You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    Hello

What is your level of service current pack? Click right my computer, click Properties, on the general tab, he says.

If this isn't SP1A or SP2 you will not be able to install SP3. You will first need to install SP2.

How you try to install the SP3? Stand-alone package or Windows Update?

I must say that I'm not sure why you are unable to install, for example, NTBackup. As said by Harish B N, we need more information about the error you get.

  • Windows XP Home edition is installed without SATA - is it possible to reactivate SATA now?

    Hello

I disabled the SATA in the BIOS to install XP successfully. Before that, I had a way to the blue screen at the beginning of the XP installation - as described in the topics in the forum here.

Now I wonder if I could change back - you know, kind of gentle install mode SATA within a running XP drivers and reboot... turn the BIOS SATA mode... and the close up with XP (yet) works well?

Firstly, it is interesting to use the SATA feature, I mean, is it really faster?

And then everyone on the forum tried this?

    Thank you!

    > Firstly, it is interesting to use the SATA feature, I mean, is it really faster?
Yes, some people have reported that the HARD drive would be faster using the SATA mode.

    > Now I wonder if I could change back - you know, kind of gentle install mode SATA within a running XP drivers and reboot... turn the BIOS SATA mode... and the close up with XP (yet) works well?
Hmm in my experience the Windows Starter not correctly if you would replace the SATA to AHCI mode in the BIOS.
Usually, you would get a BSOD and I think you would need to reinstall Win XP with SATA drivers.

    I think so...

    (a) boot with the Vista DVD / disque disk recovery, select Repair Options , and then select command prompt (no admin password needed that way)

    (b) now type C: (or any directory of your system files are located)

    c) cd windows/winsxs

    d) del pending.xml

    (e) then close and restart the computer.

I also suggest you to update all the drivers of the computer as well.

My computer won't allow updates. Whenever I check for them I get the error code 80070005. How can I fix it? Ive tried a few fixes here and nothing works.

    Hello

    ·         What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried?

    ·         You get the error message with code 80070005?

I suggest you follow these methods and see if it helps:

    Method 1:

Try to install the update to the clean boot and check if it helps.

Note: Don't forget to start your machine in normal mode by following step 7 of the link.

    Method 2:

You can try temporarily turning on all security software and then try the updates again.

  • Windows 7 Home - How to install the Korean Language Pack?

I have windows 7 Edition family, and even by adding Korean language keyboards under clock, language and region, I can't type in Korean. English present, despite the "KO" for Korean in my taskbar / language bar.

The full support of Microsoft said that the Korean language is available on the Ultimate versions and Windows 7 business, but this surely isn't the case... What am I supposed to do to install it on Windows 7?

I found a good answer to this question.

    Here is your link.
The first answer in the link solves typing in Korean.  The next will get Korean also works for older programs.

  • Layout of biased e-mail. Failed to open an email. Windows Vista Home Basic. Installed Microsoft Security Essentials.

When you open the e-mail, the arrow cursor has the blue circle that runs continuously.  There are some letters lapping on the e-mail page.   No old or new emails cannot be opened.   Two weeks ago, I installed Microsoft Security Essentials and this problem has been resolved until today; the same problem to access old e-mail is back.

Try to compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).   Then in security essentials exclude the eml files of research (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3), because this results in a mismatch between the WinMail database and what is actually in the message store, generating problems such as you see.

See if that fixes the problem.  You can also try to remove your e-mail account and then closing and reopening of Winmail opener and then add it again.  See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm for information about the message from WinMail store organization.

  • Why was the Windows 7 Home Premium (re) installation disc not bundled with my laptop?

    Hello world.

I love my y560 Ideapad, it was working perfect for the first day I got it.

I'm just a little bit concerned if, why Windows 7 reinstall drive does not appear? The key series sticker is of course still on the bottom of my laptop, so I know it's (almost) legitimate, although I don't know what to do if something bad irreparably took place in some important operating system files. Users must download Windows 7 from a network of torrent?

    Hey tgp.

Unfortunately, they do not group the disks more. You will see a OneKey recovery on the portable utility that allows you to make your own recovery DVDs.

-Tell the truth, the units are activated by a corporate license system. The key on the bottom of the laptop is to serve as a proof of purchase, but the Windows 7 license for the software on your laptop probably does not match it.

In other words, you won't need the lower button with the recovery discs. If "offering you" your own discs (in my case, retail drives), use one on the bottom.
