Then, go to start-> type devmgmt.msc-> press Ctrl + Shift + Enter. Click Yes if prompts UAC. In the window, go to Nwtwork adapters, expand it. Now, look for the name shown here. If any other message appears as "the unit was able to start" or any other message, try updating the driver. If that too fails, contact the manufacturer, may be it will need replacement.

Help!  I went on vacation and used my laptop to DVD play only.  I am now back home and cannot connect to the Internet.  I tried all sorts of resolutions without result.  When I use the Troubleshoot utility, it tells me to stop my router and turn it back on.  I've done this multilpe times at this point.  Once I keep in the resolution of the problems, I get the same message again and again: "wireless network connection is not a valid ip configuration.  I disabled McAfee and morning services.  I used the command prompt to reset WINSOCK, IPv4 and 6.  I turned power on and off wireless by using the key on the keyboard.  I disabled and enabled the network connection.  I have the driver-upated.  I know the router works properly from my iphone and iPad is all connected without problem.  I removed and added to the wireless network.  In the network and sharing Center (I would copy and paste the view up here, if I could, but since I can't get online...), it is said "unidentified network, no internet access" on the right side, and he also says that I'm connected to a public network.  There is no link to click for the public network and I can't seem to find a way to change it to the House (there are no options, no links).  I tried to solve this problem, after I get home from work every night and I'm so frustrated that nothing works.  Please, please help!

BIOS bug? I don t think so

First of all, you must make sure that this isn't a hardware problem. In this case, insert the Toshiba Recovery CD and reinstall the operating system of this device. This will outline the laptop to factory settings. Notes; This would format the whole HARD drive.

After the new installation, you must activate the WLan switch on the side of books, and you can then use the switch button FN + F8 to select the WiFi network.

I assume that you have already configured your Wlan router. So the same settings such as the SSID, encryption of WLan, etc. must be defined on the laptop too.

How did you receive the update?

Was it via Windows Update or Microsoft Update?

Before the changes are made to your computer, the system restore points are made. This is so that you can go back in case an update causes problems.

    Follow these steps:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. click on accessories

    3. click on system tools

    4. click on system restore

    5. click on next

    6. in the calendar that appears, select the one which refers to Software Distribution Service 3.0 and click Next

After the collection of certain data, the computer will restart, and the update will be gone.

    Hope this helps

  • Wireless network adapter could not be activated

My laptop also did EXACTLY the same thing in the morning today.
No effect with the wireless on switch on the computer. The light is always red. Last night an automatic update that happened (update for windows Vista (KB955430) 09/05/2009 09:03), which cannot be deleted. I don't know if this problem is related with the update.

My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6439nr.  Running Windows Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 1).  Wireless adapter is "broadcom wireless 802.11 b/g WLAN PCI" that is gone now.
Windows network diagnostics shows "this computer doesn't have a card installed and configured wireless network."
HP Home Network Center shows "Wireless status: disabled; When I try to enable wireless LAN, it shows "wireless network adapter could not be activated.
I tried to scan and reinstall the driver but the device does not appear.
The wireless router works fine with other laptops.
If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Alboury,
It seems at this point that your wireless network adapter has a hardware problem.  Check out this troubleshooting guide step by step on the HP Pavilion support web site.  If you can't get your active wireless card, you will need to contact HP or repair HP authorized repair for hardware Center.

  • Wireless network adapter is not installed and configured

I have recently re installed windows vista for my laptop dell inspiron 1545. I am not able to connect to wireless internet, it says that the wireless network adapter is not installed and configured. How do I install it and where can I get the wireless network adapter. I have a cd or anything for it. Thank you

You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you shouldget from Dell for the wireless adapter at all you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html. > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244617.

The adapter is inside the laptop.  You don't need to do something with it to install it.  Install the drivers, firmware or software for it and your version of Vista from Dell (all that apply) "install".  You must then go to start / Control Panel / Network and sharing Center and configure the adapter with the appropriate parameters and to establish the appropriate network connections.  This will take place in settings required by your ISP, and maybe your router or modem (so you may need to contact them if you don't know the settings).

  • Windows 8: hidden wireless networks will reconnect not on restart/recovery even if it is set to reconnect automatically. Is there a fix/hidden control panel?

I bought and installed Windows 8 Pro to update my ExoPC slate Windows 7 and, while the overall experience is much better, there are several problems that I need to address.

In this case, I want to ask questions about orders of Windows 8 wireless network.
During the installation of Windows 8, I correctly configured my hidden wireless (SSID "Brass") and set it to auto-reconnect. After the reboot, the network does not recover, and I have to open the network Panel wireless, select 'Hidden network' and re-enter the information to reconnect.
However, Windows 8 still remembers my old settings - even if it does not use them - as the new profile which appeared was now "Brass 2".
Another reboot: same problem. I am now in 'brass 2 3. " That's 3 different profiles for the same config (SSID: brass).
I know hide a wireless network is not the best way to fix it, but I prefer it like that more have WPA2 encryption. In addition, Windows 8 should be able to reconnect to the hidden networks; Why is it not?
In addition, how to clean all duplicate them profiles when out of scope or no available connections will not be displayed in the list of networks? I can't right click and choose "forget this network" if it connects is no longer...

I had the same problem and found this thread. I was searching with the command netsh AlbertChew mentioned and found a solution:

Find out the name of your profile:

    netsh wlan show profiles

Configured to connect to a hidden network:

netsh wlan set profileparameter nonbroadcasting = yes

My computer immediately connected to the network and it has survived several reboots since then.

Unable to connect to the network wireless Toshiba Satellite A105 PC running Windows 7.  "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because it is impossible to perform the following action. Renewal of your IP address.  Works with Windows XP SP2, IE 8.00.6001.18702 file, I think that Version 3.  It has been installed on a disk provided by Microsoft after that old installation became corrupt (in the sense of Microsoft technical support.)  Before that, wireless network worked well.   (So unable to connect to the Internet for updates.)   Have tried to change the other settings and different messages acquired when it SHOWS that I am connected but cannot connect because of something to do with the certificate.  I don't remember what I did to try to solve this problem in the last days.

I should add that I have tried the solutions of the previous forum on this topic, and none worked.

  • Satellite P300 PSPCCE: Atheros AR9281 wireless network adapter are not all networks

I have a Satellite P300 PSPCCE with Atheros AR9281 wireless network.

After a clean install of Windows 7, I can't see wireless networks, unless I connect an Ethernet cable to my wired network card.

As soon as I take the cable on wireless networks disappear. This computer had Vista and it worked fine there. I tried latest drivers available from Toshiba, but that makes no difference.

I have tried disabling the wireless and turn market as well with the FN and F8 key and switch on the front. I also tried to uninstall. But it's always the same.

If someone has had this problem and is there a solution to this?

    Bjarni cordially

    Hi mate

To be honest I never did experience even with a WiFi card and I have no idea why the LAN cable affects WLan card functionality, it makes no sense to me!

First, I recommend that you check the settings of the router and reset if necessary
In addition, you should go to the s for laptop BIOS settings and set its default value.
Check the version of the BIOS if newest is available, then an update would be worth a try

You use the Atheros Wlan configuration tool?
If this is not the case, try this out!
It s a configuration tool that could be used instead of owning windows wlan settings

  • Qosmio X 500 - wireless network card is not recognized

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem really frustrating with my WI - FI, the thing is that since this morning, my PC can't recognize his wireless network card and it isn't same state that there is a problem with her or anything, it's just like it never existed in the first place! Also the wireless light is still disabled, even if the switch is turned on, it all started this morning, my PC was in mode 'sleep', I lift the screen and the screen goes black with a loud beep and it restarts automatically, so no WI - FI more!

I tried to restore about three days, but nothing has changed, so I tried to reinstall the driver wlan everywhere, but the installation does not start even, as if he says 'there is no card wlan here for a driver to install... "
I'm sorry for the long 'report', but really, I'm out of my mind! Help, please!

Can you please tell us more about status of WLAN card?
Card WLAN recognized and listed correctly in the Device Manager?

Make sure that the WLAN switch is in position and try to use the FN + F8 key combination to activate the wireless network card. What happen when you try to do this?

  • S3-391 Acer wireless network adapter does not work after driver update

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire S3-391 running Windows 7 64 bit and I have recently updated my card (Atheros AR5BMD222) wireless network to the latest version of such 10.0.0.274 as recommended by the Acer site.  After updating the driver, I can no longer connect to my wifi at home.  When I try to connect, I get the message that no wireless connection is available (even if all my other devices can see the wifi network) and when I diagnose the problem, it is said that there might be a problem with the wireless network card and that windows could not automatically bind the ip stack Protocol.  I tried to uninstall the new driver and reinstall one old and running a system restore before installing the new driver, both with no luck.  When I try to manually configure a wireless connection, I get message "an unexpected error has occurred."  I have an automatic DNS and IP address, and when I look at my ipconfig, IP, DNS, DHCP, etc all have addresses.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

And while playing, I managed to fall on a solution.  When I looked at the properties of my wireless network card, I have disabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP and now everything works fine.

  • map memory in wireless network shows do not in a single account

Hi - I have an Epson SX515SW printer, which is on a wireless network. I run Vista 32-bit SP2. This problem is produced only since I provided an image my Toshiba laptop after 2 years & had my single BSOD (due to conflicts between pieces of AV s/w, left for account).

The printer is a multifunction device & includes a card reader. I have 2 accounts on the machine. We (call it account A) sees the reader without the need to re - map & so is end, the second (call it account B) do not see without having to map the drive (& yes I know I can get it to reconnect to the opening but I'd rather work as it should).
In both accounts, I can print OK, the only thing I've noticed is that sometimes when starting the laptop or the other account, if I shoot to the top of the network view, sometimes I get a message saying that network discovery is turned off (it is not) & seems to think that it is a public network rather private whoever it is. If I go to the center of network share among the down sweater that shows this error, everything is fine. Network of the discovery shows that on & network type as private. I am connected to a Superhub of blank media (which is a Netgear VMDG280).
The other two computers from the House (one is Win7 & XP) see the drive without any problems.
While this is not critical, I really want to get this working as it should really.
    TIA

OK issued resolved but I don't know why!

Do as I said in my last post. Uninstalled the account I used to install the Epson s/w. Then I reinstalled on the account that I have had the problem.
All right. I see the memory card in * the * accounts without having to resort to a drive mapping. But what precisely could hurt that I wonder?
