Windows XP does not start after the installation of an SSD.

Windows XP SP3 and Intel Smart Response Technology

Recently, I built a new computer and installed Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro in a dual-boot arrangement.  Everything worked very well.  I then installed an SSD in the hopes of using the Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) to speed things up.

I shut down the computer, installed the SSD, brought up in Win7 and follow the easy guests in SRT to activate the player.  Restarted several times and things SSD speed up significantly.  Wonderful.
I so restart and select Windows XP so I can SRT it.  After you select Windows XP in the boot menu, a few seconds and I get a quick flash of a BSOD and the computer restarts spontaneously.  I can't enter in WinXP, not even without failure or last known good config Mode.
I again in Win7 and disable the SRT, reboot and I can enter Windows XP very well.  So obviously WinXP has a problem with the SRT is activated outside the XP.  That being said, I can't activate SRT in WinXP first either.  "Accelerate" option does not appear in the menu.
Any ideas on that?
Thanks for your help!

Hello

In these cases, we always recommend to update the system BIOS of motherboard, update the firmware of the controller RAID and disks installed. If the problem persists, you will need to fix the compatibility problem directly with the manufacturer of the motherboard and add it to the RAID controller itself.

I suggest you to contact Intel support site to improve assistance on the issue.

Warning of the BIOS:

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Windows 7 does not start after the installation of updates - sounds familiar!

Apparently, I have another system that no longer starts after you install an update to Windows 7. New kick computer _ I have to disable the automatic update of windows. Twice I had to restore the system in the first week because he hung up after the installation of updates for windows 7. I have no idea what update is the cause of the problem.

Essentially, start the screen goes black with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner of the screen. The only way out is to restore the system.

Does anyone know what update is the culpret? HP support has no idea. Their only solution was to update windows 7 to 'never download an update from windows '. It is a terrible thing to be underestimated solution.

    Here's the resolution...

I installed all the updates except KB2284742 954430, 973688 and 971033. So I decided to install these 1 4 at a time in the order shown. I installed successfully 228472 and 954430 and 973688 disappeared from the list of available updates. So I installed 971033 and it installed successfully and I was still able to restart.

My conclusion is that there is a conflict between the first 3 updates when they are installed at the same time.

Now my system is up to date with all windows updates and I'm able to restart without any problems!

  • Windows XP does not start after the installation of 3 GB of RAM. Will start with only 2 GB or less.

I installed the new RAM on my desktop Compaq EVO D500.  Everything was working fine until 2 GB.  When I tried to install no matter what the computer does not start.  Specifications of the computer say maximum RAM is 3 GB.  All the memory and are good because I swapped taken in all the combinations possible and memory.  Any ideas. gknapp_ny

If their were any memory related settings that had to be changed I would have no idea how do.  I had initially 512 MB of RAM (256-2 sticks).  I added a stick of 1 GB aditional third availabel taking and all went well.  Then I had two more identical 1 GB sticks and added them one at a time.  With 2 GB without problem.  But with the third stick of 1 GB that I couldn't start - I just beeps. I swapped one of the sticks of 1 GB for an old 256 MB and still no start just beeps.  When I run 2 GB everything is fine.  The BIOS recognizes the 2 GB of RAM. gknapp_ny

Sounds as if your BIOS will not identify no matter what says the spec, 3 GB.

It seems as if you may need a BIOS update in order to recognize the 3 GB of RAM - especially if it is a very old Compaq Evo D500.  See the "Improvements" tab to the page linked below.

    See http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=96295&swItem=PSG_I15378-37635&prodNameId=97121&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=3

Note that the patch on the link above is for models Evo D500 "with a ROM family 686Y2."  Read the "Release Notes" on this page to determine if your machine is one of those and if so, see "Instructions of Installation" to install the upgrade.  If your D500 is a laptop, you should Flash the ROM ONLY (i.e., update the BIOS level) when the computer is plugged - loss of power during this process can potentially cause irreparable harm to the computer.

Original title: xp does not start after the installation of avira

    I have a HP Slimline s7410
    XP Home Edition SP3
I had Norton free with Comcast, but since I have no more Comcast became Norton expired. So I uninstalled Norton and installed the free version of Avira, he scanned the computer and it was clean. I went to reboot and now it does not start.
    I have a cd/dvd drive of work.
I don't have an XP bootable installation CD

My system worked well until: I installed the free version of Avira

Whenever I select one on the XP advanced options options menu start, it goes into a boot loop.
I turn off the auto reboot system failure although it seems only work once, as the next time he's trying to start up it goes into the boot loop.

Here's what my BSOD looks like:

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check the configuration of your hard drive and check the updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Technical information:
    STOP: 0 X 00000024 (0 X 00190203, 0 X 87174270, 0XC0000102, 0X00000000)

My first suggestion is to do a system restore at this time point.

second suggestion is to keep your external drive connected to the pc at all times.  only detach when necessary.   of course, it would be better to install a second hard drive in the computer instead.   in any case, keep your personal files out of the system disk is a wise thing to do.   You can also download and store files for free on the Microsoft Skydrive site.

third suggestion is to keep your system set upward through executing a check disk and Defrag at least once a month.   Basically, you can open the Explorer and right-click on the drive letter.  then select Properties, and on the Tools tab, you will have the opportunity to run the disk check.  then reboot and do a Defrag.   where this disk check fails, then you will need to run it to the drive via a bootable cd prompt.

Interestingly, I don't know if the bootable cd that you made you allows to run the disk check.

so my suggestion is to do a series of tests using your cd bootable your computer works.  see if you can actually run a chkdsk/r at the moment with them.    If Yes, then if your constant worries are having bad sectors on the hard disk, chkdsk/r will identify and mark so windows will jump on them.    in any case, see if your boot at the moment media can run a check disk at all, and let me know.

fifth proposal is to install "microsoft security essentials" like your anti virus program.  even if you have run ubantu, it is not likely to have been an infected copy.   anti - are most critical virus for windows and not not so much for ubantu or linux is because windows is a system of world class operations.    the people who make the virus deliberately their engineer for the windows operating system.   If, however, ubantu and linux have been just as popular as Windows, virus engineers would make infections for the o.s. too.     Although they no doubt, attacks are more frequent for the windows os.

  • Windows 7 32 bit does not start after the installation of the need for assistance

I have an iMac 21.5 inches (mid-2011) with 8 GB Ram, 2 TB SSHD, new HL-DT-ST DVD - RW GA32N and tried to install windows 7 (32 bit) on using Boot Camp Assistant.

I already downloaded and copied software 4.0.4033.zip Boot Camp here-> https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630?locale=en_US for my 16 GB Pen Drive MS-DOS (FAT32)

The installation was successful, and windows 7 loads just fine 1st time, I created UserID and password, settings etc... using the apple keyboard then installed the drivers from apple on this issue of my 16 GB USB key. Seems my Magic Mouse works but my keyboard is not detected

Then I tried to restart so the changes would come into force, and since then my Windows will not start or run Windows 7

Now if I start my iMac hold down the Option key, I get Macintosh HDD, windows, recovery 10.11.4 and DVD. If I select Windows or Windows DVD it starts Booting then black screen followed by this Message on the screen «Press a key to boot from the CD or DVD...» »

If I press any button it starts booting from DVD and gives me the option to install Windows and if I do not press a button some then nothing happens

Windows does not start a BootCamp HDD and I'm left with no option but to press on the button / stop to stop iMac.

Fortunately my El Capitan works well, but my Windows will not start. I tried 2 times install windows 7 32 Bit on my BootCamp HDD.

So any help, I do not understand what am I'm doing wrong, I would be really grateful if someone who knew bootcamp can guide me so that I can run Windows OSX on my iMac.

    Thanks in advance.

Remove the DVD, boot in OSX and after the release of the following Terminal commands?

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands will prompt to enter your password, and there do not appear to come back. You can also see caution against improper use 'sudo' and the potential loss of data due to an "abuse" of the order.

Satellite A300-15 has, I bought yesterday and after completing the installation of Vista, I tried to install "Alcohol" but my judgment of the laptop and now I'm not able to boot up the laptop.
It does not start in any mode.

I forgot to make recovery disks. I think that alcohol is not compatible with Vista. Error I get is below.

Can someone tell me the solution?
    Please help urgent

"A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: blah blah... "

Looks like a problem familiar to me, as I had the same one with the Daemon tools. After installing these tools, I couldn't start my Windows XP. I guess that it somehow mixed upwards of some drivers or registry entries, but not sure about that.

OK, you can try to uninstall tool first start Vista in safe mode (press F8 before Windows starts upward).
You should then be able to enter in Vista without problem.

  • M127FW MFP: Computer does not start after the installation of the MFP M127FW

My computer does not start on my hard drive after installation of my new printer MFP M127FW unless I have first of all disconnect the USB cable between the printer and then turn on the computer.  My BIOS is set to boot from my drive hard, not from a USB key, so that makes installing the drivers M127FW MFP and software do on my computer?  I guess it has something to do with the Smart Install feature.

    It worked.  Thank you.

  • Apache does not start after the installation of ColdFusion11

I am doing an upgrade to CF8 to CF11, but should keep CF8 on the server until CF11 runs correctly on my production server.

    Apache 2.2.26, Tomcat 7.0.64

    Windows Server 2008_R2 (virtual)

I have the original CF 11.0.0 file directly from Adobe. I chose a standard installation (no JEE) with Apache web server and all subcomponents, no servlets. The installation proceeds without problems.

In httpd.conf of Apache, I see the code section that had been added by my previous installation of CF8:

    LoadModule jrun_module "C:/ColdFusion8/runtime/lib/wsconfig/1/mod_jrun22.so".
    < IfModule mod_jrun22.c >
    .. .more code...
    < / IfModule >

I also see the line of code that the installer was added for CF11:

    Include "C:\Apache2\conf\mod_jk.conf".

I can also find the file mod_jk.conf in the place that it references and all CF11 files and folders that it references exist.

I put in the comment section above for CF8 and try to restart Apache, but it will not start. There are no entries in the Apache logs to explain what happened. If I remove the comments for CF8 and comment out this line for CF11, Apache starts fine.

Since the installation, I have three questions:

    1. Apache does not start successfully with mod_jk.conf CF11
    2. I noticed that the ODBC services do not run in Windows for CF11 (they are for CF8)
    3. I can not navigate to the admin of CF11. CF8 admin works fine (probably on the same port, huh?)

Ideas about why Apache does not start correctly? Thank you.

I finally found a useful entry in the Windows system event log:

The named Apache service reported the following error:
    > httpd.exe: 526 C:/Apache2/conf/httpd.conf online syntax error: syntax on line 2 of C:/Apache2/conf/mod_jk.conf error: cannot load C:/ColdFusion11/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.so into server: Apache the named service is not a valid Win32 application.

Looking at my previous installation for CF8 notes, I found a similar problem.

    Solution:

Extract mod_jk22.so Apache 64 - bit C:\ColdFusion11\runtime\lib\wsconfig.jar (zip) to C:\ColdFusion11\config\wsconfig\1 like mod_jk.so (in lieu of essentially the mod_jk.so CF11 Installer put in place)

Now, commenting on the CF8 to my Apache httpd.conf section and allowing the line CF11 allowed Apache to start properly. The file mod_jk.conf applies an alias to the CFIDE CF11 so that my web address can reach the CF11 Admin!

Completion of the process of configuration/installation in CF11 then allowed me to download and install the update 7. On Self restart, ODBC connectors are also running!

    Situation with my questions:

    1. Solved
    2. Solved

  • Windows does not start after the installation of NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500. Help!

Before, I had a Sparkle GeForce2 MX400 64 MB AGP Graphics Card with the installed driver. I have not had any problems with him, but I need to upgrade, so I got a NVIDIA Inno3D GeForce FX5500 256 MB 128 bit AGP graphics card. So, the thing is, before I installed the driver for it, the computer was working fine, but of course I can't play games. So I downloaded the driver from NVIDIA (175,19 I think), and I installed it in safe mode to avoid any conflict with my antivirus. The installation is complete, and the system restarted. Everything was going well until after the windows logo (by the way, I'm on Windows XP Pro SP3), when the system crashed all of a sudden. The screen turns off, the unit of the system itself was still on, but it does not. I tried enabling / disabling the NumLock, CapsLock button to check if there is an answer, but I have nothing. I manually turned the computer off, waited for about 3 minutes, the market again, but again, the system crashes after the screen Logo of Windows XP. I started in SafeMode again, uninstalled the NVIDIA driver, restart the system and everything went back to normal. I retried my old 64 MB AGP card and it still works fine. I really need to install the driver to make the most of my 256 MB graphics card. Can anyone help please?
So far I did the following:
    1. re-installed Windows XP
2 re-installed the driver NVIDIA about 5 times already.
    3. update all the drivers of my motherboard.
    4. completely removed all traces of NVIDIA using Drive Cleaner and put it back.
    5 installed DirectX 9.0.
Still, none of them worked. Help!

    Hello

I suggest to start the computer in safe mode and check if you can start.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

If you are able to start the computer in safe mode, then go to Device Manager and uninstall the drivers for the graphics card and restart the computer.

If it boots fine in normal mode and then try to install the latest drivers in normal mode and check if that helps.

    Check if that helps.
