Wireless button remains orange. Lights on.

Hi there, I'm having some problems with my laptop recently. The wireless won't turn on no and stays out of little matter how many times I press the button of the wireless switch which is above the keyboard, remaining always this color orange relics indicating that the wireless is disabled.

Number and name of the product: Compaq Presario CQ50-215 - 215 CA

Operating system: Windows Vista 32 - bit OEM

(As appropriate) error message : error no. a little. First time I press the wireless button, the popup Assistant wireless HP says "WLAN: Off '. I have a second time and wrote "WLAN: Disabled" and the cycle repeats when I press on it a bunch of times.

Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred: that's what I think the problem is a few days before my wireless doesn't work anymore, I had my battery disconnected and just running off the AC adapter. My father accidentally disconnected my AC while it was spend vacuuming the living room. At the STATION, I got a cmos checksum error message. Computer started normally with an incorrect time/date in the bios, but at the time when internet was still functioning. Fast forward to a few days later, my wireless and then stops working.

Other info/Thins, I tried

-J' I goto manage network connections-> there is a red x on my wireless network connection icon but on click right he said he his 'active' with only the option to disable. Click on diagnose and he said: "on this computer's wireless capability is turned off."

-J' I goto the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi adapter properties screen and the device status says "this device is working properly.

-I go into the Device Manager and theres no "!" or whatever it is on my network cards.

-Tried to get into the bios and see if there was something on my adapter wireless that has been disabled, but the only thing I could find was an option in the boot order allowing to map internal network starts when the laptop starts. Tried to activate / deactivate options, and nothing really happened.

-I can still take an ethernet cable and I work ok on my Wired internet.

-Tried to uninstall the driver/restart the computer. Upon restart, it reinstalled the drivers but the wireless still won't turn.

At this point, for me, it seems that it is a hardware problem and kinda outta luck. Had this laptop about 3 years and a little really need yet for the school. Can anyone suggest what I can still check/fix?

try to reinstall your wireless card... thiscould help to make...

My HP Pavilion Notebook PC g4 has trouble with the WiFi button. Usually, the button remains orange and does not respond by pressing. Rarely, when I turn on the laptop, the button is blue, but the laptop freezes as soon as I try to do anything. I tried to do a hard reset, update driver, uninstall the device in Device Manager, and nothing worked.

Here are the specifications of my laptop:

    Product number: LW338UA #ABA

Name of the WiFi card: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller

    Driver Version number: 7.34.1130.2010

Version number of the BIOS: F. 22

Yes, I think it would be the only other choice you have.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

Chapter 4 will have removal and replacement procedures.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03137358.PDF

Try two things before buying a replacement card:

    1. do a hard reset of the laptop to see if it gets the card appears.

Link to get instructions on conduct which is below.

    http://h10010.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us & LC = on & DLC = in & docname = c01684768

    2. Remove and reinsert the current wireless card.  Maybe an oxidized connection?

If the steps above fail to get the wireless card appears, then I just get the part number and order the same.

The part number will normally be on a sticker white and arranged as such: #-#.

It is very important that purchase one of wireless cards supported listed in the service manual for your laptop (Chapter 3).

They must be part of HP on the map number or it will not work.

If the replacement of the wireless card fails to correct the problem, the motherboard has failed somehow.

  • Lack of wireless and wireless adapter led remains Orange. HP Pavillion DV 2745se

I'm working on a HP Pavillion DV 2745se. The laptop runs Windows Vista Edition Home Premium (from restore HP) - 32-bit, the unit was having a problem with speed and was running hot. After restoring the system, running and cleaning of the cooling system of debris the machine works well, except for the wireless card does not exist within the operating system. As the announcement of another user on 23/06/11, I have the same symptoms with the wireless adapter: my wireless button is orange instead of its normal blue light and clicking it does not change it to blue light. Everything that is displayed in the network card in my device manager is my ethernet and not my Wireless LAN that allows to display. Also, the wireless adapter is not found in the---> Mobile PC Control Panel---> adjust commonly used mobility settings. HP Network Assistant also does not work, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled. At the start screen, I get a notice indicating that the Wireless Module is not found. I made: 1) Unseated and re-installed wireless adapter at least a dozen times. Restore system restore 2) Ran HP, return the machine as a factory 3) ensured there were any errors in the network adapter in the Device Manager 4) "sleep" mode disabled in power management in the Device Manager 5) removed from the wireless adapter and put the card in an another good known laptop and the card works. (b) disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery and then press in and hold the button for at least 1 minute. (c) reconnect the AC power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the switch and check is this problem is solved or not. ((d) and added, I.) In the BIOS & "reset to factory defaults" ii.) Unplug the battery CMOS and connect battery and reset the time. ((7) the laptop via battery Ran only 8) ran the laptop through the power supply only 9) booted up the laptop with the Ubuntu operating system via a USB and that the operating system could not 'find' the adapter wireless laptop is acting, as it is off, but in addition to the power switch on the front of the laptop that always remains orange , it doesn't seem to be any other places to manage the On / Off function. Unlike other laptops, this laptop BIOS does not offer the ability to manage the wireless adapter. It is not the end of the world if I can't get this device work, that I use a USB WiFi adapter with the laptop, but would be nice. Oh by the way, if you have a laptop running slow and it is a few years old and you think it is running more hot as before, you can clean the cooling associated with the cooling system fans.

    Hello:

These notebooks have been prone to problems of heat. It was also known that excessive heat caused damage to wireless networking.

This is probably one of 2 things:

    1. the heat pulled out the wireless card.

    2. the heat pulled the motherboard components that operate the wireless network as the mini-PCIe slot card.

    (2) Made that wireless LAN is enabled in the BIOS screen
    (3) guarantees that there aren't any errors in the network adapter in Device Manager

    (6) restoration of the system to a working condition previously.

I did this and my wireless adapter is still not found. If she showed upward then at least I can turn it on if it had become invalid, but this is not yet the case. Outside, nothing is broken. So I have no idea on what to do.

  • Pavillion dv9000 wireless is no longer and the light remains orange

A few days ago I was on the internet when the internet on my laptop suddenly began to spoil, so I restarted my laptop and now the wireless in no longer works. When I turn the switch on and outside, the light remains orange and don't return to the blue. He connects well with, I use an Ethernet cable, but I need a portable MOBILE! I can't be tied down!

I bought my laptop used a few months ago because it was cheap and I needed a college, and when I got it, it had Windows 7 above. I think I might be able to try to reinstall the wireless driver, however, I can't find one that fits my BONES. In addition, I don't even know if that would help. I am so lost on this and I really need help!

My laptop has a bad battery and my brother also has a Pavilion dv9000 and his video card was released a few weeks ago... At this rate, if no one can help me for free (since I am a broke student, I can't afford to pay for this problem and because I have nothing to break this.) ( hp should extend his warranty since it is their defective product), I will never buy hp again, and I'll start to know how many of these products are a pit of money and how little HP seems to care about their customers!

For me, it is a hardware failure. I tried your solution, but it did not work.

I don't remember if I mentioned earlier in this thread, but I had a family member (who knows a lot about computer) look at my laptop. He traded my module wireless for the other wireless modules he knew worked, but none of them worked. My wireless module worked in his laptop computer, but not in mine. So, even if I had bought a new wireless module, it would not have helped. The guy who looked at my laptop even done a factory reset, but it still did not help.

In the end, we learned that my motherboard does not accept more wireless modules. And this laptop is known for having so many hardware failures, it's not worth buying a new motherboard. For now, I'm stuck with a wireless adapter until this laptop terrible finally stops right turn.

    EDIT:
This isn't really a solution; It is not really a big part of the solution in my case because my wallet isn't bottomless (even if that were the case, I doubt that I had still shell out money to buy a new motherboard - I would just buy a new laptop). But it is a conclusion and what I discovered.
Pavilion dv9000 is that a waste of money and time, and HP is no longer offer a useful support to the Pavilion dv9000 users.

I am runnng Windows 8 on a HP Pavilion g4. I've been a play a game with turned off wifi, wired lan wire and battery, mode high performance. The game crashed, I turned off the laptop with power button. Hello

Just look for the symbol of the antenna wireless next to the power he touches self or you can check the F12 there could be your wireless button.

    Using the wireless button
The computer has a wireless one button or several wireless devices and one or two lamps wireless.
Depending on the model. All wireless computer devices are activated at the factory, so that the
Wireless light is on (blue) when you turn on the computer.
The wireless light indicates the overall status of your wireless devices, not the status of person in power
devices. If the wireless light is blue, at least a wireless device is turned on. If the wireless light is disabled, all the
    wireless devices are turned off.
NOTE: On some models, the wireless light is orange when wireless devices are turned off.
