  • Updates are always safe to download and install on my computer?

After you receive the message that I have updates to download and install, is ALWAYS completely safe to do? With my last PC, I got a typical announcement, completely legitimate-looking that I had "several important updates" that I needed to download and install. I have had these ads before on the necessary updates and always took the lead with download and install them. BUT after the download and installation of these special "updates", my computer was completely dead and never worked again - I couldn't even get it to blue screen! Absolutely no response when I turned it on. Since there was nothing wrong with it before these "updates", I can't help but conclude that some of these "updates" are not only wrong, but also deadly!

    Hello

Yes always install updates. They solve the problems of security and improve the stability of Windows. If you have any problems, create a new question and we can help you solve these issues :)

    Good afternoon

I recently bought this satellite laptop computer pro on the package was both windows vista Home premium. I also decided to change fnsi at the same time. The provider also gives Norton Firewall Virus Intrusion etc etc.

Microsoft does not validate my system but after that 2 hours on the phone with them and a system restore, they have agreed that I had bought some valid stuff and that fixed it.
Now it seems windows updates icon appears ask me do I want to download and install.

I do but every time, it fails, there are about 11 things that fail, no installation. I rang Microsoft today that they made one or tow things say but PC Toshiba's fault.

Please, anyone had this happen to them and got the solution (s)?
Please take into consideration that my knowledge of pc can be written on the back of a postage stamp. Do like me simple.

Did you try to disable the firewall or uninstall Norton? Norton may block the Internet connection.

If the provider uses a Proxy Server, you need to enter the proxy in Internet Explorer connection settings.

    Concerning

  • is no longer to download and install updates for Windows 7

I always applied Microsoft "patches" when they were available, including items that were available in may 2016.  I have not installed new software.  I use Norton Internet Security from the beginning of the year 2016, which keep me also.

More than two weeks now, I tried to download and install the Microsoft "patches" for June 2016.  I sit down and turn with 0% downloaded until I give up.

I try to download and install the June 2016 'roll-up' (KB3161608).  After doing so, ' Check for updates ' seat and turns until I give up.

I tried the various "solutions" offered by the "community":

YES, the date and time are correct

YES and all two KB947821 KB2509997 were installed when they were offered

YES, I tried the "Workaround" (run services.msc, remove C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution, etc.).

    Nothing works!

Microsoft needs to get this fixed number, as their 'Windows Lifecycle Fact Sheet' CLAIMS that they will provide "extended support" through January 14, 2020.

The question did you use the Rollup June is the same one that prevents you from installing: looking at a standstill. It is necessary to stop the search by choosing never 'Find updates' and restart. :)
