Media Player 11 error: "connect burner and restart the player ' when trying to burn a CD
Original title: Media player 11 on dell e510 in XP.
When I try to burn a cd with media player, have a message 'connect burner and restart player' and burn is dimmed. I have a sony crx310ee internal d ' training. Media Player will play cd but does not recognize the burner. Was able to burn with Roxio but uninstalled trying to get media player to work. Have you tried to update the driver, but I'm told that nobody no more recent is (over 3 years). Removed upper and lower filters. Have not unhooked by car and restarted. Do you have a regedit and changed the 3 to 2 Volume guid value. This adds the record to the properties of the drive button. Have run convenience store and it reports the device is not a burner, which is incorrect.
Help!
Yes! Think my problem is resolved. Had ignored a suggestion to uninstall the burner and reboot. This seems to have solved the problem since I just burn a CD using media player.

I can't burn my CD on Windows Media Player error "connect a burner and restart the player.
I have a bunch of files music m4a songs bought on iTunes that are on the Windows Media Player. I insert a blank CD, and he refuses to burn the songs. I put it in my laptop, go to the option burn and it says "connect a burner and restart the player ' and doesn't read that there is a CD in there, even if there is. Even if I put all the songs I want in it, it won't work. I need help.
No problem, at least it's a step forward that it is not only the media player.
At this point if the CD-ROM drive does not at all, it could be a couple of things.
- First of all, just make sure under the folders under the view tab Options, that the "hide empty drives" is not selected. It could make your CD-ROM writer hidden just because there is no data in there at the moment.
- The drive appears not could also be that it is disconnected, but it's not terribly likely.
- Check Device Manager to see if the CD drive is listed, and if she has any warnings associated with it. You can open the Device Manager by performing a search in the search box of the start menu. Locate the CD drive in the list, and then double-click it to view the status. He can say everything is fine, or can provide details on all issues. Also, while you're here, you can check an updated driver. But this brings me to the next point...
- If the driver he is already up to date, it is interesting to watch your your model computer manufacturer Web site see if they have a newer version. Sometimes Device Manager detects outdated drivers and uses, when the manufacturer's website has something more recent.

My burner windows 7 everything simply stopped working saying that I need to connect a burner and restart the player. Why is it a saying suddenly this and what can I do?
Hi Noralie,
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
It seems that you are facing problems while burning the disc using Windows Media Player. It would be great if you can answer the following questions:
1 have had any changes made on the computer before the show?
2. What is the full and exact error message?
3. what type of disc you are trying to burn?
To resolve this issue, follow these methods:
Method 1:
I suggest to see the link and try to run the Troubleshooter:
Open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-settings-Troubleshooter
Method 2:
See the article and check if that helps:

When I try to burn an audio CD with Windows Media Player, I get the message "connect a burner and restart the player.
I am able to burn audio CDs using ITunes, so I don't think that my CD/DVD burner is defective.
Thanks for your help. The "fix it" has not worked, but I checked the settings of my Nero 8, Nero Toolkit, Nero Burn Rights program, and he was the one who said "everyone has burn rights" or "nobody burn rights. When I changed the option to "everyone", everything started to work properly.

computer restored IBM won't let me go beyond the introduction of identy... closes and restarts the computer to the same: Enter name and ID... then again, it does the same thing. How can I save this monster?
Hello
First, disconnect all the external devices connected to the computer, and then try to start and check what is happening. If the same happens, then you can try to start in safe mode and check if you are able to boot to the desktop. Only basic files and drivers needed to run Windows are started. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic as possible cause device drivers. To start in safe mode follow the link.
Start your computer in safe mode

Hope this information is useful.

My WMP said that I need to connect a burner and restart the player?
For long time now Ive been burning cd and just recently my WMP started getting a message saying I needed to connect a burner, and then restart the player. It goes the same for extraction, he said "A CD DRIVE IS NEEDED in order to RUN RIP". I don't know why he started to do this, he has never been a problem before. I have a laptop HP Pavilion with Vista Home Premium. Is there anything I can do to restore or solve my dilemma? Advice or answers would be useful.
Thank you

Problem stopping and restarting the computer
Hello
I searched for so long for a solution, until I decided to post a question here.
Whenever I have shut down my computer (via Start menu / alt + f4) the computer off first and perform a restart immediately afterwarrds.
Well, this is what happens ALL the time. My computer stops and restarts, until I am led the newspaper to the page. On the page (after ctrl + alt + del) to connect, I keep having the same problem after pressing the off button.
It's extremely frustrating because I have two options:
Leave my computer running in locked mode (allowing my computer to heat and drain its battery)
or
Force a stop down by holding the power button down (damage my computer system - directed to a page (for running normal windows not start))
Here is my contact information for the computer and all the...
