Wireless network device 104 undetected

Hello

My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6t 1200 CTO with Win 7 64 bit OS. When I upgraded with a card mini with adapter type N type G existing wireless, I get "network wireless device 104 undetected." Unable to get pass to start the system. The card I used is 'true HP Pavilion g/n 640926-001, 639967-001.  She new part of HP. Why an HP wireless adapter card does NOT work with a same laptop HP?

I did the two BIOS > Default SetUp and also did update the BIOS (from Drive download of Hp), but the same error message.

I called your 'Technical Support' several times. All they do, they transfer my phone from one Department to another, without solution. It seems that HP has nothing but sell unnecessary products and waste of our money.

    Hello

I put t know what that card WLan you have but you should try to reinstall the WLan driver.
Go to Device Manager and check first your WLan card.
Then download the page of European Toshiba driver WLan driver.
Then delete or uninstall the old drivers WLan (Device Manager) and install the new downloaded drivers.

Reboot the laptop, and then enable the wireless using the antenna WLan switch and the combination FN + F8.

If you are not familiar with Vista and don t know how to use the Wlan under Vista OS and then google and you will find many pages that describes how to set up WiFi network.

These settings are to set up your printer wireless (or wired):

    • Stay connected to your router
    • Trouble printer status 'offline '.
    • Wake mode 'sleep'
    • All wireless devices stay better connected

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers (wired and wireless) should always be assigned a (fixed) IP address manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network and must be outside the range of the router DHCP.  After the adjustment of the static IP address the computer must be updated to show a Standard TCP/IP port with the IP address of printers under printer properties/Ports.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here and here and still more here.  Video here explains the problem and how to solve the problem. <--> So watch this!
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto Off/sleep/Energy Saving Mode" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check your printer properties.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a socket wall and not to a UPS, power strip or a lightning arrestor. This will cause the printer to drop offline connection and disconnection (checked yes!).

    Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

    Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

After the installation of Software Distribution Service 3.0 update my wireless network camera does not work how do I uninstall Software Distribution Service 3.0

How did you receive the update?

Was it via Windows Update or Microsoft Update?

Before the changes are made to your computer, the system restore points are made. This is so that you can go back in case an update causes problems.

    Follow these steps:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. click on accessories

    3. click on system tools

    4. click on system restore

    5. click on next

    6. in the calendar that appears, select the one which refers to Software Distribution Service 3.0 and click Next

After the collection of certain data, the computer will restart, and the update will be gone.

  • device not supported wireless network found

    Hi guys,.

I had to change the motherboard of my DV9420US; I bought a new motherboard megabyte Trading, wore the same (444002-001) and told me it was a piece of HP. However, after replacing the technician, the following error appears when starting, and forces me to close:

"wireless network device 104 undetected." System stopped. remove device and restart.

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

It begins to be disappointing: I've already spent over $ 400 to repair the original motherboard first and buy a new one, so that my laptop does not work yet.

    Thank you.

    Kesli,

I followed your instructions and it did work.

The wireless signal is abnormally low compared to what it was, but the problem is solved.

    Hello

I have a ProBook 6450 b with the latest bios (F23) and remove the Broadcom wireless network and replace it with a new l an Advanced - N 6200 (support 300Mbps) and 5 GHz Intel.

Before I buy this wireless, I downloaded the manual and this wireless network is supported.

    http://h18000.www1.HP.com/products/QuickSpecs/13616_ca/13616_ca.PDF

    Page - 35

but when turn on the laptop, after the hp logo, I see:

"104 - unsupported wireless network device detected system interrupted - remove the instrument and reboot.

I try another device (Intel Wifi Link 1000) and this device work!

    Please hellp

    This is your problem then.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop:

    http://bizsupport2.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c03122685/c03122685.PDF

The list of wireless cards supported with HP part numbers can be found in Chapter 3, beginning on page 44.

You must get the module WLAN Intel Centrino Advanced-N6200 802.11 a/b/g/n 2 x 2 with HP part #.

    572509 001.

Again, you can buy only a wireless card listed in the service manual for your laptop and it must have the part number HP on it or it won't work.

You can order directly from HP on the link below. You can change your country at the top of the page.

    http://h20141.www2.HP.com/hpparts/default.aspx?mscssid=F13BE835ABCA4E7C851B4DB0F4C74AFC

Or you might be able to get a card on eBay by searching by part number. Are not looking for the model number that you can end up with a card no HP.

  • Wireless network not always connects successfully on HP ENVY 5644

Just bought a new HP ENVY 5644 device to replace an existing of my HP Photosmart C4380. The new device for the first time and ran through the initial configuration using the built-in touch screen. Everything seemed to be going easily and smoothly, without any error and even connected to my home wireless network on the first attempt.

I then tested the printing and scanning of the characteristics, which each provided extremely pleasant results and good performances on the wireless network.

Unfortunately, this is where my story ends happy and boredom begins!

After initially set up the device in a temporary location, I've properly turned off to transfer it to its final resting position. Even if it were in another room of the House, it was actually closer to the router of network wireless itself. In reality, we are talking about a very significant distance that the 2 rooms are in fact back to back each. So, now with her in her new role and connected to a power outlet, I turned on the device once more. The powers of the unit upwards and the blue light that indicates the status of the wireless connection, continually flashes blue rather than a blue fixed solid. Blinking blue indicates that the device is unable to establish a wireless network connection. If I use the touch screen to investigate the matter, I think there seems to be an authentication problem and the details of the message are bad password (WPA) wireless entered.

Why has this happened? Nothing has changed, everything that I've done is not move the printer in another room!

Believing that the touch screen tells me, I decided to run the Wireless Setup Wizard once more to confirm the wireless network settings. As expected, he manages to find my home wireless network without any problems and then requests the password key has been entered. I go so it correctly and press on apply. It is at this time that the device tries to connect to the network, that unfortunately crashes, return the above error message. However, I know that I entered the password correctly, in fact, there is an option to display the password that you entered before attempting the connection, which, while they inspected, confirms that the password that I entered is good!

Then why does it not connect?

I tried to turn on the wireless feature, turn off several times via the touch screen interface, but this has not solved the problem. The only way to get the connection Wireless online is to keep turning on the unit, switch off again until the wireless light solid blue. Without apparent reason, wireless seems to have a mind of its own, only connected to my wireless network when she wants to!

I have no problems with many other wireless network devices I have in my house, from several manufacturers and even located in other parts of the House. I know that my wireless network is good and I know that my password wireless like the back of my own hand, so there is no chance of which is incorrect. It is purely a problem for the HP ENVY 5644 itself, device which can be confirmed by the fact that if I turn it on and turn it on again, it could decide to establish a successful connection even if I have nothing to its own network configuration, or my own configuration of wireless itself.

Ask yourself whether or not it might be of some obscure incompatibility between my wireless router and the HP ENVY 5644, I tested the unit with another router to spare than I, who was also from another manufacturer but unfortunately the result is the same, the HP ENVY 5644 connected only when he wanted and would establish only the network connection Wireless when switching on the device. If the connection fails, it will never connect to the network unless you turn off and turn it back on, which may require even been attempted several times before success. Once connected, it seems to stay connected and then works really well.

This behavior is not acceptable and I'm sure that's not too healthy for the device itself to be turned on and off again at these short cycles. Otherwise, overall, as I said earlier, I am very happy with the product.

Can someone at HP tell me why this is happening or suggest what I need to seek or consider.

Talked with HP engineer the other day. I explained to him what was going on and they suggested to do a factory reset and then set the IP address manually rather than using DHCP from my router wireless home.

I wasn't too happy about it as everything has been well installation and work, except for the WiFi do not reconnect all power over. I also had a go better, adding a DHCP reservation in my router by using the MAC address of the printer. Indeed, it is the best of both worlds that the printer will be given the same IP address by the router whenever he asks for one.

We agreed to leave things as they are rather than the reset of the printer and I would now turn off the printer every day. For the last 4 days, the printer has reconnected to WiFi at all power over. This is excellent news.

I have a call on request with HP in the coming days to discuss how things are going. If everything continues as it is, it would seem that to specify that a wireless router DHCP reservation solves the problem. While I wait for the next call to HP, I continue to power on / off power to the printer on a daily basis.

  • Re: Satellite L450-173 - unable to detect wireless networks

I have a similar problem with my satellite L450-173.

I bought this laptop without OS and installed win 7.
I found and downloaded the latest drivers toshiba WLAN support and download page and my Device Manager indicates that the device is turned on and that it works correctly.

However, I am unable to detect the networks without wire in the box (alltough there are at least three in the district).
I have a home network with the router. When I connect to my laptop with a LAN cable, it connects automatically without problem. But I can not connect via my wireless connection.

Windows troubleshooting is of no use.
I downloaded the chipset drivers updated too (following the suggestion by an online forum), but which did not help at all.
My "doctor Conectivity" reported that my wlan adapter is 'on', but when I enter the 'Radar' option, it reports that this wireless network device is disabled. I tried to disable and then enable once again, but it did not help. I also used the option reset address IP - no use. My IP address is set to auto because my network is connected by the router.
I tried pressing FN + F8 but I have not noticed any change.

Indicator LED for a wireless connection at the front of the laptop is always red.
I read many forums linking similar issues to win 7, but I have not found any solution.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Eventually the WiFi network is disabled and so you cannot connect to the Wlan router.
If the FN + F8 does not change the status of WLan, then it would mean that Don t FN buttons work properly have you checked if the other FN keys work?

You must reinstall the VAP (value added package) to obtain the keys FN working again
If you want to use the Fn + F8 then you should see (flashcard) WLan icon on the screen

    Another idea;
You can toggle the wifi in the Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab.
    Check this box

PS: If the BIOS is not updated, then you need to update it too!

You are right. The FN + F8 key combination should be used to switch to the WLan card.

  • Impossible to activate my Vista wireless network card

I replaced a broken network PCI adapt with a Belkin USB wireless adapter.  I installed everything, restarted, and now my computer can't find any networks.  I open network connections and tried to repair.  When I 'Reset the wireless network adapter' it indicates a problem still exists. As it is said 'Belkin 54 g Wireless USB Network Adapter' knows driver or hardware related issues.  I've already updated the driver for the latest driver.  When I go into network connections and right click on the connection for Belkin 54 g wireless, I try to activate with no luck.  I also try to activate Device Manager with no luck.

I came to the conclusion there is that some conflicts causing the wireless network adapter to not 'activate' or activate.  What is the problem?

    Hello Brent in Texas.

O what is the status of the wireless network adapter in Device Manager, you see yellow exclamations or the fringe?

The error code indicates that the drivers are not installed for your wireless network card.

You should try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your network card wireless instead of updating the drivers. Make sure that you remove the previous version of the driver and install the latest version.

    1. click on start. In the start search box type "devmgmt.msc", and then press ENTER.
    2. expand "network adapters, double-click the entry for the wireless network device.
    3. click on the "Driver" tab, click "Uninstall".
    4. click on start. In the start search box type "appwiz.cpl", and then press ENTER.
5 remove the entries related to the wireless network adapter.

Reinstall the driver with your driver CD. After installation, create the connection.

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall the driver from Device Manager, then go to the computer or the device factory site download the latest driver for your network card and install it.

You can read the article that will give you all the steps to troubleshoot network connectivity issues:
