Bib Hello and welcome to the forum,

What interface your wireless LAN is mapped to?

The issue of the CLI:

Show wlan summary.

It depends what WLAN on your AP really corresponds.

In addition, what is the DHCP server configured in the guestwlan of the interface?

Run the command:

show inetrface detailed guestwlan

Kind regards

Amjad

    Hello

After reading the questions on this forum with a static IP address on the Freescale FRDM-K64F set, I went for a DHCP address, but I can't get the proxy client to work via USB with DHCP connection either.

  • Wireless clients do not well known default trust certification authorities?

I use for wireless PEAP-MSCHAPv2 authentication.  The radius server is a Windows 2008 network POLICY server.  The customers consist of a bunch of laptops (especially on Windows).  Not all of these laptops are members of Active Directory.  Then, pushing any kind of policy to all customers is not feasible (ie.) using a public key private and AD infrastructure to push the server cert and Setup wireless for all members of the domain.  So we decided to use a public key public infrastructure and got a certificate for our radius by a known CA server.  So far so good.

When customers go to connect, they still get a nasty WARNING saying:

    -STARTUP-

The credentials provided by the server could not be validated. We recommend that you break the connection and contact your administrator with the information provided in the details. You still can not connect, but doing so exposes you to risks of a possible unauthorized server security.
    Details
    RADIUS server: $radius
    Root CA: $ca
The '$radius' server provided a valid certificate issued by "$ca", but "$ca" is not configured as an anchor of confidence valid for this profile. In addition, the '$radius' server is not configured as valid a NPS server to connect to this profile.
    -STOP-
(I replaced the name of the actual radius with $radius server and the CA with $ca).
Do a little digging, it seems that it is just the expected behavior of the Windows wireless client?  What is the point to get a cert signed by a well-known certification authority, if the customer is still going to get a warning nasty like that?
Web browsers certainly do not behave like that.  The only difference between a web browser and the wireless client is a browser, you're still going after a URL (IE, you can match what the browser wants to connect to compared to what CN on the server cert is back with) while on the wireless client, you usually won't know the radius server you want to authenticate.  But, in both cases, the server cert is signed by a CA that is known.
I found a good post that talks about, but no solution:
Well, I guess that one solution is to manually configure the client for the certificates issued by the CA of confidence and/or configure my radius server in the connection profile.  But that requires the configuration of each client.  And there is no way that we can use AD to push a policy/cert to all customers.
    So my questions are:
-is that really the expected behavior?
-so trust generally the default case browsers whose certificates are stored on the operating system by default, but not wireless adapters?

    Hello

I'm not an answer full but just putting my 2 cents.

This problem is related with the begging of Windows wireless. Absolutely not your wireless adapter.

CSSC or Intel ProSet behave differently. (So if you have cards intel, you can check this option).

But I confess that I've never tried the authentication of the well-known certificate with a public cert of a certification authority

  • Pwerconnect 6224: vlan client computers do not receive the ip address of DHCP server on a different VLAN

    Hello

I have a prolem routing dhcp requests between the vlan management where DHCP server resides and the other VLANs.

I have the scenario of base with three VLANS: vlan 10 (management vlan), 20, 30, configured on a Powerconnect 6224 switch L2 mode. This switch is connected to a pfsense router. The router is configured at the package of road between the VLANS and it does it well.

In Vlan 10, I have a configured DHCP server to use the ip addresses of all the VLANS (10, 20, 30). VLAN 10 client computers receive ip address but not others from other VLANs.

When I put the ip address in the appropriate range of VLANs manually on computers, I ping the server and I have connectivity.

This suggests that the problem is with the dhcp package.

The DHCP server stores information that could be useful? May need to configure monitoring ports and something as wireshark to monitor DHCP packets. This would help determine where the package is stopping.

    example:

Console (config) #monitor session 1 source interface 1/g8

Console (config) #monitor session 1 destination interface 1/g10

session mode 1 #monitor console (config)

right now I don't see anything in the config of the switch that stands out. If the DHCP server is configured for option 82, then you will need to include the following command on the switch.

    Example:

    Trust l2relay console #dhcp (config-if-1/g1)

But I don't think that's our scenario here.

  • 6248 VLAN do not receive the DHCP scope

I created two new DHCP scopes in my windows server 2003:

    192.168.2.0 - public, and
    192.168.3.0 - VOIP.

This DHCP server is connected to a Dell powerconnect 2708, which is connected to our new powerconnect 6248P via fiber point-to-point.

In the new computers on network on the default 1 VLAN are correctly attributed IPs as they connect.

I issued the following commands to the 6248 CLI:

    Enable
    Configure
    database of VLAN
    VLAN 20
    VLAN 30

I also added all traffic on VLAN 20 and 30 of VLAN on ports 1/g11 (6248) and port 2 (2708). VLAN 1 access was removed from ports 1/1/g1-g6 (6248)

Everything seems to have been set correctly, but I can't get a response from the DHCP server on all ports attached to VLAN 20. The powerconnect 2708 switch is unable to pass the baton to the server? Is it possible that something falls in the point to point?

I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions, thanks!

The 6248 has no default gateway. It wont let me put 192.168.1.1 because he does not reside in the same subnet as the 6248 (192.168.99.1)

The 2708 has listed 192.168.1.1 as its default gateway.

At this point, the network has too many complexities for me to unravel. I am very happy that at least I solved for DHCP when we finally migrate our server to the new location.

Once the server is up, and the gateway/firewall are directly connected to the 6248; I will review the correct configuration of this network.

Some advice to those who might have a similar problem: check your management VLAN. It may not be the same VLAN 1 if you plan to routing to work from VLAN 1 to nowhere else because the VLAN management cannot be routed. Also check static routing of your access point, make sure the front door has a return of the ips of your VLAN, IE: 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 gateway_ip

That's all for now. Thank you to all who have contributed

  • After connecting my computer directly to my front door, they do not receive an IP address.

I run a business from home. Recently, I got rid of my static ip and three of my computers plugged into my modem gateway providers. For some reason my computers are not pulling up from the DHCP IP assigned by the modem. Instead, when I ipconfig/all - I get a 169. IP address. After some research, I read that the automatic configuration could be changed in regedit files. Before making any changes, is there anything else I can do to solve the problem?

I connected my laptop to the modem gateway and all works well.

You probably get a public IP address of the modem only * if * it is not also a router and DHCP is configured on the router said.  Also, I assume that you have changed your network settings to "Obtain an IP address automatically" on each machine?

    You did not understand.

Step 1) click on your SSID. The first page should tell you what interface the ssid relates to. normally, you have created an interface vlan corporate and a virtual local network of comments interface.

(Step 2), go to 'controller', 'interface' and select the interface according to

I also support IP configured in the world pointing to my DHCP server, and I installed the DHCP scopes for the associated networks VLAN 10 and 11.

When I connect a device to a port configured with VLAN 10, I get a the network 10.10.10.0/24 DHCP address.

However, when I connect a device to a port configured with VLAN 11, I receive a DHCP address also in the 10.10.10.0/24 when he should be in the 10.10.11.0/24 network.

The VLAN, routes and extended DHCP appear to be properly set up everywhere. Yet once, when customers use statically assigned addresses their VLANs and adequate networks, traffic is routed normally. But I'm getting DHCP addresses for the incorrect subnet for clients connected to the local network VIRTUAL 11.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Looks like you're real close how it works, we just miss something in the configuration.

When you configure the port for VLAN 11, which command do you run? Once it is configured for that VLAN, we can confirm that by simply running a show on this interface command.

It may be useful to see the configuration running on the whole, this will help us to look for any possible changes, we can offer you.

If you could give us a screenshot or the decrease in the size of the DHCP scope settings, we can help those look too.

    Thank you

By my firewall or zone rules, the machines on the Green interface can communicate with machines on the DMZ, very well, and DMZ machines can establish connections to the machines of the green zone, which is correct.
Here's MY PROBLEM: eth0 can't get an IP of Comcast address. I tried to change all sorts of locations on the ethernet card virtual vSwitch, etc., nothing helped. I rolled the cable modem power, nothing helps. When I connect my modem cable back to my old wireless router, the router receives an IP address immediately. When I connect the cable modem to 1 NETWORK card on the Dell printer, Vyatta gets no IP address.
I'm sure I'm just something wrong, but I don't know what. I have a different configuration of Vyatta identical-except-physics somewhere else, but it doesn't seem to work practically
. I think that it has to work, otherwise why Vyatta would provide an easy to use ESXi device that's read-to-go?
I thought that maybe the vSwitch in ESXi were getting in the way and I need to connect the virtual machine directly to the physical NETWORK card, but you can do that in ESXi, so it's obviously not.
No idea what is the problem?
