Installation of vista Home premium errors!
When you try to install windows vista family premium, it says
"Device drivers are not found", it also says the operating system - UNKNOWNHow can I solve this problem? I have the real windows vista upgrade cd.Help, please! The problem is the cd 'upgrade '. It assumes that you have a system on the computer that has not been upgraded to Vista, XP or Windows 2000. You need a full installation disc. Vista is old, you might have trouble getting a Vista disc, but you might get lucky and they will send you a disc of Windows 7 If you call your computer support team (if it is a possibility). Otherwise, install Windows 2000 over there and improve it with your upgrade disc. It should work.

Cannot start XP installation on Vista Home Premium preinstalled Satellite L40-139
Here's the problem:
I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L40-139 in Austria and comes preinstalled Vista. OK, Vista is in German, and I don't know German. But I made a choice to learn German and to start using a Vista. After a month Vista drives me crazy (no language, just for Vista) and I want to just install XP. I didn't need something more.
I spent more then five days trying to archive this, but without success and I am disappointed, much.I put aside all types of teaching and I did a lot of things, but none of them helped me.
So the problem is like this:
I made the partition for XP, so I have two partitions as: Vista (C), (D) XP and Datas (G) and my CD/DVD (E :).
I activated just boot from the CD/DVD, but when I insert the CD and start the installation of Vista it tells me something like this:
Press any key to boot from CD...
When I do that, I get a message, which is very fast where it says something like that, (I'm not quiet sure what it says because it's fast):
Checking your configuration...
After that, nothing happens, don't know why, I just get black monitor and CD/DVD does not work anymore? It's driving crazy me and I can't install XP.
It seems that does not recognize the CD/DVD, and I tried with several XP bootable CD/s and they work on my desk. Can someone help, please, because I'm going crazy?
If you have installed XP on this notebook L40 Vista you need a BIOS update to the XP version. All that s

How to: fix Windows Vista Home Premium SP2
I don't have a CD or DVD containing the operating system I use now. I DO NOT WANT TO REINSTALL or RECOVER the operating system. I would lose a lot of valuable information.
I would be sincerely grateful to find a 'repair' for this operating system. Microsoft offers a service to REPAIR an existing installation of Vista Home Premium?
Jeff
Hello
Microsoft does not include disks for OEM preinstalled computers, Acer, HP, brands etc.
a repair install is performed from a vista operating system
you will need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation
read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation
and note the part about uninstalling Service Packs, if necessary
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html
And if you need to do a startup repair and that you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, read this:
the link below is how to download and get a vista disk startup repair, which you can start from the
http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
Here's how to use startup repair system restore command prompt, etc. to bleepingcomputers link below
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start
It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu
Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order
http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/change-boot-order-XP-Vista/
If you ever reinstall Vista
Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence
or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Vista Home Premium SP2 installation problems
SP2 says its installed but Windows Update shows it as an available update. When I view the system information, it still shows only installed SP1. I tried the standalone install and I got error 0 X 80070564 connection failed. SP2 shows as has been properly installed on Windows updates the history but it shows also the lack of installation after 2-3 hours to install, restart, then back to sp1. I stop all AV, Spyware, adware, Windows Defender by other items on the SP2 installation problems. I also ran system preparation and the System File Checker. I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit on computer laptop HP DV5 Dual Core. I have not found anything on the failure error connection displayed in the standalone sp2 update.
Hello vinniegolf, welcome.
I would recommend trying to create a new user account with administrative privlages and you try to upgrade to SP2 from here. This will tell us if it has something to do with the internal components of your user account. You can create an account via START > Control Panel > usersLet us know what happens

Installation of Age of Empires (gold) on a Vista Home premium OS.
I have Age of Empires Gold Edition I bought quite earlier.
After having moved the House and updated my pc I tried to install it on my new laptop. It is running Vista Home premium. The program works through installation installed 100% and then stops. Close the window by using 'X' and then when you start it tells me to insert the correct disk (because it deleted the files installed during the closure of the facility). Gold is not compatible with vista?
Thank you
I think it should work. Try, right click on the installer and choose "Run as Administrator" and see if it works for you.

Why Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit installs not Windows updates?
I am not able to download and install Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit windows update. This Gateway laptop has always been able to quickly and easily install the update by clicking windows update. However, since the introduction of Windows 10 it has been a lot of your time trying to install updates. I had this same problem with Windows 7 too. Never before there was no problem for the two operating systems. Installation of Windows updates has always been easy and fast without any problem. Running the troubleshooting isn't good and hunting error codes has been unproductive. What the hell is happening?
Hi Joe Cool1:
'Check for updates...' crashes and slow Windows updates currently affect the SP2 for Vista and Win 7 SP1 users, and I doubt it's a coincidence that Microsoft has ended mainstream support and only provides support for these two operating systems. The evidence points more to a problem with the Windows Update Agent (WUA Vista, C:\Windows\system32\wuaueng.dll v7.6.7600.256 has not been updated since June 2012) and the problem tends to be more prevalent on computers with slower processors and a limited amount of RAM.
There are step-by-step instructions posted on 16 June 2016 wire m #l's updates doesn't work do not, he has been looking for updates to the hours which should speed up Windows Update for both for Win 7 SP1 and SP2 for Vista. The instructions were for users of Vista, so when you reach step 4 just use the appropriate links of Win 7 on the page Web of Dalia http://wu.krelay.de/en/ (Win 7 x 64 if you have 64-bit Win 7 OS;) Win 7 x 86 if you have a 32-bit Win 7 OS) to download packages update stand-alone correct (.msu files) for missing Windows kernel mode driver (Win32K.sys) updates on your Win 7 machine.
You can also find some useful tips in entry 9 August 2016 Microsoft MVP Woody Leonhard on his Woody on Windows InfoWorld blog titled 2 easy steps to speed up scans of Windows 7 update that includes detailed instructions for the use of circumvention of Dalai to http://wu.krelay.de/en/. Woody's workaround for Dalai to speed up Windows Update to users as well Win 7 SP1 and SP2 for Vista.

Vista Home Premium, Installation of SP2 problem
Dell Inspiron laptop computer with Vista Home premium.
When I try to install sp2 it fails when a box pop up appears entitled "spinstall.exe - Unable to locate component" with the following message: -.
"This application has failed to start because sqmapi.dll not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. »
This happens as well with the update and sp2 download. Any help / suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello dazedandconfuzed, welcome.
I recommend you try a SFC scan first. If this fails, we can try to manually find the DLL file referenced in the error message and see if there are any problems with the file itself.
Try this:
1. click on START
2. Type "cmd" (without the quotes). Right-click on the result at the top of the menu START and select 'run as administrator '.
3. type sfc/scannow , and then press on enter
4. then restart your computerLet us know what happens
