  Is the port that you want to use to open? For safety that many IT services will be blocked in ports that don't think they are necessary, or don't want to use.

  Somehow, it seems that the problem was occurring when I got my hotmail account set up to receive facebook notifications and my hotmail account configured to deliver messages to my "BOLD".

  When I associated with my gmail acc facebook for what email setup for blackberry has been done already, it seems to work properly since.

  Deleting a message that "it mark as deleted", but it's still in the folder that is hidden from view. It's now displaying in the folder "deleted".

  ClickON Inbox right and select "Compact".

  Inbox, junk and probably get most of the activity when it comes to deletion, so they should be compacted ona regularly.

  By default, the built-in VIP mailbox only checks emails from VIP which are currently in the Inbox, not in other boxes to letters or records either locally on the server. If you have e-mail set up a rule to move emails from specific VIPs in their own folders (or are moving them manually), it is probably why you don't see them in the VIP mailbox and why they reappear when you your choice in the Inbox.

  See the 'All the mailboxes' option "Sort by Date", you must select the individual mailbox the VIP under "VIP".  If your VIP example is 'Joe', select the 'Joe' mailbox then you will see the option "all the mailboxes.

  I just moved my Pearl of a BES configuration company for a new account AT & T using BIS.  I finally got messages to reconcile with the BB wireless return service directories to the device.

  My problem - although relatively minor - is that the BB will not receive ANY messages as long as MS Outlook on my desktop PC is turned on.  If I do not start Outlook, messages will come to the BB.

  Is it "normal"?  Any ideas on how to change the situation?

  I had the same problem, and in my case it was because of a box checked in Outlook which was remove the message from the server of mail before it was recovered by the BIS.

  To address in Outlook, you need to:

  1) go to tools account settings--->

  (2) select the e-mail account that you experience a problem with & click 'change '.

  (3) in the pop-up window, select "additional settings".

  (4) select the "Advanced" tab

  (5) by 'Delivery' tick the box 'keep a copy of messages on the server.

  This should solve the problem.

  On 26 may at 09:00, Thunderbird quit downloading all messages from one of my Gmail accounts (others work very well). Since then, he has been uploading the same message over and over again, but none of the others.   Only "setting" I can think of is in the firewall. I don't know the exact key sequence on your level of model/OS specific BB (who, btw, or of which you have specified...), but it is normally within the 'Options' and in the Security section. In the settings of the firewall, there is the possibility to completely block SMS messages or only allow those coming from contacts that you have in your address book.
