Windows XP does not recognize my iphone as a camera

When I plug my iphone itunes recognises my iphone, but the window will not recognize the camera.  When I try to access the camera via my computer or through "camera scanner" nothing appears.

How can I get windows to recognize my iphone as a camera?

I had the same problem with two separate iPhones on Windows XP.  I went into Device Manager to check the driver.  Under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", find "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver".  Double-click on it, go to the tab "Driver", then "Update Driver".

Who took care of her!

You may need to do more than once, and I don't know if it makes a difference, but I made sure that I actually had a few photos on the iPhone when I did.

After you download the photos on my iphone, windows 7 does not recognize my iphone. in other words when I open my computer the iphnoe isn't here; but in Panel, in devices and printers, it appears with unspecified Apple Mobile Device USB driver, in the form of a generic icon.

When I run Auto Play in the search box; the iphone is there with the icon to the right, but there is no screen options menu. It behaves as if it were invisible.

It is important to note that this started AFTER downloading the pictures for the first time. Until windows has always recognized my camera properly.

  • Windows XP does not recognize the iPhone - device not recognized error

I am running Windows XP (SP2 I believe) and whenever I plug in my iPhone I get the error not recognized USB device. If iTunes does not recognize it and I can't sync. My guess is that I'm missing or have an updated driver, but I don't know how to install. If it makes a difference, I am using a brand new MacBook Pro and Windows XP via Parallels Desktop. I don't think it's the question, though, as I used to be able to sync with my Manager (ACT!) contacts via Outlook. It seems to be simply a function of Windows is not able to identify the iPhone via USB. A simple solution would be appreciated, but I'll take complicated if that's all that's available.

This question has been a known issue that seems by Parallels. I did some research and read through some of the threads for workarounds. He doesn't seem to be a conclusive solution, but works to some extent. • Windows 7 does not recognize my iphone 5 s

My new iphone 5 s is not recognized in Win7 Device Manager.  It is not listed in ANY category, USB, Portable device, etc..

Win7 has all available software updates.

V7.1.1.3 Apple Mobile Device Support is installed.

Latest version of iTunes is installed.

No iphone on iTunes, either, of course.

Iphone 5s itself seems to work perfectly (although I wish that the volume of the ringtone has been stronger).

I looked into what I think, but still have no solution.

Does anyone have any practical suggestions?

    Jerry

Well, the simplest solution is usually the best.  I borrowed a cable from a dealer of iphone, connected, problem solved!  From the beginning, I had dismissed the possibility that the cable was defective because it was new.  I would not have done that...  I transform a simple glitch in a much bigger.

Thanks reda for trying to help me, I really appreciate it.

  • iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone, which has the latest operating system running

iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone running. I downloaded the latest OS for the phone and the latest version of iTunes on my PC and have tried all USB ports several times. I also reinstalled drivers USB to the PC.  The phone is recognized on the computer of a friend under Win 7. All shows when I plug it on mine is a page showing the 'Apple iPhone' folder display of storage internal (2.18 GB free of 14.7 GB). Troubleshooting in devices and printers, where the phone displays as "Not specified Apple iPhone" generates a message saying that "Apple iPhone is an older USB device and may not work with USB 3.0 and plug it into a USB 2.0 port." But when I use USB 2.0 (I tried several times using each of the three USB ports on my PC), troubleshooting the error message says "Apple iPhone won't work correctly with USB 3.0." This seems to be a recent problem, since in March 2016, I could spend a few songs from my PC to my phone using iTunes.

I wish I had some ideas of people who have experienced this problem, I find to be a more frustrating one.

Well, you aren't the only one. This just freakin happened to me. I spent the last three hours with apple and Windows supports. Now I'm reinstalling Windows 10 by last resort of Windows support councils. I got the same message USB. In iTunes, under devices something removed my 5s and the iPad. But it remains 6 s wife. I tried my computers 2-(SS) 3.0 ports and 1 port 2.0 ordinary. I tried all four thinners cables I have. I will let you know the result of the Windows reinstall.

    Hi BrittLeighCass,

I understand that you are not able to get iTunes to recognize your iPhone, now that you have updated your iPhone to iOS 10. That you have described here some quite impressive troubleshooting in-depth. Fortunately, however, it may well be a few additional things to try in this situation.

  • iTunes does not recognize my iPhone

    Hello

Because I downloaded Windows 10, iTunes (version 12.4) does not recognize my iPhone 6 (iOS 9.3.2). When I plug my phone into my laptop, my laptop recognize my phone and it loads normally, but with iTunes nothing happens.

Any tips? (Sorry if I made some mistakes in English)

If your iOS device does not appear in iTunes, try the following:

    1. Open Control Panel > Device Manager
    2. Plug in your device
    3. Locate Bus USB Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
It is also possible that the device may appear under imaging devices, portable devices or other devices or as a device USB of MTB.
    4. Right-click and select software update of the driver...
    5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
      C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    7. Click on let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer
    8. Click on Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
    9. Click Next, then close and exit the Device Manager

To step 3 above, open the Device Manager. Expand one of the articles that are listed.

    • USB Bus controllers
    • Imaging devices
    • Portable devices
    • Other devices

Plug in the appliance. You should hear the telltale Windows sound device connection and a Division must acquire a new entry. This should be your device. It cannot be labelled properly at this point. If you do not hear a suspicious noise cable damaged.

Or try If iTunes does not your iPad, iPhone or iPod - Apple Support

If not try a complete tear down and rebuild iTunes in accordance with the resolution of the problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

Or try to go back to the last version of iTunes that has worked for you. See the programs installation of iTunes to download links. If you roll back to 12.4.0.119 to 12.3.3.17 or 12.3.2.35, for example, then you will also need restore the database of the library in the manner described in the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library. The tip makes suggestions to reintroduce recent purchases, so at worst, you lose a few meters or a newly created playlist.

You don't say anything on your computer.  I don't even know if it's a Mac or a PC. This may apply to you:

iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher.  Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated.  It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to sync this phone to your current computer. If she can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11.  El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM.  Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.
