Windows XP Internet problem

When im downloading or playing something on my PC, XP Media Center Edition 2005 and will randomly loses connection to the Internet. I can still play offline (if offline). But, in order to re-establish the Internet connection I have to turn off the computer and restart it. To its starting to irritate me, and I've had it for awhile. But sometimes if I'm REALLY lucky I can't just pop my thing on d-link and back inside and it would work, but above all he can't. I now have a corrupt graphics card I've had for about half of the year, but the problem of the internet has been there for more than a year, which means that it is not not because of the graphics card.

PS then as I was writing this I had the problem of the internet.

  • Solaine Veera - why in the computer Dell laptop, Windows 7 Internet problems occur?

    Hey,.

I'm Smayak Veera and work for a COMPUTER company in the United States.

I bought a Dell laptop for a few months now, and it is constantly with a watch "No Internet access" in the yellow icon. It is always the e-mail that I am connected but do not have access to the internet and I can not open Web pages, I own every connection and they are connected well. If I unplug the router and reconnect it works very well for 30-60 minutes but then I get the new icon.

Now, of course, I could just evey time turn off and re activate the connector wireless after every half hour but its boring and would rather it was fixed.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Waiting for your quick response.

    Kind regards

    Solaine Veera

Always include the exact model number and the version of Windows in your messages. And if it's a laptop, next time post in the forum of the laptop .

If I understand correctly, you are using a wireless connection to the router. Have you checked the Windows settings to see if WiFi is turned off "to save energy? Look in device for an entry-level WiFi Manager and double-click it to open it. If there is a power management tab, click it and look for a box "allow the PC shuts off... "and uncheck the box. Then restart.

Can the router is having issues?

Have you checked with your ISP?

  • Internet problems with a computer Windows 7 wireless

Hello. My problem is that I have an ACER with Windows 7 computer and I've had it for awhile (about a year or more). He never gave me no internet problem until a few days ago, when he started having connection problems. My computer has been without internet since two and a half days. Whenever I try to look for the problem, he tells me that the computer is connected to the router, but that router is not connected to the internet. I tried to restart the modem and the router several times without success. The thing is that, while my computer does not have internet, my cell phone and the computer of my partner (for laptop with Windows 7) do not seem have a problem using the same network of the internet, which makes me believe that the problem is in my computer.

I have a SB5101U of Motorola SURFBoard Cable Modem and a NETGEAR RangeMax 150 wireless router.

My computer uses an Atheros AR5B95 wireless network card. (My partner runs Realtek RTL8188CE wireless adapter)

Would it be a virus or something? Because I've scanned my computer with my antivirus to find something wrong, but it does not yet detect. Please help me and thanks a lot for any help or advice you can give me.

You have McAfee?  If so, see this "criticism" McAfee reviews -

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary. There are corresponding communications for their enterprise products.

I had to run their removal of McAfee Development tool a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

I got McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee you don't follow their procedure of fix would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated and, like other McAfee ads have since explained, the application did not refer to its database of threats correctly [and this could explain part of the variability of the symptoms of failure but all involved loss of internet connection]. Actually, I removed McAfee then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].

  • Install Adobe Flash Player on Windows and Internet Explorer?

Is - this now of paramount importance that Adobe Flash Player, will also be installed on Windows and Internet Explorer? After decades of semi - master the computer, I find this embarrassing question for me. Lately, Adobe Flash Player (Shockwave) has become a pariah for many due to its hostile structure and arrogance from Adobe to help! Up-to-date facilities have been substantially no problem. MS Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 SP 3 Norton Internet Security 2010

Start button...  Windows Update... immediately pops up a window of Internet Explorer 8, saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage."  with a diagnose connection problems button leading to say there is nothing wrong with the connection.  No error code is displayed.

Tried several times over several days.  Not good.  Tried to type the URL in the address field.  Same result.  Tried to access various Microsoft Windows Update web pages from within the Microsoft site.  Same result.  It almost seems as if "windows" & "update" is in the address, it does not connect.  I tried Windows malicious software removal tool.  No solution.  Tried all the Norton Scans.  No solution.  Completely removed Norton.  The same problem.

Windows Update worked until we made an update of Windows in 5/10, date at which we replaced Internet Explorer 6 with IE 8.  Since we cannot get Windows Update.

He could have something in the updates of Windows that blocks access to the updates?  He could have something in IE 8, which blocks access to updates?

Please don't give me the answer 'wipe the hard drive & reinstall Windows '.  It's a typical 'COMPUTING solution' which means 'I don't know what the problem, then that & everything will be fine.'  But in doing so, it will result in DAYS of relocation & configuration of all programs on my PC!  If you don't know the problem, tell (or do not).  If you KNOW what is really causing the problem and have a solution, I would be VERY grateful to hear from you.  Thank you.

I had this problem in my store with several client computers.

Scenario - IE browse websites ok. But when you try to manually run the updates of Windows, internet explore announcement that that the page cannot be displayed. The same also happens with Microsoft Updates.

I read a lot of discussion online, and many people do not yet have a solution.

Here's what I found... and every machine I have dealt with regard to this problem, in the last 4 months, have all had a rootkit virus infecting NETBT. SYS file in windows. Analysis tools more do not seem to pick up well. AVG, Malwarebytes, Norton... I know that these three would not pick it up.

Launch the latest Combofix it cleans well. If there is. And so far, I have managed to solve a good 6 computers by replacing the NETBT. SYS file.

So, if all else fails... check that. ;-)

With the help of an operating system older Compaq is professional Windows. Internet Explorer connected very slowly. SO I've reworded in safe mode with network and IE has worked very well. I installed Mozilla Firefox and then restarted in normal mode. Then Internet explorer would not connect. How to diagnose in safe mode. What does safe mode or safe mode with network do to help diagnose? Can someone help me solve this problem? Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

    Hi, Raymond J,.

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         What type of internet connection do you use?

    ·         What security software do you use?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: As the problem does not persist in SafeMode with network, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

Method 2: Follow the steps in the article.

My Windows XP has problems with shlwapi.dll and there are plenty of sites to download, but they all want money, why don't misrosoft not has an answer for this problem. When I try to update to internet explorer 6 to explore 8 then the error always pops up saying: you have a problem with shlawpi.dll and he can not continue... Very very frustrating.

In general, it is not a good idea to download dll files.   See, for example, http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findtheproblem/qt/dll-download.htm

If you explain more in detail what your problem is, including providing the full text of the error without paraphrase, it is likely that someone in the appropriate Microsoft Answers forum will be able to help.

Because it seems that your problem is related to Internet Explorer, you are more likely to receive help if you post in the forum Internet Explorer, where there are already many threads dealing with issues of shlwapi.dll on IE: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/Search/Search?SearchTerm=shlwapi&CurrentScope.ForumName=ie&CurrentScope.Filter=&askingquestion=false

If you look through some of these threads, you can find the answer to your question without further delay.  If not (or if you just want to watch), do not forget to include not only the text of the error message, but also the version of Windows XP, you have (Home, Pro, Media Center) and its service pack (start > run > winver > OK).

And, based on this thread - with what seems to be your exact problem - also include responses to the following questions (there no answer, certainly because the OP has NOT provided to the request for information):

    1. what application or anti-virus security suite is installed and is your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

    2. do you have a free trial Norton, or a test of free McAfee [a] come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).

I've attached a scan to an email, but it says "could not open the file C:\users\My Windows\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows |" Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\TQDLSO1A\etc, etc.

I'm probably not explaining my problem fairly - well, I scanned something in - I used Nuance Paperport.  I have it attached to an email and sent to six people - including myself.  I always open the attached file to make sure that the computer has sent the right thing.  When I tried to open the attachment I got the message "cannot open the file - I have already sent you."  I think that Norton Security got rid of the file I need.  I think I will contact them.  I tried to contact Nuance - but alas, my warranty has expired, so no help there unless I want to pay for it.  If I can't have the problem solved through Norton, I will contact you again.  Thank you very much for taking the time to try to help me.  Have a great Thanksgiving action!

    ================================================
Your explanation was nice... that was my answer that failed.

I was hoping that you would simply copy the scan of your temporary
Internet files folder and paste it on your desktop. Then you might
evaluate what is the problem. I thought that trying to open
with such a long way email could be a problem. And also... it's possible
be a file association problem. And it could be a matter of file size.

I understand that you care why the attachment to the email
failure and I think you need to find what is the problem with the scan
    before fastening will be successful.

  • Windows 7 Internet Explorer 11 Tracking Protection; Custom list parameters

Here's a question that the gurus of HP may be able to solve.

In Windows 7, Internet Explorer 11, the custom under protection of follow-up list blocks the browser when the 'settings' link is selected.

In searching the Internet, many people are affected by this problem, and from what I've read, Microsoft says that they cannot duplicate, but their forum is full of complaints.

So, that being said, someone at - it an idea how to solve this problem?

    I tried:

Restore the system to a way earlier

    Resetting the browser

Reset the advanced settings under the Options menu

In fact remove and reinstall IE program using the control panel after deleting the files I could access

programs and users profiles. It's pretty tight locked.

Don't know what else to do. Fortunately, I was able to track at least 3 tracks and block auto car before the thing went out, although he could have done no good! who knows?

I know it's typical Microsoft, but lets see if someone knows how crack this one. Yes?

    Hello @Dawntreader ,

I understand that you are experiencing the tracking protection with IE 11 crash. I don't know if you've tried this thread and yet there will deliver that to some people and I think you should look at and see if it can help you as well. The link is to a Microsoft Community thread: Tracking Your Personalized list of Protection blocks IE10. Although the solution is I believe IE 10 that the solution works as well for IE 11.

Please give it a shot and re-post if you need extra support. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!
