with virtual windows xp

Hi assia,.

As far as I know, there is no particular requirement about the PCI slot.

But one thing is that we have to report that the laptop Dell Latitude E5520 has problem working with card PCMCIA-FBUS. Please see the link to the forum below for more details.

http://forums.NI.com/T5/Foundation-fieldbus/NI-FBUS-PC-card-detected-wrong/TD-p/1658478

And for the Windows XP virtual part, as long as you can configure the virtual OS to access the PCI Slot, software NOR-FBUS shouldn't have problem.

If additional questions, do not hesitate to contact. Thank you.

Kind regards

Chris

  • Cannot communicate with scanner hp virtual windows XP wireless.

Hi all.  I'm on ubuntu 8.10, vmware server 2.0 and windows virtual xp.  the host is the box of ubuntu and windows xp running inside vmware server.  I have a printer hp 6300 series all-in-one.  the virtual operating system windows communicates with the network wireless using NAT via the linux box.  I can't seem to print on the hp all-in-one through virtual windows, but am not able to scan.  When scanning, the hp softtware opens, and after a short delay, I am presented with an error message regarding the transfer of data.  I have paint shop pro installed on the virtual machine, and when you try to connect to the scanner using this software, the same error message appears.  I think I might change some files in linux for ease of analysis, but I don't really know where to start.

does anyone have a solution or an idea?

    Thanks in advance

Is it possible to try briefly the VM with bridged networking? One of the differences between the bridge and NAT networking is that NAT does not automatically allow unsolicited incoming traffic must therefore be configured according to the guidelines on page 252 of the manual - http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vmserver2.pdf. It does not require to know what ports are used. If that doesn't work not on either packed then this isn't the issue. Also, is there a firewall that might block traffic?

  • Questions, communicate with a Windows domain controller

I thought at first my user had a problem with Keychain and had finally called Apple Tech Support.  While on the line with Apple, we proved that it was not a question of Keychain, but rather a problem of communication with a windows domain controller. The key elements are:

    * Multiple users and Macs are members of an Active Directory multi-domain forest

    * iMac is a 27-inch, mid-2011w / 8 GB RAM

    * OS X 10.11.2 (updated 10.11.3)

    * Question appears isolated to this iMac (currently). All other iMac, Macbook Pro and Mac Pro is currently very well, several VIRTUAL LANs, and a MacBook connected to the connection of network iMacs can communicate properly with the domain.

    * iMac seems not to contact no matter what domain controller when connecting, but connects to the resources of the network and domain controllers, after login. Permissions and access to the resources appear normal after login.

    * User (s) cannot change passwords for mobile accounts or login with new mobile accounts, but accounts/passwords cached work very well.

    * iMac uses Symantec EndPoint Protection for Mac (anti-virus) – REQUIRED BY THE POLICY.  I can't change.  I have come off for the test, but must replace as soon as the test is completed. This policy is set at a level about five grades of remuneration above me.

    * It isn't really everything off the coast of the wall software installs on the computer.  The full Adobe Creative Cloud subscription is responsible, but so it is on just about every other mac I support.

The steps that have taken place:

    (1) about a month ago, the user went to change his password, but wouldn't go to change password at the login window.  We were able to change their password on the network and could use the new password to connect to the network Active Directory controlled resources. We can connect to resources network successfully with the new password, after we connect locally with the old password.

    (2) we get the red ball (the network resources are not available) to the login window. We are basically connecting with identification and passwords cached information.

    (3) if we try to change their password through the system preferences / users and groups / / password Chang, we get the message that no domain controller is available.

    (4) initially thought that it was a matter of trousseau, and we ended up calling Apple support, since Keychain first aid is no longer available in 10.11. Apple-Advisor while that remote, showed where it was not a question of Keychain because we could not change the password on the domain, because the iMac didn't communicate with a domain controller.

    (5) while on the phone with Apple, we reset SMC and NVRAM without success.

    (6) If you are going to untie the iMac in the domain, a message that the system cannot communicate with a domain controller.

    (7) today, thinking that maybe there was a hardware problem with the ethernet connection, tried to use the private WiFi network. Still would not communicate with a controller domain, but, as if using the wired, could connect to network resources. This happens independently attempted account.

    (8) used a MacBook on its network without any problem, it is not the connection port or switch

    (9) moved his iMac to another connection on one VLAN different. Same question.

I'm open to suggestions. I have two days to work on this subject, around the planning of production of the user, while I'm off site for a week.

    10) thinking that maybe it was something that happened with 10.11.2, he improved to 10.11.3 today. No change.

I don't want to try to clean and recharge its iMac, in the hope that this clears up the issue.

    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    A few additional tests.

    (1) Symantec deleted using Symantec CleanWipe, without modification. Has been reinstalled after additional tests and a reinstallation of the operating system.

    (2) being ran reports, visualization and research now, but nothing is really coming out as noticeable. Only problem seems to be a helper of Adobe

    (3) use a bootable USB key and had no problem with the thumb drive version, this isn't somehow a hardware problem.

    4) entered the recovery partition and the re-installed El Capitan, in the hope that perhaps, is a pilot or something in the protocol stacks have been corrupt, a reinstall would correct. Reinstall has not corrected the problem.

I'm really strongly leaning towards here is something in a plist or somewhere configuration file that is corrupted, but I don't know where this would be right now.  Will continue research and testing. Last resort will be a wipe up to bare metal and a clean install. I will not migrate the profile of the user, but only its working files.

  • Trouble using NI USB-4065 with virtual machine VMWare

    Hello

I'll be working with a virtual machine (windows xp) and I need to use an NI USB-4065 DMM.

When I connect the USB-4065 to the PC, the virtual windows xp recognizes the new HW and also MAX display the new device on the list DAQmx.

It seems ok, but if I try to use the USB-4065 (open the soft cover or in a LabView VI), the device does not work.

If I use the frontpanel app, when I click a botton, the Group seems to work but doesn't measure anything; If I try to reboot the softpanel, it works and 'freeze' of the screen.

If I use LabView, the VI returns an error on a maximum duration of the measure.

I'm trying to use the device on the real machine (not with VMware) USB-4065 works, whith flexible Panel and whith VI.

I update the driver of the DMM on the virtual machine, beats the device still doesn't work.

... I don't have any other idea, can anyone help me with this problem?

Windows 7: installed XP virtual window. Get enable integration features on start and it fails every time. Yes, virtualization is enabled in the BIOS. Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled several times the Virtual XP window. I always get the same result. Error message: integration features have been disabled. How can I get the acceptable integration features? I tried many tools | Selections of parameters and multiple restarts of the storefront of XP and restart the computer.

    Hi kepBrian,

It seems that there is a problem with the integration components.

    Method: 1

I suggest you to download the components of integration for the XP mode.

Visit the following link to download the integration components.

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee681616 (WS.10) .aspx

    Method: 2

Also I suggest you to enable virtualization of hardware on the computer.

To enable virtualization of hardware on the computer, you will need to make changes in the system BIOS.

Follow the steps to change the system BIOS.

    a. when the computer starts, press clear key to enter the BIOS setup.

    b. now, access the virtualization tab and select Enable hardware virtualization.

    c. now save and apply the settings.

    d. restart the system and see if the XP mode works correctly.

Note: Everything by changing the setting in the BIOS be aware on the changes you made. Unwanted changes can crash your computer.

Can I install Windows 7 Pro on Windows 8 Pro Hyper-V with OEM Windows & Pro disc. I have a laptop windows Pro 8 and a lot of programs that I use is not compatible with 8. So, I enabled Hyper-V so that I can install Windows 7 Pro on the virtual machine, but I bought a bad DVD because it is an OEM. How can I can go about this.

If it's a Windows 7 Professional OEM System Builder License, Yes, it will work fine.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • What Linux OS to host for a virtual Windows machine?

    Dear expert VMWare

I think I have a Linux host to run a virtual Windows 7 machine for MS Office developments and Photshop works. I'm ready to buy a hardware configuration good if needed (ideally: I5 processor, 16 GB of memory, SSD 240 GB)

What Linux do you recommend if the criteria are:

    (1) ease of use for someone who knows nothing about Linux

    (2) best performance

I wonder if I shouldn't go for a Windows host with Windows prompt and save energy for the Linux training. The combination of Windows/Windows is likely to be less efficient than Linux/Windows?

    Thank you for your advice

Welcome to the community - the first question is what operating system, you are more comfortable with? Once you have answered that it should be the host operating system that you install VMware Workstation on

  • Virtual Windows 7 machine image does not not on Fusion for Mac

I created a virtual Windows 7 64 bit computer image using the stand-alone converter.  I copied on my MacBook Pro with OS Lion and when I try to open with the merger, I get the 'Blue' of death screen, then a screen that allows Windows to try to solve the problem.  I select the difficulty, it runs, but does not solve the problem.  Anyone have any suggestions?

When I created the image, I chose to make it run on Fusion 4.0, too.

Thanks for posting (tie) the VM's vmx file. I guess that the virtual machine has been converted using an IDE drive instead of the default "LSI Logic SAS' value.

  • Should I really a firewall/av for virtual Windows XP, if the internet access is disabled?

I don't want to have to buy an additional license for the stuff I already have (Kaspersky Internet Security 2012) on my old Dell (not ready to give up, yet). I intend to buy/download a new Windows on my Dell software and download it on my Fantom external drive, then move this drive on my Mac to get it... or just download whatever it is (from my desktop Mac) directly on the external drive.

Oh... just to clarify, I have my internet access disabled on virtual Windows (available only from my Mac desktop access) and test to make sure that I couldn't walk around on the internet on Windows virtual. I can't. Yay! Additional note: no account invited; I'm the only user.

Have toyed with getting Intego Internet Security (I know; I probably do not need), but I think (pretty sure, based on the other info I've seen in the forums) will not help in Windows virtual.

[Which also begs the question... my current USB external hard drive (originally bought for my Dell) work on my Mac?] This is a rhetorical question and I'm going to figure this out for me as soon as I've finished using it (it has download something on my Dell, now) and connect the USB cable. ]

    Thank you!

Each physical or virtual machine/system must have appropriate protection.  If you don't what to pay money then install key products that offer at least a free version of one a.

As far as your external USB drive is concerned everything depends on what file system it is formatted with and then whether or not you have any 3rd system drivers of third-party files that support what OS X does not.  In other words if the drive is formatted with the FAT32 file system, OS X can read and write to it without problem.  If it is formatted using the NTFS file system, then by default OS X only can read but not write him even if there are third-party drivers that you can use to provide write support of NTFS.
