Wireless antenna cannot be turned on (P10)

I bought the wireless pci card PA3300U-2MPC card (Atheros AR5001X +) for my satellite p10 251 (Win XP Home). Using installation guides, I installed it with precaution, connected with black and white cables. Then installed the driver, after that the Atheros software. The result - the wireless connection does not work. Configfree software both Atheros bring the message "turn on the wireless switch", but the switch is in position "On". When I press Fn + F8, it's the same message.

The device is compatible with my laptop, according to the ebay seller. I also found on the Internet a Toshiba-Schwitzerland pdf file, when it is shown, that this card is compatible with all mobile phones of P10.

Does anyone have an idea, what the problem?

Hi gav

Is the map propely recognized and installed (Device Manager status)?

Try using the ConfigFree tool. This network of application monitoring can give you information on potential connectivity problems. On the right side, you can find possible solutions.

Good luck!

  • Wireless radio cannot be turned on

    Hi all!

I have a laptop SL500 2746-FMG with Intel wi - fi card. A few weeks ago I noticed that a wi - fi connection gets too often (every 3-5 minutes). I checked the signal strength of my access point, but it was good (-30...-40dB) and another PC on a longer distance worked well.

I tried to reinstall the drivers for the card, but after that procedure, the status of the radio is always disabled if the hardware switch is turned on, the led is green. When I try to power the device using the Fn + F5 window, nothing happens: the status is always off.

I tried to reinstall the drivers several times, even delete driver manually and then put it back: Device Manager indicates that the device is functioning correctly, LED lights up green but status is always off

What could be the reason? Appreciate for any help

I think that Reinstall Access Connections means it should first be completely uninstalled. I don't see any other different actions of the first Council.
Spent some time to recover from an August backup system drive - now everything works fine. It was quite difficult step, but nothing.
I assumed that the cause of the problem was soft (updates from Lenovo are not excluded). So I strongly recommend you to do the regular backups of your system, just in case this kind of problems.

  • Wireless Manager cannot connect to 3G T-Mobile provider

    Hi @ all,

I test the Toshiba Wireless Manager 5 (5.2.1047.66) on Windows 7 RC1 64 bit and I have the problem, that the Toshiba Wireless Manager cannot connect to T-Mobile. He always timedout while trying to connect.
I don't see why. If I use a numbering Windows connection then I'll connect to the ISP network.

    does anyone have an idea?

    Kind regards

    Alen Ahja

    Hello

The profile used is taken from your provider's SIM card - do not try to create one yourself. He usually works with the settings.

    Try this:
    1. disable the 3 G module and exit the Wireless Manager.
    2. wait 5-10 seconds.
    3. turn on the 3 G module, and then open the Wireless Manager.

    Should work?

I have the problem that the module disconnects after a while. After it is not possible to reconnect because the Wireless Manager does not respond or I get a problem of downtime as yours.

    See you soon

When I go to Device Manager I find conflicts in "other devices" for

    3 unknown Device

Tried updating drivers connecting via ethernet cable to the modem, but nothing helped.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

Have you installed the driver WLan?
The laptop seems to be equipped with the Atheros AR9285 WiFi card and in most cases the Fn + F8 key does not work because the Wlan driver is not installed or is not working properly.

Recommend first of all remove the network card wireless from Device Manager, then restart the laptop. After restarting again install the new driver Atheros Wlan downloaded for this wlan card.

Here you can find all the drivers Wlan published by Toshiba:

  • F20 - 132 - can I connect a wireless antenna in the antenna of my TV connector?

Hi... I think I missunderstood something when I read the manual of my laptop... maybe someone can help me with this problem

It is possible to connect a wireless antenna uses the same input, used for the TV antenna?

Currently I use an adapter (supplied with my laptop) for my cable TV to work, but without this adapter I can plug an antenna wireless in there?

This seems really strange, but that's what I heard in my manual... or the translation of the English-Portuguese was bad: P

Can someone explain if I can plug an antenna and what type and which connector I need.

THX in advance and sorry for my rusty English

    Hello

The adapter is needed to connect the antenna cable, because the antenna cable supports different jack. If the wireless antenna must have the same cable as a normal antenna if cable adapter is required.
Maybe the 3rd party Wlan antenna has an own map but I n t think so.

If it worked before wiping the disc, then it is likely, you are missing a player specific to material not included in WIndows XP.  Log on to the gateway website and download the drivers for the chipset and network.  Naturally, you will need to use a wired network connection.

In general, Gateway provides the drivers specific to the hardware on a recovery of the system partition, and they also provide a tool so you can burn data on CD/DVD restore.  Do you stil have this partition or did you remove it?

Every time I buy a PC, I always download copies of the material of the web site of the vendor-specific drivers and keep them on a flash drive, so that they are available when I wipe a PC and reinstall.  I also do the recovery partition recovery disks.

Use the Windows key + R on the keyboard or click on start, select run.

    Click OK.

Make sure that the Security Center service is enabled and started.
Probably, you will need to click Start to start the service.

  • Satellite P10: Wireless Radio refuses to turn on

I got a wireless Broadcom BCM4306 (mini-PCI) adapter and put it in my laptop. The specifications of the laptop are:

Toshiba Satellite P10, 768 MB of RAM (256 upgrade) & 2.66 GHz P4 (HT disabled).

The wireless adapter works on another laptop, but not on this one as the guard software complain that the radio is turned off. In the Windows wireless network configuration, it is enabled, but the software doesn't seem to see it. The wireless switch is turned on, but the wireless light is not on i assuming that it lights up when a wireless adapter is present and active. By pressing Fn + F8 does nothing more, no logo appears on the screen for this function or makes no noise.

I have no idea what is the problem, but any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I read in the forums that covering the 11 pin and PIN 13 of the mini-pci card can make your card can be used. However, it seems that there is no way, for now, to make the change in hardware to work.
You can do a search in this forum, or if you can go on TechSpot.com forum and do a search for "Toshiba Wifi network" in "storage and networking", you will find the message in question. As for me, I got a Toshiba (g) MiniPCI card in my Tecra 9100. It works, but the hardware switch does not work. (The led is off, regardless of the position of the switch hardware, but the card works and there is absolutely no problem to connect. If you discover something, thanks for posting.
    Good luck!

  • Wireless network card cannot be turned on

I have a Gateway t-6330u that I recently had to reformat the hard drive and when Vista was reinstalled the driver for the wireless network adapter was missing. I downloaded the correct driver for it, but now Windows fails to activate the wireless network card. The hardware switch is turned on, but in the windows Mobility Center, it won't let me turn on the wireless network card. I tried to repair it with the windows network diagnostics, but it is also unable to turn on wireless networks. Then he told me he tried a repair but the problem persists. After trying a few times he gives up and tells me to contact my network administrator. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi adht450,

This problem can occur because of an older version of the driver that you need to update.

Click Start> type in Device Manager in the start search > expand NICs in Device Manager > right click of network card > click Properties> click on Driver tab > click on update drivers> click OK.

You can view the following link to update the drivers:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

You may need to look into the security WPA and WPA2 keys, you will probably need to change this.

  • J9M28UA #ABA: cable for white missing wireless antenna? or this laptop doesn't have it?

I jumped out of the back of my new laptop to see why my internet wasn't working all the time. Turns out the wire black antenna has not been pushed all the way so it kept popping market.

But I noticed that the white wire is not there? I got this laptop only for 2 weeks so I was wondering if the new hp 15 inch touch screen laptop windows 8.1 this lack on an accident or done this way?

I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal or if it was an oops of the company and the lack of white wire?

Thanks to anyone with an answer.

I included the picture of what it looks like - I went through all the info just in case by case

    Hello:

Some models with wireless cards single band (2.4 GHz) come only with a single antenna.

I have no idea why HP did this because two antennas on a single band card would provide to improve wireless reception.

By the part number on the wireless card, I see that it is a Realtek 8188EE model which is a single band card.

HP do not make a mistake and leave out an antenna.
