Wireless keeps expire when I try to connect to my new wireless router.

Atheros AR5007EG

I have a Toshiba laptop with Vista with the above wireless adapter and it keeps time when you try to connect to my new Brighhouse Ubee router. I tried everything but can't seem to make it work.

Hi, PeterBlum,

Try changing the SSID the network ID.

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-networking/Atheros-AR5007EG-wireless-network-adapter-not/27ef5891-96d5-4914-a6b2-9b3813400ef9

Method 1:

Run the network troubleshooter, and check if that helps.

Open Network Troubleshooter:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-networking-troubleshooters

Method 2:

Update the network adapter driver and check if that helps.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

Method 3: If you use Internet Explorer, then we recommend that you check if proxy server settings are turned on. To do this, try the following steps:

a. disable the proxy on Internet Explorer (IE)

b. Click Start, type inetcpl.cpl and press to enter.

c. click on the Connections tab, click the LAN Settings button.

d. uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN" under proxy server.

e. click ok to apply the changes.

f. open Internet Explorer and check if the problem persists.

Method 4:

Try the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.

Problems of network in Windows:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/network-connection-problems-in-Windows

Method 5:

Disable IPv6: (If your PC is in home network do not perform this step)
Try to uninstall IPv6 on all interfaces, removing any IPv6 virtual cards and reset the TCP/IP stack. To remove the IPv6, go to the properties for each network adapter, and deselect the check box next to the Protocol "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6), which will turn off, or select it and click on uninstall, which withdraw power off the computer.» Then go into Device Manager and remove any 4to6 adapters, adapters miniport WUN or tunnel adapters.
NOTE: you should do this for each network connection.

Hope the information is useful.

Since last week, my laptop disconnects from the internet, everytime I try to log in to facebook. Hello

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities. The problem description, I understand that you are not able to connect to the internet. Provide the following information:

    ·         What version of the operating system is installed on the computer?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         What web browser do you use?

    ·         The question is limited to the Facebook website?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check.

    Startup options (including safe mode)

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

  • When I try to connect to the wireless router, it asks you the password I put it and he then asked again and will not accept the password. all other computers (without windows 7) connect correctly.

My new computer has windows 7 when I try to connect it to my router it ask the password, then he asks the network password I put in the same password and it does not accept it. I spent ove an hour on the phone with a very helpful and confused expert to the Virgin. He tells me that the password only I need to communicate with the router is the main. We tried a lot of things all very technical and finally he gave up. Other computers with vista on connect very well with no problems at all.

The network is fine and all the settings are fine. Occasionally, it connects via a home network but then it stops. When I try to communicate with the printer wireless signal stops and starts.

I don't hold much hope of a response that experts were left very confused by this first abandoned after 45 minutes and the second lastered over an hour are totally flumaxed and blame windows 7

But everyone told me that windows 7 was supposed to be the best

  • When I try to connect with my wireless laptop will connect only to Local access. If I connect the laptop to the router with the ethernet cable, it works very well.

    VIsta - Local access only

    HI -.
I recently moved.   I use the same router from my old apartment and I had no problem connection in the past.   Since I moved I have a new Time Warner modem (Cisco) and the modem works fine.

The router also works very well I'm able to connect with my iPhone and IPad without any problem.

But when I try to connect with my wireless laptop, it will only connect to Local access.    If I connect the laptop to the router with the ethernet cable, it works very well.

    It's a Dell Studio 15 with Vista.

The computer is able to connect to wifi to other places without any problem, but for some reason that I can't connect home.   I tried to reset the modem and the router several times, but that did not help.   I tried the option repair & diagnose several times but it doesn't work.

I tried to look for other solutions online and tried to disable IPv6, and while it helped some and I was able to connect wireless, the computer ran so slowly that it didn't seem like a good solution.

This has been very frustrating.   Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion.

    Hello Staciusa,

Have you tried to change the wireless channel that your router is running at? There may be interference that could prevent the internet connection:

Take a look at step 6 in this article that give more details about it:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/athome/Setup/wirelesstips.aspx

If you need assistance to change the settings of the specific router, you will need to contact your router manufacturer or your internet service provider.

  • When you try to connect to internet it sometimes makes other times it doesn't.

    Sporadic internet connection

My friend has a very annoying problem with the PC! When you try to connect to internet it sometimes makes other times it doesn't.
The desktop pc is connected to the router/modem (D-Link WIFI ADSL 2 + G6242) via the ethernet cable, it communicates with the router, but
not between the router and the net!
I can connect without problems with laptop wireless, which indicates that the problem is with the Office
    and not the router!
I suspect that the Office might be infected with malicious software. I've updated all the thing and run Malwarebytes, Spybot
Search and destroy and Avast AV, nothing malicious is reported.
I have restored to previous restore points, but the problem persists. It may be a corrupt file but which!
I would have preferred to resolve this problem, otherwise I'll have to do a restore of the system Dell Factory!
I'd love to help with this problem appreciate.

29 Firefox introduced a new synchronization mechanism. This new system has existed only for about 2 months, so it is likely that you have actually not account. You can see the information for the new synchronization here: synchronize bookmarks of Firefox, history, passwords and more.
