How to feed a text cell with Member of a dimension code?
Hello
I have a text 'Recruitment Code' cell in Hyperion Planning
Page: CostCenter1
Salary Recruitment code Employee 1 100 CostCenter1 I would like to automatically feed the cell by putting the name of my cost center "CostCenter1".
I tried: RECRUITMENT_CODE = (@NAME (@CURRMBR ("ENTITY")));
But it does not work...
I don't know if it is possible to automatically feed a text cell? If it is possible, what is the right formula to do this?
Thank you very much.
Virgil.
You're talking about text data type? If so, that information is stored in Essbase as number. Planning stores this information in the relational database and shown on the form as text.
Can't do that via a function of essbase. (I'm not aware of any). You will need to generate a workload file and then load only with workload or ODI

I can't install KB976325 update.
The system is Vista Ultimate (64-bit) Service Pack 2.
Error returned is
"WindowsUpdate_8007371C" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"
I did the following:
* Reset Windows Update via KB 971058
* Check the files with the file system Checker: no problem found
* Downloaded KB 976325 as a stand-alone file, the update failed (no error given)
* Ran Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner: no problems found.
* Ran Windows Defender quick scan: no ound problems
* Clean the registry and temporary files with Windows DefenderThere must be a solution to this problem!
In desperation, I tried the Windows 7 upgrade. The upgrade failed at the last step. Vista was reinstalled and it works OK. However, I can't yet do the KB 976325 update! Oh, the Windows Defender definitions file has been updated through Windows Update fine.
Walter,
FYI-you are in the right forum. All Windows Update components are in the same enclosure. It is important to publish the specifications of your system, as you did.OK, lets start with a few basics. This KB976325 update is an update of security for Internet Explorer 7.

Can I put Windows 7 on a Dell Dimension 4600?
Hello
I have a 6 years old Dell Dimension 4600 PC with the following specifications:
- Processor Pentium 4 3.0Ghz
- 1 GB OF RAM
- nVidia Geforce FX5200 128 MB graphics card
- Windows XP Home Edition
I expect to make a custom on this old PC Setup, but my problems are with the drivers.I recently used the special Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which tells me that I meet all of the minimum requirements, and of course programs such as Outlook Express will not available on Windows 7.In the middle of this report is a link to the Dell (Windows 7 section) website where they tell me to go learn more about compatibility. When I do click on this site and then click on hardware compatibility, it brings me to the next page: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/dsn/en/document?c=uk&docid=360683&l=en&s=genThe page says there is apparently only ONE socket support Dell Dimension model which can be improved on the range Dimension, covering a good 30-50 models. I'm sure that this is due to support driver from Dell, which is absolutely horrendous. The drivers on the site range Dell Web from 2004 to 2007 (for the only critical updates), for my model. The only OS supported on the site it is XP. Research on the Web sites of manufacturers of drivers, I find that the newer drivers are available for my hardware, more compatible with Vista. Do I have the old OEM from Dell specific drivers or the drivers provided by manufacturers! Can I REALLY move to Windows 7! Dell said it is not supported (and is fast enough to give me a link telling me to buy a new PC), but I have friends who have installed on other Dimensions of Dell old where it worked a treat. I don't want to lose £70 on a BONE that may not work and may leave me without a usable PC!What should I do!Hi Fred
Not taken in charge and is not possible are 2 different things.
How you proceed depends on how comfortable you are troubleshooting. It is very likely that you will end up you are looking for a few drivers for hardware on the sites of manufacturers or possibly replace certain hardware devices that are simply too old to work.
Windows 7 includes many of the compatibility of the tools that can help when you use the devices more old drivers/hardware and software troubleshooting.
If the Upgrade Advisor did not identify hard incompatible devices, I would say you should go try before the upgrade. Make sure you have all the latest drivers for the hardware installed and available on external media.
If you have any problems, come back here and start the new thread, we are here to help.
Kind regards
Thank you for using Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

No you can't. Given that it's a Dell and it came with Windows XP pre-installed, it's an OEM of Windows version. The biggest drawback of an OEM version (at least in the USA) is that its license it permanently binds to the computer first it is installed on. He can never legally be moved to another computer, sold, or given to outside (except with the original computer). If the computer dies or is stolen, your license dies with him.
And let me ask you as if you checked to make sure everything on the Dell is compatible with Windows 7, and there are Windows 7 drivers for all your hardware that requires it.

How can I add an extra internal hard drive to my dell dimension 8300
I installed an extra internal hard drive to my dell dimension 8300. He only appears in "Device Manager" and shows to work but he does not appear in 'my computer' and has not assigned a drive letter. It's a western digital 1200js-22mhbo. My drive root 'C' is also a wd1200jd from western digital. Can someone tell me what I do to get it to show up with a drive letter, and I have to format it? Also, there is a way to format so I can install programs on it as my "C" drive or I just will be only able to use it as extra storage? Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello
- Click Start
- Click on run
- Type diskmgmt.msc and press enter
- You will be prompted to initialize your new drive, move (drag) the message on one side, so that you can see the disk management window in its entirety and make sure your new drive is the disk that should initialize
- Click on the button next wizard
- Make sure that your new hard drive is selected (boot disks), and then click the next button
- Make sure that your new hard drive is not selected (the disks to be converted), and then click the next button
- Click on the Finish button
- In disk management, right-click the unallocated space on your new drive and then click New Partition...
- Make sure that the primary partition is selected and click on the next button
- Leave the default partition size (all your new drive), and then click the next button
- If you do not want the suggested default change drive you want allocated letter and click the next button
- Change the volume name if you want but leave the rest of the information as the default and click the next button
- Click on finish
Disk management will make formatting your hard drive and displays its progress in percentage. When it's over your disk will be ready to use.
If you want to install programs on this disc you could make custom installations and select
: \Program Files instead of the default of C:\Program Files. Some installers do not have this option. You can move your documents on this disc folder, if you want to see...

It seems that this computer is so old that Dell isn't fully can't stand it anymore. Pages that appear to relate to your system in a generic way, all seem to suggest that you have added a new video card, at least his new card and perhaps other devices. You can search the drivers for those devices on the websites of their respective manufacturers.

http://support.Dell.com/support/eDOCS/systems/DKUB/
http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/usgen1/DriversHome/In any case, it does not appear in the documentation above that this computer has never provided with Windows XP or that Dell had XP drivers for everything.

General XP will work fine on your PC. There is a tool of material control on the

I can add on a hard drive to my Dell Dimension 8200
I have a Dell Dimension 8200 with a 100 GB ATA / hard disk, it is full and I have only 4 GB of free space. There intel9R0 4 CPU 1.70 GHz, running windows XP Home Edition. I would like to add a 500 GB hard drive, can I just add this hard drive as a #2 as a normal drive.
Yes, if you install 2nd disk after formatting it will appear as another drive in 'My computer' and you can move files to free up space on your primary drive.
In addition, you can install the new drive, clone the old drive him (several disks are delivered with the software or you can download it from the Web site of the manufacture) and then delete the old drive... just a matter of what you prefer, option 1 is easier.
Keep in mind there are two types of hard drives: EIDE (or "parallel ata") is the oldest type, the cable is 40 pins of a connector that is about 3 inches wide. Newer drives are SATA ("Serial ATA") with a connector 4 pins which is about 0.75 inches wide. On the top of my head I do not remember if Dell Dim 8200 SATA or not, but I think. Worst case if you do not find an EIDE drive and your computer does not have a SATA connector, you can add a PCI card that will add. Some of these cards may not allow to boot from it so you should keep your installed current 100 GB drive for the installation to work.

Installing drivers after Windows XP reinstall on Dell Dimension 2350 with Dell resource disk
Hi all
Recently, I did a clean reinstall of Windows XP (home edition) on my Dell Dimension 2350. Everything went well. Now, I need to install the appropriate drivers. I have the Dell resource disk and this is where the problem starts.
As noted elsewhere, after reinstallation of that display on the screen of the disk resource is as it is in 'Safe Mode '. I was aware of this. Therefore, the search criteria screen resources drive was a little bigger than the screen of the monitor. I managed to its size to fit the screen, but this really isn't the problem, is the following: the search criteria options I have in the dropdown menus (on screen) are the following:System model: all, DXC061, DXP0G1 Dimension, Dimension E521, DM061, Dimension C521, XPS710 (who, if necessary, to choose?)
Operating system: (I think I got this one) all, Windows XP
Topic: (maybe this one too), Dell Diagnostics, Diagnostics, drivers, Applications, utilities
For the life of me I can't understand the correct drivers, I am to install *. Windows XP appears in the menu of the operating system. I know enough about the order of installation, but as I said, I'm a little confused on the selection of the drivers from the disc. This computer is not connected to the internet at the moment so I can't download and use any kind of pilot program. Other research have confused me more far and provided no precise answer to this problem.
If anyone can enlighten me on the solution step by step to this (I think "Dell resource disk for Dummies"), I would be extremely grateful.Thank you all!
Zlek1207
* If it will help, I went in (with "Show Hidden Files" active) Device Manager and it shows (with the yellow question mark) are:
Other devices: Ethernet Controller, multimedia Audio Controller, video controller (VGA Compatible). You need, in the order of installation:
- Driver Chipset
- Video driver (depends on what video card)
- Audio driver
- Network driver (depends on who you are)
- Modem driver, if you are using a modem
Go to the Support page and put in your Service tag. He expected to give you the drivers you need. You can download them to any PC and copy it to a USB key for installation on 2350.
You only need applications, if you actually use them (for example, Roxio, Jasc Paintshop, etc.).
Then install your antiviral software and get in line on the Microsoft Update site for all patches and updates.
Please keep in mind that XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and they stopped release of the security fixes for XP and IE9, more than 1 year. So they're all two full of security holes and put your data personal in danger.
