  Grant you your post I assume you come in on the connection between the WLan router and the laptop. Am I wrong?
  Why you n t reset the WLan router?
  In my opinion, this should be a first step.

  I recommend then disable WLan encryption and other security settings like filtering on the router WLan Mac address.

• Problems with Satellite C660 wireless

  My day 7 old Satellite C660 is constantly does not connect to wireless internet. It connects then stops loading web pages. I don't get no access or limited access note on the tray icon of system, but when I display the available networks it shows as connected with good resistance. I have 4 other wireless devices that runs through the same connection without problem. I checked the driver for my wireless card, and it is up to date.

  It drives me crazy and I think again the laptop to the store for a refund. Can anyone help?

  I have a Satellite A350 running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit version.

  My wireless does not work. I just updated the driver and it changed the symbol of the connection to the network to connect to the local network bar wireless with a cross through it. I know that the wireless works in my house because I m using my iphone to write this now, I system restored it I have not decicied to wipe and reinstall windows it's about 1.5 years.

  The laptop is overheated and once do not know if that will cause the solder on components to melt if possible how to see if this has happened to myself. I don t want to waste money to take it to a tech when I could do it. Please help its annoying quite just going in circles

  Hmmm have you checked the sound settings in Control Panel-> sound and peripheral Audio?
  There are two different options; Recording and playback.

  You should choose the record and must go through the simple controllers.
  Maybe some are not enabled

  I put t really know what problems you have with Satellite U400 but friend of mine has it and in my opinion the screen is as good as other portable also. I put t see any problems with the quality of the screen, everything is really good.

  It is important that you use the native screen resolution and 60 Hz. This will give you the best image quality.

  About these privacy filters I've never used them but I doubt that will improve the quality

  As you said Garrett don t need an additional driver for CD/DVD drive. It s part of the OS and should not be updated.

  In addition, you must follow the workaround solution posted by Garrett to delete upper filters and lower that often causes such a problem.

  If it doesn't work remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD and restart the laptop. After that the drive will be recognized automatically.

  Before starting a very important message: I do not usually work with pc... :-) At my work we have an IT Department for our PC :-))

  However, now I have to work privately with a PC / laptop and I need help: I'm sitting in front of a Toshiba Satellite U400-11 q with a HARD drive completely newly formatted and unfortunately WITHOUT recovery CD or DVD!

  So far I managed to format the new HARD drive and put a Windows Vista Home Basic (OEM software) from my old pc on this notebook. However, nothing works again (I want to get into the Internet, etc.).

  So, I now have to put on all the involved drivers as well as drivers TOSHIBA original, right?

  How can I do this? What drivers to I need? Do I have to download all the drivers concerned (total 113) one by one on the Web from Toshiba site?

  ANY help is appreciated as I see myself spend all night in front of the PC...

  By the way: this machine works perfectly with Win7 32-bit so I highly recommend you to use Win7 instead of Vista.

  I have the Satellite U400-PSU44E. It was the Vista Home Premium pre-installed spirit, but I had to install XP Pro.
  Under XP I have problem with installing the drivers. If I try to install driver sound I get info that the media is not found, even with the modem driver. I tried to install the electricity utility of Eve - in the last step of the installation, I get an error, and this error ia´m getting always ia´m try to uninstall this version adding utility / Removo programs.
  HARD drive protection utility I also install the Cana´t - I Dona´t don't know if this feature is supported in my Toshiba, but if this pilot is being Satellite U400 PSU44E I think it should be.
  ChipSet drivers and BIOS I installed as the first.
  I downloaded only the drivers from the web site of Toshiba (ce.computers.toshiba...) for win XP.

  Any suggestions?

  PS: is there some suggested order of installing the drivers for this model?

• I mixed adapter for Satellite U400 with Docking Station adapter

  I have a satellite U400 laptop and a USB-Docking-Station dynadock.
  The Docking Station has a power supply of 5V and the laptop has a power supply 19V, but the connector are excatly the same thing.

  Unfortunately I mixed the two connectors.
