  • After a while, Windows XP Mode destroyed the host network resources contact

    Hello

Machine: HP Z210 Workstation, Windows 7 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM
Network: Mixed wired and wireless, D-Link
I use an old program in Windows XP Mode (Virtual PC). It works very well. We have set up a network printer, thanks to a shared printer on the host OS (Win7) and a folder mapped to the host computer. Anything that works. BTW, we use the shared printer to the impression of speed.
However, after a few days of use, XP mode is more able to access shared resources on the host machine. So it cannot print. He cannot access the mapped drive.  Internet still works.
I tried to turn on and off turning off the firewall and by reactivating the network adapters, update the drivers on both ends and reduce safety on the Win7 sharing. None of that helped him. XP restarting does not help. However, if I restart the host machine, everything works again.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
    Thank you
    James

  • Need to connect to the home network wireless - Windows XP Pro - error with network password - needs to be 40bits or 104 bits...

I have a new laptop at home which has windows xp sp 2 is installed.  I am trying to connect to my wireless network.
    I get the following error;
The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration.  This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii or 26 hexadecimal characters.

I gave my father a new laptop computer this fall and he gave me one that had given him his friend... I've never worked with XP Pro...

We have several other phones on this account wireless at home.

You try to login with the wrong encryption method and you have this implemented extremely secure wireless network.

Have a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Examples given are for a Linksys router. See the manual of your router or the router mftr's Web site. for the parameters by default if you don't have a Linksys. Open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the address bar type:

http://192.168.1.1 [Enter] (it is default IP address of the router, which varies from router to router then check your manual)

This will bring you to the login screen of the router. The default username is blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter this information. You are now in the configuration of the router utility. Your configuration utility may be slightly different from mine. The first thing to do is to change the default password because * all * known default passwords for different routers.

Click the Administration link at the top of the page. Enter your new password. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE. Re-enter the password to confirm it, and then click Save settings at the bottom of the page. The router will reboot and show you the box of connection again. Do not fill in the user name and put it in your new password to enter the configuration utility.

Now, click on the link wireless at the top of the page. Change the network name (SSID) wireless by default to something, you'll recognize. I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar. ;-)

Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). Most computers purchased during the last 4 years have the wireless hardware that will support WPA2-Personal (also known as WPA2-PSK). This is the desired encryption level. If your wireless hardware is older, use WPA. Don't use WEP, because who is easily broken within minutes. So go ahead and set the Security Mode WPA2-Personal. Do this and enter a password. For example, you could use the password ' here be dragons, beware you scurvy dogs! The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE.

At this point, your router is set up and if the computer that you use to configure the router will normally connect wireless, disconnect the ethernet cable and wireless of the computer should see your new network. Enter the password that you have created (exactly as you wrote it with all capital letters and punctuation) to join the network and start surfing. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Error with external / network API

    Guys,

I'm doing some tests on my lab environment, but not over and over again.

My deployment environment have 2 groups (mgmt and nova). The two have only 1 uplink, and the uplink is attached to a DVS with 2 groups of ports: management and external. Two of these PGs are related to VLAN 10.

The problem is that, even the deployment is going well, I can not access the API networks (external load balancing, for example).

I see LB machines have an eth0 (who works on the network in-house / balancing) and the eth1 with access 'external '. I am able to ping, the viomgr IPs on eth0 and the physical IP on eth1, but not the VIP of the eth1 (shown with ip addr command).

I don't know if this problem is related to something on DVS, NSX or any other thing. I just installed and reinstalled my environment using any means of different configuration and it does not work.

So I tried a stop of the load balancer and but this IP address on the machine eth0 and the API has worked well.

No idea why this problem with networking occurs?

Also, I tryied to set up NSX using frames, as well as MTU 1600.

    TKS in tips.

    Hi Ricardo,

One of the VIO requirements is that the direction and external port groups should use different network addresses. From what you described, it seems that you are using the same subnet for two groups of ports. If you are not able to transfer using different subnets, use these commands to work around the problem (run on the two load balancers):

    sysctl-w net.ipv4.conf.eth0.rp_filter = 0

    sysctl-w net.ipv4.conf.eth1.rp_filter = 0

It is not persistent if balancing charge are restarted. Note, that it is not a supported configuration and has specific security implications.

    Hope that helps.

    Best regards

    Karol

  • Windows 7 error 809 VPN client

    Good day to all,
First off, I want to thank everyone in advance for helping me with this problem. I am usually able to read through forums and usually lucky to find solutions, but this problem has no solution I found.

Here's my situation. I have Windows Server 2008 R2. I added the role, the network policy and access to launch the VPN server. My clients windows 7 are able to connect locally to the server. I configured my router to allow the following ports: 500, 1701, and 4500. When I connect via the internet by using a client windows 7, I get error 809 (the network connection between your computer and the VPN server could not be established because the remote server is not responding).
So, I decided to try another client. I am able to connect using my android via the internet without any problem. Only when I try to connect my clients to windows 7 I get this error. It seems that it has been configured correctly, but maybe I missed something. I have disabled the firewall on my server, client and router with no luck. So I started looking on the problem and was not able to find a solution to my problem. If anyone has other thoughts or ideas I'd be greatly appreciated the help.
    Thanks again.

  • C6280, win7 cannot print via active network with VPN

Hi, I have 2 PCs, one Vista, one on Win7. With Vista, I can print over the network.

Also, via USB on the win7 PC I can print.

But I can't print via active on the Win7 with VPN network. Without VPN, it works.

I had several problems with the installation of the SW. Finally it worked (I think I had to turn my VPN connection)

It recognizes the printer, the State says: ready, but when I print, I get an error after a while.

When I stop the VPN, I can print.

I tried to load the patch for Win 7 (recommended on HP circuit (printer disappears), but what it says that I don't have the SW right?)

    any idea?

    Hi ReneH,

I am pleased to hear that the problem has been resolved. Have a wonderful day.

  • Sharing internet connection with VPN in Windows 8

Previously with Windows 7, I put my VPN to share its connection to the Ethernet port on my laptop. So whenever it connects to the internet, my Xbox would take the connection too via Ethernet connected by VPN. But now after the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, I did the same thing, but the Xbox, or any other device that connects to my Ethernet port does not receive any internet connection, even if they do not recognize that they are connected to a network, but not to the internet. I also noticed that I can not customize the settings of network similar to that of Windows 7 where you can choose between home and professional Public and also to manage network access points where you can merge or delete network locations.

    @BedheadHusky

OOOha, the process too big, I struggled very and solve the problem with the following solution:
Just open space and restart services 'Internet connection sharing (ICS)"AFTER establishing VPN connection
or run the commands as administrator after HAVING establish VPN connection
    stop SC SharedAccess
    SC start SharedAccess
    It works for me.
    I don't understand what's wrong on Microsoft!
  • Windows system error: there is an IP address conflict with another system with the network. How do I remove this error message?

I just installed a new internet provider and all of my connections are working fine, but I constantly get this "Windows system error: there is an IP address conflict with another system with the network." I have my electrician of the internet modem connected to my office. I have also two wireless devices connected to the appearance of the Modem wireless. I constantly get this error message mentioned above, and I want to get rid of it.

This means that all that he says.  Your Windows system has an address that already exists on your local network.  Turn your system off and use a working system to locate this address and to which unit he belongs.  In most LANs, the router's DHCP server.  You may be able to ask the router which addresses are used and see what device uses this address, but I suspect not.

Duplicate addresses can occur when two systems received the same address manually, or when we got an address in the DHCP of the router range. It is unclear when this happened because he is not in control of the address and puts the address duplicate to a second system.  You need to track down, ensuring that all addresses manually asigned are out of the DHCP range, that you book the address of the router, if you want the device to use this address, or configure all devices to request the address of the router using DHCP.

After the upgrade yesterday from Vista to Windows 7, now my Cisco VPN does not work and I get an error message titled: grounds 440 driver fault.  Any ideas to fix this?

  • Problem with VPN

I have two problems with IPSEC VPN, using the cisco client, and a third, which I think could answer here if this isn't strictly associated with VPN.

    1. cannot access the internet, while VPN is in place. This can be a problem of client as I * think * I've split tunneling to install correctly.

    2. cannot access other networks except the network associated with the inside interface natively.

    3. I can not ping to the internet from inside, be it on the VPN or not.

I tend to use the SMDA; Please, if possible, keep the answer to this kindof of entry.

    Here is the config:

    Hey,.

Unfortunately, I do not use ASDM myself but will always mention things that could be done.

You do not split tunneling. All traffic either tunnel to the ASA, while VPN is active

You have the following line under the "group policy"

    Split-tunnel-policy tunnelspecified

You will also need this line

    Split-tunnel-network-list value

Defines the destination for the VPN Client networks. If you go in on the side of the ASDM group policy settings, you should see that no ACL is selected. You don't really seem to have an ACL in the configuration above, for the split tunneling?

To activate access Internet via the VPN Client now in the current configuration, I would say the following configuration of NAT

    VPN-CLIENT-PAT-SOURCE network object-group

    object-network 172.17.200.0 255.255.255.0

NAT (outside, outdoor) automatic interface after dynamic source VPN-CLIENT-PAT-SOURCE

In regards to the traffic does not for other networks, I'm not really sure. I guess they aren't hitting the rule NAT that are configured. I think they should, but I guess they aren't because its does not work

I could myself try the following configuration of NAT

    object-group, network LAN-NETWORKS

    object-network 10.2.0.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 10.3.0.0 255.255.255.128

    object-network 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 172.17.100.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 172.18.1.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 192.168.11.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 192.168.30.0 255.255.255.0

    object-group, network VPN-POOL

    object-network 172.17.200.0 255.255.255.0

NAT (inside, outside) static static source of destination LAN-LAN-NETWORK VPN-VPN-POOL

    Add ICMP ICMP Inspection

    Policy-map global_policy

    class inspection_default

    inspect the icmp

    or alternatively

    fixup protocol icmp

This will allow automatically response to ICMP echo messages pass through the firewall. I assume that they are is blocked by the firewall now since you did not previously enable ICMP Inspection.

  • BSOD with VPN Client problem

I use the VPN Client 5.0.06.0110 to connect to my computer at home at my desk, which has an ASA5505.  If my immediate network to the client PC connection is lost while the VPN is active, I get a BSOD.  There is no problem if my grave DSL or a cable beyond my router is disconnected.  He only (and always) will fail if the network cable to the computer running the VPN Client is cut (or if my router loses power), while the link is connected.

    I am running:

    Windows 7 (all updates installed)

    Pentium Core 2

    4 GB of ram

    Atheros L1 Gigabit 10/100/1000 controller

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

BTW, here is the description for your reference:

PC restarts if physical link is disrupted when a VPN connection

    Symptom:
Restart the computer (the user can also see a Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) before the reboot, based on the setup of the PC) if the physical link is disrupted when a VPN connection (that is when you see the error message "a network cable is unplugged).  This can occur if you run "shutdown" on your PC is connected to the way of the switch, turn off the SOHO router (or switch) the PC is connected to, lose your WiFi connection, or even disconnect the LAN cable to your wired Ethernet port.

    Conditions:
Loss of physical connection during a VPN connection.

  • Unable to share the printer attached to the XP with windows 7, receive error message: windows cannot connect to the printer: operation failed with error 0x000004f1.

Original title: printer HP LaserJet 4050 of PCL6 compatible with Windows 7?

I have a desktop windows xp pro (SP3 5.1.2600) and you have a printer HP LaserJet 4050 PCL6.  The printer works fine connected to the desktop computer with a parallel port.  I'm trying to share the printer on my home network so that Win 7 (6.1.7601 SP1) laptops can use its printing features.  Please help.

First I tried to add it with \\hostname\printername that returned this error: windows cannot connect to the printer: operation failed with error 0x000004f1.
Thanks in advance for any help / support!

    Hello

    1. the two Windows XP, Windows 7 connected in a same workgroup?

    2. can you access files shared XP of Windows 7 computer?

    3. check if the printer is shared or not?

I suggest you follow these methods and check.

HP LaserJet 4050 PCL6 printer is not compatible with Windows 7. Printer drivers are available for Windows XP-based computers only.

It is not in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center.

I sugegst you contact HP support for Windows 7 drivers, after you instaall drivers to check with the question.
