wndr4300 wireless in linux mint

I just installed linux mint on my thinkpad notebook & discovered I have no internet unless I plug in the cable.

I also have win7 on it & it will work wireless, no cable.

Someone knows the routine to operate wireless in linux mint? or it does not do that.

using cinnamon Mint 17.3.

He started working.

I think it takes a little more time to establish conn that cable.

  • Can only connect wirelessly via Linux?

I have a router Linksys/Cisco EA3500. I can connect to wireless internet, but no one else in the House can. They can connect to the router and they appear on the routing table, but they cannot connect to the internet. We tried to reset our modem and router repeatedly. Sometimes they access for a few minutes, but it then opens new.

I am running Linux Mint 15, my wife and my mother have Windows 7 and my daughter has a Mac of some sort. We have also many android devices which doesn't connect either. I started my computer in Windows 7 and couldn't connect wirelessly. I went back to the Mint and had no problems.

I tried to connect the Windows machine directly (cable) and it still does not work.

What would cause a single device access while disabling for everyone? We have not changed anything recently, it just popped up out of the blue.

Some providers of Internet services (ISP), especially cable companies, require you to register the MAC address of the modem, router or computer Ethernet card to access the Internet.  If you do not re-register the address MAC currently registered with your ISP, you can assign the MAC address, you are currently registered with your ISP to the router using the MAC address Clone feature.

Try to perform the cloning of MAC address using your Linux Mint. For instructions, click here.

  • Firefox sync (Linux Mint 17.02)

Hey there! I tried to set up Firefox sync. Remove the .mozilla folder in my home directory synchronization does not work yet to reinstall Firefox several times. I tried to use Firefox 41.02 and 42.0.
The sync connection is successful and Firefox tries to sync (blue circle), but nothing happens. When you go to about: preferences #sync, then to 'Manage', it takes a while to load before you get an "unexpected error".
I'm trying to sync between my laptop and my desktop, the two Linux Mint 17.02.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Your first journal suggests synchronization completed. It has a few warnings bookmark weird and disturbing, but otherwise it's okay.

Your second newspaper told me that you are on a network of Unitymedia.

  • Since the update to Thunderbird worm. 41 it is fixed as the preferred application for browsing the web in Linux Mint 17.2?

What could be the cause of Thunderbird to set as the favorite in Linux Mint 17.2 browser client. If I reset it to Firefox, the next time I open Thunderbird, it still resets the preferred setting Thunderbird client. When I open Firefox, it pops up a window saying that this isn't the default browser, asking if I want to change. When I click Yes, any link I clicked in Thunderbird previously will now appear in new tabs.

    How can I fix it?

Linux Mint just put update to Firefox_41.0 + linuxmint2 + rafaela and now Firefox works fine with Linux Mint.

  • How to install check speller of the Serbian language in Linux Mint

Hello, I use Thunderbird 31.6.0 on my Linux Mint 17. I tried to follow the instructions that are on this web site to install dictionaries new Auditors of spelling, but it does not work. It is said that it is not available for my platform. However on my Windows computer it says that this version is not supported. In the comments of this page in someone explained workaround. You need to download the add-on, rename the .zip extension, unzip it and copy the files unpacked in C:/Program Files/Mozilla Thunderbird/dictionaries. I did and it worked!

Is it possible to do a similar thing with Thunderbird for Linux Mint?

I wanted to do the same trick but I didn't know where is the Linux dictionaries folder.
I did some research on Google and understand. So here's how to do it:

    1. go on here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/%D1%81%D1%80%D0%BF%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8-%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%87%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA-serbian-dictiona/

    2. right click > save link as
    3. you will get a file as, rename the file and be sure to make it .zip
    4. unzip the
    5. in this new folder as you open dictionaries folder and copy all the files you have there
6 open your file manager and go to/usr/lib/firefox/dictionaries
7 stick y files you just cope, you do need to root premison to do so then right click in the window > open as root and then paste it

That's it, you'll have dictionaries for Firefox and Thunderbird.

  • Hello from Firefox with camera backwards (with linux Mint 17)

Hello, I am running Firefox 36.0.1 and I tried the new addon from Hello. Unfortunately, my camera is displayed upside down. It was the same problem I had using Skype and I had to update libv4l and that worked. It still works now for Skype, but Hello the problem is back. (I use linux Mint 17)
    Any suggestion?

Skype and Gtalk for linux are 64-bit by default, but Firefox is a 32-bit program (for now). LD_PRELOAD = /usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so will not solve this problem in Hello because it is a 64-bit library.

Using /v4l1compat.so is the right idea, but that error "cannot open shared object file" comes from the kernel and not from Firefox. "Cannot open shared object file" means that the file is not there or that your user name is not allowed to read. Verify the path and permissionsv4l1compat.so (after checking that the library is there and that it has the appropriate permissions) and then try to run: LD_PRELOAD = / usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so/usr/bin/firefox

  • Unable to connect to ANY account in Linux Mint 17 64-bit ("Configuration could not be verified - is the name of user or wrong password?")

So after working all day to get my OS to work together I tried to use Thunderbird on my Linux Mint 17 64-bit. Entering my details, Thunderbird says they're wrong. I checked and checked several times that they are right. I looked around and the farm, I could find what it's useful about my question was a post about something similar on Linux Mint 16 64-bit when all what it says was "reset firewall gateway", which is not exactly the most useful thing. Either by the way, I also reset the router everything and even CHECKED that nothing has been blocked through it and as far as the linux firewall goes, I do not have or have not activated it AFAIK. I'm quite new to Linux in general so I need something that is quite easy to understand in what terms a solution, assuming that everyone knows. I'd like to get this to work because it is pretty well the last obsticle in my own way. If anyone knows anything that might help, please share! Thank you!

I can't delete messages on mozilla thunderbird on Linux Mint, delete no options works, so for me I found a temporal solution, which is to create a new folder inside the Inbox and then move mail in this folder, and then delete the folder. However, I think that this is not a good solution to delete emails, so I want an update, if possible, for linux mint which solves this problem.
