Here we are, ok, I'm not an expert, but try this:

Right click on 'My images' > share > specific people... > select that you want to share this folder with.

    ...

After that, try to connect by using a different account. If you will not be able to open C:\Users\"FirstUser"\Pictures, you try to extend the network in the left pane of Windows Explorer > expand ComputerName > expand users > expand "FirstUser" > photos

    Hi kuentin,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    (1) - what do you mean you have only 1 user account?

When you set up Windows, you will need to create a user account. This account is an administrator account to allow you to set up your computer and install any programs that you want to use. And that's why the user account you are using is the administrator account.

There is no way that you can create an administrator account, or by using a Standard account.

  • How can I get the administrator rights on my user account?

    OT: Without administrator rights.

I don't have my active administrator account.

I had a user account that I removed myself from the group administrator.

Now I'm locked to do anything.

I can't assign me to the admin group, I can't allow the user to administrator, I can't edit some files or delete some software...

I tried cmd but get access denied when you try to activate the administrator account. It does not help if I open CMD or anything else with administrator privileges.

I can't open the recovery mode, tried to start in safe mode and all the rest.

How can I get the administrator rights on my user account?

I had a user account, which I removed myself from the group administrator.

-> This is called "paint yourself in a corner.

I tried cmd but get access denied when you try to activate the administrator account. It does not help if I open CMD or anything else with administrator privileges.

-> Is normal. Either you are an administrator, or you're not.

How can I get the administrator rights on my user account?

-> Ask a friend to burn a CD repair system for you (Control Panel / backup and restore). Now to use this CD to start the machine in Repair Mode, and then use the system restore to set Windows to a point before you downgrade your one and only the admin account.

When you're done, plan ahead a little and create, test and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

  • I need a program where I can look at a picture of embroidery design disc and then copy one stick for my sewing machine.

I wonder if any of the Adobe programs could help me and if so, which. I need a program where I can watch cartoons on a disk, choose one and save it on a memory stick, after which I would use the stick in my sewing machine.

    Hi ezperel,

Looks like we have similar hobbies!

That will depend entirely on what is the format of the files are on this drive. From my experience, most come with a PDF file that shows the designs included, as well as the file name of each drawing or model. If this is the case, you can use the free Adobe Reader to view the files of design. Then, you would use Windows Explorer or the Finder (on Mac OS) to copy the files you need for your USB key.

You can download the free Adobe Reader software from this page: Adobe Reader install for all versions

    Best,

  • I need to change the OS between my 2 computers (Windows XP and 7) where I can download the necessary files?

I have a laptop with a valid license of Windows 7 and a desktop computer with a valid XP license. I think I would get more use from 7, if it was on my desk and would be willing to downgrade my laptop to XP (it runs very slowly regardless). However because I bought the laptop with Windows 7 installed I have a Windows 7 disc. Where can I download or order a new copy of the disc?

UPDATE: The license I have is for Windows 7 Home Professional.
UPDATE: The license I have is for Windows 7 Home Professional.

There is no such thing as 'Friendly' - it is Home Premium or Professional.

As others have said - if your copy of WIndows came pre-installed, then they are OEM editions which cannot be transferred to another computer in all circumstances.

You can buy a license to upgrade to WIndows 7 for use on your desktop - but I suggest that you run upgrade first Advisor to ensure that the material can support the operating system properly.

Insofar as your laptop is slow, it's usually because of too much loading at startup, or malware.

Do you have an anti-virus installed up-to-date? When was the last time you ran a full system scan?

You have all the other anti-malware installed apps?

Check what programs are loaded at startup - and which are loaded as Add - ons for Internet Explorer. Use the options in the program to stop everything you must actually run at startup (you can test temproarily using MSCONFIG, but use the options of the program for more permanent effects.)

    I don't have a Windows machine.

What type of machine are you tempted or need to install Windows on? You can download the installation of 90 day trial Windows Enterprise 8.1 it then use it to facilitate the download of Windows 8 Pro.

The 90 day trial of Windows Enterprise 8.1 is provided as one. ISO file you can burn it to a blank DVD and install on a blank hard disk or a partition:

  • the profile user account folder can be renamed instead of create a new user account

I noticed this issue posted everywhere that none got the answer, the person posting was looking for.  Basically, the question is "can the folder of the user profile account be renamed? '...  I have the same problem.  I sent a PC in for repair.  They reloaded the operating system and created the new test user account.  Rather than just create a new user account, I've renamed the test NAME user account.  I couldn't help but notice later that user account folder name has remained the same "TEST".  That's why you have people to ask the question "can the folder of the user profile account be renamed instead of create a new user account."  It of an easy fix but does not answer the question.

It is not usually. If you have a computer, why not have just him take care of it for you instead of friction top yourself? ;-)

Try this instead if you really must do it yourself:

    1. create a new administrator account. Call it 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar. You definitely want to have an administrative user account like this set up that you will use not except for emergency situations. You will use this in the elevation of privileges in your daily report - which will be a Standard account - but will not need to connect to CompAdmin after that company copy unless something goes terribly wrong. ;-)

    2. create a new user account Standard for your daily work. This called something that makes you happy. I don't know your real name, so I'll call it "HDXer". Connect to HDXer to create the profile files/folders.

    3. connect to CompAdmin and:

    a. Control Panel > everything on the control panel > Folder Options

    b. click on the view tab, click hidden files and folders, clear the Hide protected operating system files check box and then click OK. Now you can see everything.

    c. using Windows Explorer ("computer"), search for the file C:\Users\Test.

    d. Select all files and folders in this folder, except the following files: Ntuser.dat, Ntuser.dat.log and Ntuser.ini.

    e. click on the Edit menu and then click on copy. If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.

    f. Locate the C:\Users\HDXer folder.

    g. click the Edit menu and then click on paste. If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.

Sign out and then sign back in as a HDXer. All your stuff should be there. You need to configure your icons and wallpaper (Control Panel > Personalize) and some preferences have been postponed, but really with the exception of the email all your data, Favorites, etc., should now be at the HDXer.

If you have messages in an e-mail program, such as Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird or Outlook, you must import your e-mail messages and addresses to the new user profile before you delete the old profile. Because I don't know what you use for email, I can't give you the details about it. If everything is working properly, you can remove the old Test profile by using the user accounts applet in Control Panel. It won't hurt anything to make you leave the trial on the system for a while, or even forever.

  • I locked myself in one of my user accounts - I have reset the password and can not remember what it is

URGENT! -I'm locked in one of my user accounts - the system won't let me not reset the password

You said that you had to reset the password, but forget what it is.
Do you then remember the previous password?
    1. If you remember the previous password until you did reset.
    2. If you have the DVD drive or Vista repair.
    3. If there is a restore point which a logon succeeded.
This works in cases where you changed your password to something new and then has forgotten or deleted a user account by accident. So that this works, there must be a restore point from the system during which logging has managed for the account of the problem. In addition, this isn't a problem if you are in a domain environment because the domain administrator can always reset your password.

If you meet the above conditions, then use this tutorial:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/how-to-regain-access-to-your-administrator-account-in-Windows-Vista-using-system-restore/

Otherwise, we are not allowed to help users to bypass the password protection, regardless of what are "reasons".

  • Firefox 9.0.1 "apply the update"? I can't get Firefox 9.0.1 to install and be usable by the other account on our desktop. as the administrator that the update is installed, other user accounts cannot get beyone 'Apply Update' - what is happening?

Sorry for the long question. The issue is that totally impossible to install Firefox 9.0.1, so it can be used by the two user accounts on this desktop computer. I tried several times to download the update and install when running the second user account. It does not seem to install - page 'About' Watch 'Apply Update' - which then seems to do nothing. When I go to the primary account user Firefox is fully installed and functional.

If files have already been downloaded, then delete the files in the folder of updates\0 and updates or you need to run Firefox once as administrator on each account where the files for the update has been downloaded.

You can also remove active - update.xml, or even updates.xml (stores the history of update).

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
    (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)

The "Application Data" in XP/Win2K folder and the folder "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

    Hi SarahWest,

No, they will not see items that you have saved on your desktop in your user account.  Each user account has unique settings and preferences.  See the following article for more information:

  • Switching between user accounts my Windows Firewall is still disabled?

Recently created a new user account on my Windows Vista just for my girlfriend and I can keep things separate and I noticed that whenever I connect to the newly created user account, it goes through the normal boot process but then I see that the shield of WF on the bottom right of the screen is red and it warns me that the Windows Firewall is not on.  I can simply click and put it back on but why is - this?  Whenever I sign with my other user account, the firewall is already turned on.  I think I checked all the appropriate settings, but I can't work. It would be a disappointment if the firewall must be enabled manually whenever it connects...

    Humor me.

Create an another useraccount with exactly the same type of account that you have problems with.
Ligon to this newly created account. Is also turned off firewall on ot?

If the firewall is OK to this new account, then for some reason the other account is damaged.
