When you get the recovery console, type 'copy c:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\biosinfo.inf c:\WINDOWS\inf' without the qoutes. There should be a space between the copy and the c: and the first destination (at the end of the inf of the first part) and the second (just before the c: of the second) another one, all this should be no space. Drop the question above actually lead to what may be a solution... The fix for Windows Vista pre SP1 fixes an issue with the (cloned) dynamic disks used to store the paging file.  I have two drives on the clone (E:\) which the system information noticed the location of the swap file.  I put the pagefile drive to C:\ in the event where it was the same problem, such as reported in the hotfix, but it has not fixed the problem...  So I assumed that this fix has been exceeded and a coincidence. But the information system showed the swapfile E:\, my dynamic disks...

What has removed the error is "double adjustment" the return to C:\ drive.  Apparently once is not enough.  I put the pagefile on C:\ managed and rebooted system.  Then I noticed the mistake of volmgr came from miroir3 (second player in E:\) still info system showed the swapfile on C:\.   Weird indeed.  I went and be given the C:\ drive as the system swap drive to managed by activation/deactivation/Executive every car out of the current value, and then back to the desired direction.  After having done that and restart once more the error no longer appears in the event viewer at startup.

  • A general error occurred: could not connect with the password of administrator of vim cannot configure VIM account on the host

    Community salvation.

Story: I was called to look at the configuration of vSphere for a customer. When I started looking, I noticed several problems in the environment of the person who has put in place initially. I've been noting but have done nothing to fix these up to the...

A question that I've seen is that the server vSphere does not apper communicate properly on ESX 3.5 servers. The error message is similar to a post on this forum ( http://communities.vmware.com/message/1450789?tstart=0) however the same method of solution did not work.

Currently I have two ESX hosts connected to a console vSphere. The Console displays the disconnected hosts and the error points to the problems with the VPXUSER account. I found

I searched and found several articles with similar questions, so I chose a course of action

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1007132

    http://communities.VMware.com/message/1168241

As a note - vSphere client connections toESX welcomes also directly works very well - don't show no problems and everything seems fine.

So - my first actions were to disconnect and reconnect one of the hosts.  The operation failed with the error "a general error has occurred: unable to connect with the password of administrator of vim cannot configure VIM account on the host. After that, I followed the elimination of the VPXUSER process, restarted the agents and you reconnect the server for vSphere - to the same result. I then deleted the ESX host, removed the VPXUSER, restarted the agents and added that the host ESX back once again - but no change - the same exact error message. I don't see the VPXUSER ID are re-created by this process - so I guess that ESX and vSphere should know the ID and the password.

Nothing shows up in the var for this - but one of the articles above explains that as a result of the use of the PAM modules.

Just for fun, I also tried using the ROOT password and reallowing ROOT to connect via SSH - but I got the same failures. I also tried lifting the VPXUSER ID privleges but - same questions.

If - goes here - any ideas? I can give other details or screen caputres

  • Windows Vista update (August 2010) left my laptop could not connect to the Internet via my home wireless network

Yesterday, on August 13, I installed - as guest - a number of updates to Windows Vista on my laptop. It seems that most of them is security updates. There are 16 in total, of which 9 are titled "A security update for Windows Vista". (For reference, they include KB978886, KB982214 and KB2079403).

Since the completion of this facility, I can't access the Internet using this laptop. I have a wireless router that works very well. Our other two laptops families (using Windows 7 and other Windows XP uses) are the two beautiful connection today by using the wireless router, so I know that the rest of the installation is fine.

Immediately before installing updates, everything worked very well; Since then, the problem exists. I made no other changes of configuration, facilities or any measure that might have caused this.

Please tell us how I can remedy this problem. So far my best idea is to uninstall all updates. I really don't want to do it, because I guess they are important!

    Thank you!

    Hi RIVTOM,

    ·         Remember to make changes?

    ·         Can you start in safe mode?

The error you mentioned could be either because of incorrect settings basic input/output system (BIOS) or a faulty memory random access (RAM).

Method 1: Restore the default BIOS settings and see if it helps. Consult the manual or manufacturer to do so.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

Method 2: If you understand and are confident the material processing of the computer, and then remove the two RAM modules, noting that slot is used for the module in which, clean the electrical contacts on the modules.

Replace the first module (if there is more than one) take precautions attempt to restart your machine with just the module of memory installed, see how you go. Do the same with the other module (as applicable).

  • Code error 0x7E - the file 'autorun.dll' could not be loaded or is damaged. Setup cannot continue. Windows 7 Upgrade installation problem

I tried to install Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade, 32-bit version. My current system is an Intel iMac (later), with Windows XP - SP3 loaded as a virtual machine with Parallels Desktop 4.0 build 3848 (according to their website, it is supposed to support Windows 7).

I allocated enough space RAM and HARD drive of the virtual machine to run Windows 7. No matter what I do, when I try to run setup.exe, I get the error message: "the file 'autorun.dll' could not be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue. Error code is [0x7E].

The file 'autorun.dll' is present on the disk.

I saw on the internet that other people have also had this problem, with or without Parallels Desktop, and get a replacement DVD of Windows 7 program made no difference to them. Nor is it an available answer, I've seen.

My Windows 7 disc is new, so I was hoping that Microsoft could solve the problem for me?

    Thank you.

OK, so, this response is a little late to come, but if you never solved...

I just encountered the same problem - editing similar (Mac, Parallels 5 in my case, the SP3 of XP, MS Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade) - you must make sure that the DVDROM drive hardware is mapped to "D:" on your XP installation. Thus on the Parallels Desktop menu go to devices, CD/DVD1 and make sure that all your actual DVD player is called is selected (should be the vertical entry in the menu) - not true CD/DVD. The reader should then start and auto run.
    I hope this helps...
