WLAN with SP6100

Hello

I have a problem with a WLAN in a Satellite Pro 6100.
I have the link for the access point with "good connection", but I can connect with the server.
The status of the networklink is unplug the network cable.

Can I help me some.

Thank you

Hello

The WLAN connection depends on many factors, but something very important for successful connection are WLAN settings.

First check if the wireless network adapter is recognized and installed properly in Device Manager. I don't know, but as far as I know SP6100 comes without wireless network card.

Also important is how to setup the WIFI network. If you use the Windows settings you must activate it in the WLAN properties and if you are using a customer this option should be disabled.

Good bye

Yes. If your laptop detects available wireless networks while the WLAN card works well. The problem is to make the right adjustments. Don't forget that the WIFI network is not encrypted. If Yes, you need the right password can visit his profile.

    Hello

Hmm. Win 7 drivers are not yet out, but I found some beta readers on the Toshiba page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp

Maybe you will find some Win 7 drivers for series L500/505

Otherwise I would recommend you to check if you can activate the WLan in Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab Wlan card

There are a few additional options, that maybe the WiFi we / off would be there also.

  • How to Segment LAN/WLAN with TimeCapsule and third party LAN

    Hello

I have a bit of a delicate situation. I need to speed up my (W) LAN through segmentation and hope that many of you might be able to help here.

Currently my TimeCapsule connects via its WAN for a FritzBox with DHCP port. 255.255.255.0 subnet / host 192.168.178.1 TC router is turned off (bridge mode). The TC creates a wireless network. The FritzBox connects to the ISP and a lot other customers outside the TimeCapsule.

The first WLAN TimeCapsule is extended by a second TimeCapsule. A couple AppleTV and expresses the airport are connected in the scope wireless of the 2nd TimeCapsule but far out of reach for first time capsule. Apple network and FritzBox network clients need NOT communicate with each other. It will be even better if they were aware, because there are other AppleTV, printers, servers UPnP, stream movie, etc.

Thus, the 2nd TimeCapsule acts as a 'bridge' for the internet.

Now, I want to segment the LAN (W). The main reason is to reduce traffic. The two TimeCapsules to connect with a very low bandwidth, because there are a whole bunch of concrete between the two. Since then, there are a LOT of current traffic, customers and also the internet connection around my TimeCapsules is not responding to most of the time.

Is it possible to segment the LAN (W) with my first TimeCapsule and create a LAN (W) dedicated?

Thank you very much for your help!

I think that you need good QoS or limitation if I read your message.

    Give me real numbers.

What is the max download and upload becomes your Frtizbox? Many real world real... using ethernet for the Fritzy and anything else using the bandwidth.

The first link to the TC1 on ethernet should be no problem... but the TC2 wireless link is probably give you mediocre results... and there is very little you can do about it... have you tried or considered using adapters EOP. (homeplug to the United States).

If you take the link that will help you.

Segment the network's not going help the problem that I see.

What model is the Christopher? Is there a QoS limitation or even decent with the limitation of bandwidth?

You can set IP alias or VLAN on that?

    What model is the TC?

  • Satellite Pro M70: Configfree and Wlan with WEP issue.

I have a Satellite pro M70. With Configfree (v5.90.07), I can connect to the wireless network (with SSID) of my router and go to the internet. But when I put a WEP key in the router, and then I can not connect anymore.
With Configfree, wireless Lan, I still can't see the network (with the name of the SSID, etc.) and I see that the network is secure. But I can't connect to the network more. This because the laptop adapter (Intel 2200BG) doesn t have the WEP key. My question is: How can I set the WEP key in Configfree? (A different key by different profiles).

(Try to solve the problem I have downloaded the new Intel and IntelPROSET wireless drivers.) This live program asked the WEP key and makes a link without problem. Now with Configfree, Wireless LAN, I also see a connection (secured with WEP). But the rest of the Configfree program does more (CFMain.exe problem). I read in another topic that this is caused by the Intel program. You must remove this to solve the problem of Configfree. So this n t the solution.)

My question is: How can I set the WEP key in Configfree? (A different key by different profiles).

    Hello

Firstly the Toshiba Configfree program is not software for the WLan configuration.
This program, you can use for the diagnostic procedure and it shows you the connection properties. But it of not possible to set the cipher with the Configfree.
It seems that the IntelProset utility has a bad influence on the Configfree. The problem is that Toshiba doesn't support any 3rd party applications.

Furthermore if this card doesn t WLan supports WEP encryption so you can not use it.
WEP encryption, you can set in the WLan card properties.
You also use the 3rd party WLan application like IntelProset or Atheros utility to configure the WiFi network but encryption depends on the WLan card not on the utility!

  • Satellite Pro M70: Unable to connect to the WLan with ConfigFree

    Salvation in the Forum.

I have problems with a satellite Pro M70, about gaining control of wireless connections.

When I scan with "The Radar" I have ConfigFree for available wireless accesspoints, I get several points available, but it is not able to connect to one of them. I can read their status and see their marker of WEP encryption.

When I try to connect to one of them, I get a pop-up dialog, that said (translated from Danish) 'suppliers another software is in control of the wireless network card. When you try to configure a connection through the classic way to windows, windows States that "windows is not able to configure this wireless connection - if you have another program to manage wireless connections, you must use it". I guess it refers to ConfigFree...?

Is the unnamed "other provider" associated Windows or perhaps associated McAfee (Security Suite 2007)?

If you are familiar with this problem or something like that I'd be please to know.

Also - where can I enter keys for WEP encryption for my friends in ConfigFree WLAN routers?

    > Trying to make a connection through the classic way to windows, windows States that "windows is not able to configure this wireless connection - if you have another program to manage wireless connections, you must use it". I guess it refers to ConfigFree...?

It should not be a ConfigFree. According to you, an Intel ProSet utility or a Client Atheros wireless network adapter might be controls the Wlan configuration!

Please check if one of the two control the WiFi network tools and turn off!

    > where can I enter keys for WEP encryption for my friends in ConfigFree WLAN routers

You should have three different tabs in the utility Configfree.
The second device settings provides the list of devices, and you should see the wireless network connection.
Choose and use the button network connections.
There you should find some encryption settings!

Also check the profile settings tab and the option called security settings

  • Can I establish a connection WLAN with Satellite A20?

Just bought a new desktop pc and philips ADSL wireless base station. Software OK on desktop or laptop but can not connect laptop without cable that there are attached. Does anyone know if the A20 should do and if so how difficult / setup?

And if not, what should I do so? I don't see the WIFI network in the network or Device Manager. Got wireless hotkey in Add / Remove Programs well. (What is?) Can'e see in the list of the programs well?
Help me! Please, I beg you!
    TA. Andy.

It is not easy to give a precise answer because you haven't written what model of laptop you have exactly. In any case I found some information to follow:
    Satellite A20-S103 is WLAN ready
Satellite A20-S103D is also WLAN ready

Concerning WLAN card please consult the first lower side. Each laptop computer with onboard (configured in the factory) WLAN card has small sticker WLAN. Please check also entered into the device under network cards Manager. If the WLAN card is not listed you need to buy a.

You can use a compatible card and put it on the right place or use an external solution like USB or PCMCIA WLAN card.

  • Can see router WLAN with Satellite A100 - PSAANE Vista

    Hello

I have a satellite A100 PSAANE running Vista Ultimate that has trouble finding WIFI (atheros wlan card). The router is a Siemens gigaset transmitting the WPA2-PSK / WPA - PSK with dynamic channel assignment. In the past, I was able to get a wireless connection to my router with this laptop, but did find it difficult to detect the WIFI network sometimes.

    Location:
Active wireless switch. Different WLAN of the A100 see whenever I update the list in Vista.
Ever - at least most of the time that I do not see my own network.

Other laptops running Windows XP however found my WLAN in these moments there.
This implies a malfunction on the A100.
Update (28/10) drivers for Atheros and Vista resulted in no w-network at all.

Reset did not help. A reset of the router does not work nor the laptop next to the router of positioning.
The failure of detection is a recurring event with this router.

Currently the situation is that no WLAN is detected, then things got worse.

Everyone has the same problems in a similar configuration?
I feel that I might have a problem of material here.

    Thank you very much

I had a similar situation with my two laptops Toshiba (new Satellite A200 and older Tecra M1). I was confused why the WIFI network is not visible the two notebooks. After a few reboots (laptop computers and router) I again was able to use the WLAN.

I do not really understand what was wrong, but now it works again. Try the same thing. Stop the router for awhile and turn it back on.

  • Unable to connect to secure the WLAN with Satellite L30

I just bought my laptop L30 and use that in a few hours. I have a frustrating problem that was annoying me:
I have a model number of the wireless modem/router (+ 2 years) belkin F5D7360 - my wireless network. My router is configured with a SSID and configured to use the 11g and 11B modes.

Connect to my network without wire in unsafe mode works very well. So it's not a thing g 11 or 11 b...

As soon as I turn on security: WPA-Personal, PKIP encryption - the machine does not connect. Windows detects the network but when I try to connect - it returns an error saying authentication has expired - check the network settings. Several attempts that windows automatically diagnose and repair the problem does not work.

I've rechecked, triple checked all the setting. Even changed passwords. Still no joy.

It isn't the network installation - as when I connect with my Belkin 54g PCMCIA card - it works fine. Of course, I want to use the built-in... wireless and I want my network to be sure.

To basic family support of Windows Vista Edition that comes with the package.

I'm quite a techie, but this is my first experience with Vista - and Toshiba laptop.
Currently, I'm stuck and eager to solve this annoying problem.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Have you noticed the same behavior, use a WEP encryption? I have goggled a bit, but I wasn't able to find any info on this Belkin router.

Please try to reboot the router and try to connect WLAN again.

  • WLS-9163 is unable to reconnect in wireless mode after reboot in a WLAN with broadcasting SSID

Initial configuration is defined by MAX using cable.  Wireless configuration is DHCP, with Infrastructure, WPA - PSK.  I save the settings and unplug the wired connection.  Then I delete the original instrument from the list of devices OR DAQmx of MAX.  Then I do a 'find network DAQmx Devices'.  The wireless device is discovered and works (self-test passes).  WLS link on the device indicator is green.

Then, if I cycle power on the 9163, the WLS link never comes.

This seems to be because my thread is not broadcasting an SSID.  If I go to a nearby access point and turn on the SSID broadcast, the WLS Link LED lights and MAX can review system.

Is there a way to make the 9163 connect to a WLAN that don't broadcast a SSID?

    Burned - salvation

First of all, thank you for the detailed notes. This helps a lot. You have the right version of DAQmx; now, we just need to upgrade the firmware. Here's how:

After you have added the device in MAX (preferably on an Ethernet connection), click the button "Update Firmware":

You will get a window that looks like this, where you can see what version of firmware you have. Click the folder to find the new firmware. It takes by default in a directory on your hard drive that contains the file 'ni9163fwROM.cfg' (if that's not listed for some reason, you can find it here: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\fpgafiles\mionetwork\ni9163)

After the start of the update, you will look at a window of the scrollbar for a minute or two. Then, the device will be auotmatically reboot. You may need to reconfigure your settings after the update.

Regarding the deletion/time that you did. You should not. After you have configured the wireless, you should see an IP address in MAX on the wireless tab. If she is not there, click "Refresh" now you can pull the Ethernet cable and continue to use the device. (If you want to convince yourself, click on the "Refresh" button again and you will see that the "Link Status" for the "Wired" connection is "down".)

I hope this helps. Let us know what happens. Thank you

  • Guest WLAN with VLAN (Dell PC 6248)

    Hello community,

I want to set up a WLAN of comments using 2 VLANS.
Setup: IPFire, Dell Power Connect 6248, Netgear WNAP 320 Access Point

The blue Interface on the firewall tag all executives with ID 15.

The switch nearly all Ports are unlabeled and the native VLAN 1.
The "Guest-VLAN" is the VLAN ID 15.

    The port settings

    G36: trunk

    G22:

All unmarked frames in the VLAN 1 native get the ID1 when they reached Port 22.

    Belonging to a VLAN

    In VLAN 1 native

    In "Guest VLAN" 15:

Yes, on the 22 of Port that is connected to the AP, executives with the ID15 (guest) and executives who get ID 1 should forwarded to the AP.

    AP, I've implemented 2 SSID.

The staff-WLAN has ID VLAN 1 and comments-WLAN the VLAN ID 15

But only the WLAN staff works. I do not get an IP address when I connected with the WLAN Guest.
Another program installation on the access point:

I am a beginner in this topic and English is not my language preferred, so please excuse the mistakes :)
    You have any ideas?

    Thank you. :)

One thing I did not to until that earlier. You said when you plugged your workstation directly on the blue link, he got an IP address and has worked well? By default, that a workstation will send unmarked frames, then maybe the firewall is set to be without a label on this interface. In this case, we can try the following config on the 36 port.

    switchport mode access #.
    # switchport access vlan 15

The VLAN native will send and receive packets not marked. You said that everything in the VLAN 1 works, right?
