Windows Xp Pro with service pack 3
I bought Windows Xp Pro with SP3, but my computer is running very slowly. I tried to remove the service pack, but it won't let me. SP2 has been great, but I can't get it back to service pack 2 that the cd had already built in sp3
Hello
I suggest you try to optimize the computer once and check if it helps:

If you have any general questions about reinstalling Windows , please see this site:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/installing-and-reinstalling-WindowsInstallation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:Back up any files and settings you want to keep
Install Windows 7
Reinstall all your files
Reinstall all the programs you want to use.
These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.

CD/DVD driver removed from the registry in XP Pro with Service Pack 3
I think that my CD/DVD driver has been removed in the registry in XP Pro with SP3. It does not appear in the system, or Device Manager. I tried solutions provided Microsoft Fix - it and have had no success. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? If nothing else, what is and how can I attempt a remote restore? The CD/DVD drive has no access to the system path, so I can't use my recovery disk. Thank you!!
You have posted a question of Windows XP to a group of win7?
Assuming that it is a desktop computer turn off / shut off the current, open your case and verify / reconnect the cables to the cd
And at the end of the day, maybe your cd/dvd has not, I suppose that any other err devices listed in Device Manager?

I've lost my windows xp cd and it must be reinstalled I can do
Are you sure you've lost this CD? Maybe you had one. It is certainly the case with many PC manufacturers, which rather than provide a restore hidden on the hard disk partition.
What is the brand and model of your PC?
FWIW, it is in fact rarely necessary to reinstall Windows. What are your specific issues? Components that are missing? And why?
A faster and easier solution may very well be available!

Hour system malfunctioning after VPN - Windows XP Pro 2002 Service Pack 2
According to group policy, my system time is synchronized to the server of my company's time.
I can't change the time server. Not really sure where to look; It does not appear under properties of the time, in any case. When I'm at work on our local network, my time is set correctly. I can reboot, and everything is good.
When I'm at home or on the road and I have VPN into work, my time is correct until I restart.
After that I reload after a VPN session, my time is apparently on GMT + 0 (+ 4 hours where it should be).My zone control reveals that he is always set correctly (GMT - 5 w/DST + 1).
If I run "net time" in both cases, I get the name of our time server.Any help would be appreciated.

I have an auto build Windows XP pro with service pack 3 that is upwards and I feel the need to upgrade to a new motherboard and processor causes memory and I know that when I do a clean install with my original disk, I lose service pack 3 that will then lose me the Microsoft support is anyway that I can backup service pack 3 for use with what will be considered a brand new computer
See you soonThe site is authentic. You have two options when you do your relocation:
Method 1
- Download SP3 form the Microsoft site and burn it to a cd or copy it to a flash drive.
- Reinstall Windows with your original Windows XP CD.
- Use the copy of SP3 that you burned on the CD or copied to the flash drive and update the machine to SP3. Note that if you have an original CD of 'gold' of Windows XP without service pack that you install SP1a or SP2 before you install SP3, SP2 is available here , download and save it with SP3 before making your relocation.
Method 2
- Download SP3 from the Microsoft site and it wake to your Windows XP CD.
- Install Windows XP with your slipstreamed CD and your installation will be in SP3, when installation is complete you will not need to install service packs, you'll just have to do some other updates that have been released after SP3.
The http://lifehacker.com/386526/slipstream-service-pack-3-into-your-windows-xp-installation-cd is legitimate, it only gives you instructions on how to create and burn a CD of SP3 slipstreamed Windows XP. If this seems too daunting then use method 1 to install Windows.
Both methods are very good but method 2 allows a nicer cleaner installation, everything is installed to SP3 level and there are no remnants of previous service packs. While creating the slipstreamed CD may appear to be a time consuming task, in the end, it will be a time saver and afterwards if you ever have problems with the installation of Windows you may need this cd SP3 slipstreamed to all repairs on the installation. You can create the SP3 cd now and do it ready and at hand for future needs.

original title: error with ehshell.exe
I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe. Could you help me?
This problem exists since the 1st Media Center. SP2 and SP3 had a difficulty, but it is obvious that it doesn't always. The same problem still exists in Vista today with a lot of other carried over from XP. System restore would work, but you do not have any good restore points so reinstall an operating system seems to be your only option.
You probably don't want to do an OS reinstall you need for Media Center, but since it does not at all, you might want to play then remove the Media Center updates and or SP3 and reinstall them.
