    Hello

@ drewlfths: I m not 100% sure where the wireless network card is placed on Satellite Pro M10.
But in my opinion it s under the keyboard. I think the best way is to contact Toshiba service in your country for details.

By the way: the Satellite Pro M10 supports only the standard Wi - Fi: 802. 11B. In this case I n t think you will be able to use a super G standard.

In your case, I prefer to use an external solution such as a Wlan USB key.

  • T42p 11 a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI adapt disappeared

T42p (2373HVU) running XP Pro SP3. Following a recent Microsoft XP OS automatic update, unit a/b/g 11 disappeared from the list of network card (No 802.11 wireless Radio device is displayed using Fn + F5, only the Bluetooth device is accessible).

When I replaced this OS updated with the original OS comes with the T42p (Fortunately, I mirrored the original hard drive and kept as a spare) device 11 a/b/g is present and I am able to access the 802.11 standard using Fn + F5. Therefore, I believe that the wireless LAN card is OK. Something happened during the MS update that killed the 802.11 device.

Interesting to note that in the device under other devices Manager, I have a controller Ethernet figure even if there is no other device other that the Intel PRO/1000 MT Mobile connection under the network cards, which proved to work correctly.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Satellite 1800-S-452nd wirelles LAN mini PCI card and WPA

    Hello

I'm trying to upgrade Satellite S-1800-452nd wirelles LAN mini PCI card for WPA. Is there a solution?

    Best regards, Joze

    Hello

You can change the settings in the properties of the wireless network.
In the wireless tab, you can choose the network and press properties.
There, it should be possible to set the wireless network key.

In my opinion, if the card wireless doesn t support the WPA if you need other maps.

  • Tecra 9100 - W-LAN-Mini-PCI-card upgrade

    Hello everyone,

    I ve got a with the W-LAN-onboard Tecra 9100 working doesn´t.
    Instead of repairing the old W - Lan Mini-PCI-card I want to move to a new standard (802. 11 b / g with 108 Mbit/s max) Mini-PCI card.

I prefer the mini Notebook-WLAN-Gigabyte GN-WIAG02 PCI adapter.

Is it possible to chance the card built into the Gigabyte card?

    Hello

It s nice that you want to upgrade your wireless mini-pci network card. But I suggest you rather a card with an Atheros chipset. The best choice is perhaps a card with a Chipset of Atheros 5005GS since I upgraded my Tecra 9100 with this card and it works like charm. (and not so expensive as other s cards)

To swap the card, you must remove the plastic cover of the keyboard and unscrew the two screws in order to release the keyboard.
After removing the keyboard, you will find an aluminum side cover left which is set with a special torx screws. The best would be to get these torx screwdriver to loosen this bolt and remove the cover.
After removal, you will see the map with the cables that lead to the antenna. (One white and one black) Be very CAREFUL when remove the Connector cables, because if damage you one of the cable connectors there is no return since the cables are cables "Mini-coax" and cannot be "connected."

I warn you, just do it if you're really sure and if you know what you're doing, because I won't take any responsibility if damage you something on your machine. Otherwise, I wish good luck and would appreciate some comments on your success.

    See you soon

  • Upgrade of RAM for Satellite 1900-603

I want to go to 1 GB of RAM IE extra 512 MB on my laptop P4 Satellite 1900-603, I checked the (additive) manual and it says ' onboard two 200 pins + 2.5V DDR SO-DIMM sockets supporting RAM DDR memory modules. Upgrade 1 GB by two max modules of 512 MB memory.

I couldn't find the part number on the Toshiba site, so I checked the website of Kingston, which gave me KTT3311/512 or KTT3614/512, I bought KTT3311/512 of this notice.

Unfortunately, when I come to install the part the second slot is smaller than the original square. That is to say fewer pins.

The RAM I bought is the part of the original square, but obviously does not fit in the spare slot.

Could someone tell me what the part number is for the smaller RAM and why this information is not available on the Web from Toshiba website or in the manual, including the additive.

    Hello

I ve downloaded the manual for Satellite 1900-603 PS192E series and he says the basic soecifications of the memory being used are:
    module SO-DIMM 144-pin
    SDRAM 3,3 volts
    PS-133 (PC - 100 is unusable)
Capacity of 128 MB, 256 MB, or 512 MB.

    But according to this page:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=6051&ft=m&St=3

the laptop must manage 200 pin PC2100 (266 MHz) DDR SODIMM memory hmm very strange?  :|

  • Wireless LAN on WinXP in Satellite L40 - 12N

    Hello

    I recently received a Satellite L40 - 12N with Windows Vista installed.

After the replacement of Windows Vista with Windows XP Pro SP2,.
I can't get my Wireless LAN want to work more.

I installed the drivers Atheros WLAN for XP.
    Driver installation has been successful,
and according to the Windows Device Manager, everything works correctly.

However, I can't detect my router wireless from 5 feet away.
I think it has to do with the WLAN switch in front of the laptop.
Is - this switch requires a special driver or software?

Or is there another solution to this problem?

    Kind regards

    Cree

    Hello cries

As much as I know switch itself didn't need software. Enable/disable wireless network card you can use the combination of keys FN + F8 but it should also work without this key combination.

Try to reboot your router and check again please. He contributes to several times for me. ConfigFree is preinstalled on your laptop?
