearing the same name of Working Group , while each computer has its own unique name.

Make sure that the software firewall, AV, or other security components allow free local traffic on all network computers. If you use the 3rd group of security, firewall native Vista/XP must be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

Please Note that some 3rd party software firewall/AV/security costumes continue to block aspects of the Local traffic even it they are off (off). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic.

If you end up with the 3rd party software uninstalled or disabled, make sure that Windows native firewall is active .

Network Win 7 with another version of Windows as a work network (works very well if all computers are Win 7 also).

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

If you have permission and security issues with Vista/Win7, check the following settings.

I have a vSphere Essentials Plus 4.1 cluster that is connected to 2 x bays HP MSA2324i SAN, we have 2 x hosts and both can see current volumes / LUNS absolutely perfect (vMotion and migration of VM offline all work as expected). I'm starting a consolidation project virtual disks / volume of the San 2 x, however a new volume I created on a network SAN cannot be seen by the other host.
The new volume has been implemented exactly like the others, but of course with a unique logic for mapping unit number explicit, but when scanning the iSCSI HBA the new LUN is never found :-(
I was wondering if others have had also this happens to them and know why this may be implemented?.
(This is a company that I joined, it's my third week, and that they had also no VMware subscription on their reunification since 2012, otherwise I would be to connect a call to technical support of VMware, by train to get the sub upwards and running)

This can occur for the following reasons:

1 network discovery is disabled.

2. the computer you want to connect is not shared folders.

Make sure there is at least a shared folder to connect to.

3. the computers are not in the same workgroup.

Confirm if the computers are in the same workgroup

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Disable the security software installed on the computer, to do this, follow steps mentioned in the link below them

After replacing my HARD drive with a 1 software to, serverals collapsed at work, such as messenger, Windows Update, network (printers and computers cannot be seen).

I use Windows Vista SP3, Intel core Duo, 1 TB HDD processor. I copied the two partation, I had (from old HARD drive). After that my msn, the network (only the local network, internet is ok), Update Windows... stoped working. I got a messenge for windows update in saying that the service is not running, but according to services.msc it still running. When I try to sign in to Messenger, it is said that the service is temporarily unavailable.

Cannot install files of Vista in Windows 7 with Windows Easy Transfer

I got files on the old computer (Windows Vista 32 bit). They are now stored on my external hard drive. I have a new computer with Windows 7. Using Windows Easy Transfer, I transferred the original files on the external hard drive before stopping the old computer. Now, I'm trying to install the files on Windows 7 using the file transfer tool. It won't work. What I am doing wrong?

When I try to open an ftp site in Windows Explorer, I get the following error: "this FTP site cannot be seen in Windows Explorer.

I was able to open it in the past with XP and some computers with Windows 7.

Compare the two computers and see what is different between them. Could be a firewall issue, or a suite of antivirus blocks or possibly a malware infestation, causing connectivity problems.

original title: cannot use or restore after uninstalling SP1 Vista - please help.

In order to perform an upgrade of Vista installation to repair the damage caused by a virus recently, I uninstalled Service Pack 1 (because installation upgrade will not work with SP1). I know there are other things I should have done (a sfc/scannow in theCommandPrompt) or SP1 slipstreamed DVD, but I did not know them at the time, nor did I think there will be problems as a result of an uninstallation of SP1. As the title suggests, I got kind of wrong.

It all started after uninstallation, which seemed successful. I rebooted, and instead to get Vista without SP1, I get an error code of the variety of the command prompt (just the black screen with white writing). This continues for a couple of times, and after a few remedies attempts that fail miserably, I decide to systemrestore(using the Vista CD, of course) at a point before uninstalling SP1. I think it will work, but the first time, as it gets to the "development of restoration" and how he hung for three hours before, I decided to turn off the computer because he was of course not moveable anywhere. I restart and let the boot from HARD drive upwards to see if maybe something worked, and I get to the login screen of Vista, how I notice none of my devices work. The mouse or the keyboard responds (both are USB) and the attempts with the PS/2 versions don't either. I thought maybe it was a driver problem, so I reinstalled the driver chipset at the disk using my laptop (took thedesktopHARD drive, put in a box outside, then executed the installer of the chipset on my laptop and said to install outside driver), but it could not solve the problem. I can't interpret it, although it seems to confirm my suspicions the transition from other than the SP1 and SP1 is causing issues. If someone else could interpret this?

Basically I have a non-functional operating system, I can not restore it to a State of operation, nor access the input devices because it does not work on the login screen. Anyone all proposed solutions to the problem, short of a clean install of Vista? I don't want to reformat unless absolutely necessary.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

Satellite P200-140: cannot install software on Vista with the administrator account

just bought a new P200-140 Sat with windows vista at home, but I cannot load the software on the computer.

I'm in administrator mode and when I am trying to load the software I get an error message saying "can only load software as an administrator of disconnection and reconnection as Administrator", but the problem is that I am the administrator.

Are you sure that the admin account has been activated and you are connected with the admin rights 1005?

I asked because the administrator in Vista OS account is disabled by default.
Why? Well, it's an idea to Microsoft ;) and I think that the user must often work with limited rights.
But if you want to enable this account you can do the following:

-Right-click on the computer
-manage
-users and groups
-double click on administrator
-Remove the brand to deactivate account

After this procedure you can connect to the Vista operating system as an administrator.

Photosmart 7520 cannot be seen by any device except the router

I bought a 7520 yesterday to replace an old B210 who had developed a very random error "wrong printhead installed", and initially got it works fine and printed several documents. However, try to use the printer today, he appeared offline in all programs and devices and printers. I've seen a lot of posts like this, but the difference is that I use Windows that apparently plays generally pretty good with HP printers. I tried static IP and auto IP, within the DHCP range and outside, nothing seems to work. I don't really know what to think or what to try more. Software of HP does not recognize and won't be nor Windows, regardless of whether or not the printer drivers are installed. Cannot display anything in vista

I'm currently running vista Home premium 32-bit operating system. This morning I found that I have all my icons, but no icon names, cant access any programs at all because everything is just these small square boxes. I am unable to do anything as nothing is readable. Anyone has a solution for this or do we not have a virus? If you need more information, please let me know.
