The hard drive is readable went out and attached to the other pc as external drive using a shopping cart.

Any ideas on what to try, hope someone can help you.

You see a Toshiba splash screen at the beginning?
You can access the BIOS?

If this is not possible, a serious hardware problem appeared...
It could just be a memory, but in the worst cases, your motherboard is the problem

  • Won't boot satellite L350D-212

I put the hand on L350D-212 that won't start. By turning on the green power light turns on and fan start UM. There is no video on LCD screen or external monitor.
I tried pretty much all the stuff I learned from this forum:
    (1) exchanged Rams
    (2) try with a different set of Rams
    3) took power, held down the power for one minute, then back button back
    (4) tried to hit FN + F5 to switch screens etc.
    5) tried to start without any installed memory

All this led me esteem L350D motherboard must be replaced.

The card mother n/p is V000148410. AGE (AMD)
It seems that this particular Commission is hard to find, and those that are available is used as well.

V000138440 motherboards are easier to find. Based on the quick image comparison, it seems that 138440 has just about size, shape and external connectors as 148410 - and it has socket AMD.
According the description 138440, this motherboard is used in Toshiba Satellite L350 series laptop L305D
    Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5889 Satellite L305D-S5892 Satellite L305D-S5893 Satellite L305D-S5895 Satellite L305D-S5897 Satellite L305D-S5900 Satellite L305D-S5904 Satellite L305D-S5914 Satellite L305D-S59143 Satellite L305D-S5943.

What would you - think would work instead of 148410 138440?

GPU issues may prevent laptop boot

    > 138440 just about same size, shape and external connectors as 148410 - and it has socket AMD.
So in this case the 138440 should also be compatible.

  • Won't boot satellite A110-178

My Satellite laptop suddenly does not start after I recharged it.
When I turn it on, the power light blue button as he always does. But then, nothing more. Fans CPU turns for a few seconds and stops. Nothing appears on the screen, no logo Toshiba or anything like that. The DVD player does not open even. It only turns off if you press the power button for 5 seconds.

What this may be? Do laptops keep silent when the MESSAGE fails or they beep like personal computers 'normal' and is - it a different problem?

Any help would be good. I tried to plug a second monitor, but it does nothing. Play with the battery and the power adapter (connection, disconnection) did nothing, so I think that's not the problem.

Sorry James but I think there must be a serious hardware problem. If you are not able to see the BIOS settings or the Toshiba start screen I think it's time to contact the Service partner in your country.

Please don't be crazy on me, but in your situation, you can't do anything that can help make your work laptop again.

  • Won't boot satellite A40-261 / No. BIOS

    Hi all

I am currently trying to fix a laptop SA40-261 Toshiba to one of my friends.

He complained of the clock that kept resetting itself, because he uses it stationary because of a battery flat my first instinct was to replace the CMOS/RTC battery.
I have fixed a new battery for it and it has changed, but now the laptop no longer starts.

It turns on (power light), but there is no screen activity, no backlight, no disk, no activity of fan activity and no activity of audible alarm at all!

To try to reduce the factors of problem, I removed the card WiFi, the hard drive. Replaced the RAM and tried with the deleted frame (no screen, speakers, multimedia keys, etc.).

Has anyone here seen a situation like this?
Is it possible to reset the CMOS (if it could be blurred)?

Or this motherboard could be bricked?

    > I set a new battery for it and it has changed, but now the laptop no longer starts
Well, seems that you damaged the motherboard.

    > Is it possible to reset the CMOS (if it could be blurred)?
The CMOS battery is usually paid you could load the BIOS (CMOS) battery by connecting the computer laptop AC adapter for a longer period of time.
The main battery must be inserted and adapter must be connected. The laptop must be turned on to 18,20 hours.

But if the laptop can not be powered ON this procedure would not help you I really think that the motherboard is dead.

  • Satellite M40X-189 wont start - Power lights but the white screen

When you power on the laptop the power light lights up and the supply fan turns on but nothing on the screen.
Then sometimes shuts down or blue light stays power away, and eventually turns off.

So frustrating, have no money for the nine for daughter or to pay for costly repairs, praying there s an easy solution (but deeply towards the low no it will not be case).

Any help will be really appreciated.

Try reinstalling the memory (RAM). Or if you have recently installed more RAM, remove the additional module

  • Flickering screen on the new Satellite R850 Pro

    Hello

My new laptop R850 has a very strange habit.

Its screen flashes randomly to two or three times (it takes only less than 1 sec, but sometimes very common). I tried to update bios, drivers and reinstall the system and I tested it also, but nothing has changed.
I sent R850 serving for the tests, but all the hardware test succeeded!

Can someone help me solve the problem?
    Driver error Windows 7?
    Any idea, advice to repair?

    Thank you

    > Can someone help me solve the problem?
I would like to do it but how?
All what you have done is right and if Toshiba service can't help how to do this. If the diagnostic software is unable to find the problem I think that there is nothing you can do about it.

Talk with your dealer and ask if you can get the replacement. In my opinion this is the last reasonable option for you.

  • Won't boot satellite L350D-213

    Hello

I have been through the forum and not found a solution. Laptop start-up problems.
    L350D-213
    Win 7 32 bit

A week ago I started having intermittent problems where the laptop wakes up not after going to sleep. I could normally solve this problem in power and restart. However, it has now to the point where I can't turn it on at all. The laptop starts, the fan starts to turn, the hard drive turns on but it goes no further. Nothing on the screen at all. I tried with a monitor and still nothing. If I have a USB mouse is plugged in when I turn it on the light on the background will flash briefly, then turns off

I tried to turn it on by holding down the power button, I tried without battery. I disconnected the battery and the power cable and pressed the power button / stop for a minute. Still having the same problem. This eveningi tookl the laptop out and attempted to remove the cmos battery. He's stuck hard but I managed to remove it (out of one of the connectors in metal in the process. It is now set down). Nevertheless, the same povlem that happens. Anyone has any ideas or I'm going to buy a new motherboard?

    Thank you

  • Way to extend the memory of the Satellite R850 Pro

I was wondering, since I have a lot of things in my laptop; is it possible, as a card to extend the memory of my laptop?
As I noticed a big slot inside my laptop on the lower side left, so is there something for an extension of memory, that I can do?

    any help is appreciated!

    Hello

You want to extend the portable computer's memory or HARD drive?
I think that in your message that you are talking about the slot slot ExpressCard or card smart (it depends on the model you have purchased)
This slot manages the ExpressCards or smart cards

Here is a nice Wikipedia article on Express cards:
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/ExpressCard

There are different ExpressCard cards on the market. You can use Express of SSD or HDD Express Card cards to extend storage or you can use Express cards in order to upgrade the computer laptop with a tuner TV, 3 G or similar

  • MacBook Pro 13 won't turn on MagSafe flashes green, before power light flashes

MacBook battery failed before I could load. Now, when it is attached to the MagSafe power cable, the Green led flashes 2 seconds and the power led on the front flashes for a split second. The fan turns as it seems to light up, then dies. When you press the power button, the magsafe remains steady. Have tried to reset the SMC, but appears not to have done anything. Then I removed the battery connector, but the above symptoms persist. Any ideas appreciated.

  • Satellite R830 not working - flashing power light

    Hello

    My Satallite R830 lights.

The power symbol flashes orange 8 times then pauses and restarts. There are 6 quick flashes followed by a longer 7 flash then another quick. The symbol wireless is lit (orange) all the time.

If I unplug the laptop and remove the battery and hold the restart button for 30 seconds then without taking the battery in the charger stops flashing and the symbol of the power goes to green, until I try to turn it on, it has a fraction of a second where it looks like it is starting then stops and flashing orange again.

Same thing if I unplug the AC adapter and the battery and then tried the above, but with battery or ac charger.

I tried with another adapter (same output amp and volt).

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you very much

    > 6 quick flashes followed a longer flash 7 and then another a quick

If the power supply microcontroller has detected an error lamp DC IN sends a blink code.
The short means 0 and a long time means 1.
I have your case, that means: 0000 0010

Because the error code starts with LSB (least significant bit) to read it from behind
    -> 0100 0000 0000 0010-> 40 H (hex)
Now, you will need to know what means 40 H

After a few details that I found on the internet, the 40 H could be the fault of S3V output. (S3V voltage is more 3.47V)

However, such errors are mainly related to the problem of the motherboard (internal circuit problem) and from my point of view of the party only a few replacement may fix this error.

  • Satellite P10 Pro won't stay on the diet

My Satellite P10 Pro regularly battery power even if the power is still connected and the LED on the front of the pc shows that it is connected. I then let the battery run down and restart so that it recognizes e presence of th rest turn on again how boring is that!

Any ideas what the problem may be? Don't think about physical connection problems - the LED indicates the current is always there!

    Hello

In my opinion the answer can give you only one technician after checking your laptop. For me, it looks like a power electronic problem. Sorry, but I think that you will not be able to do anything alone.

If you use your laptop on the desk, remove the battery and use it with adapter only. My brother did the same thing, since the battery is faulty. Also try to start computer laptop on the power plug and put the battery in 5 minutes. It will be interesting to know the battery is recognized and invoiced correctly.

  • Satellite Pro L10 won't boot to the top

I am a L10 for a friend, at the moment when the cd and turn it on, the snoring of fan upward, the disk hard led flashes several times climb the towers, but nothing beyond what is happening. The display shows life, no beeps comes off it is just here doing nothing with the power light on and whirring of the fan.

So far I tried to connect a monitor to the vga no signal of the port. Put a linux boot cd in the drive, it runs and sounds like its access but I don't think that his startup, the screen is certainly not, and the hard drive is silent. Finally I tried to take the battery out and running of the network. It doesn't change anything.

So for the moment I can not any diagnosis and I have no idea what could be wrong with him, anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

As you have described it of very difficult to say what's wrong.
It seems like it might really be something wrong with the hardware because you can not see the home screen Toshiba at the beginning of the initialization.

I put t don't know if this helps but try to remove the battery to form several times unplug and wait 30 min power (can t tell the time exactly) try to reinsert the battery and connect to the mains. Try to start again.

If it doesn't help I guess you will need additional assistance of a technician.

  • Satellite C50 won't boot to the top

    Hello

My son satellite C50 won't boot to the top. It is connected to the power grid and will arrive at the password screen but as soon as you type goes into shutdown. Any suggestions please?

    Thanks in advance.

You write about Windows or BIOS password?

In any case, on this virtual path, it is not easy to give an exact explanation what can be wrong there.
Your son of many important data stored on this machine? If this isn't the case, you should try to reinstall the OS and test it with the factory settings.

What you can try is to enter the BIOS settings and leave the machine 5 minutes to see if cell phone will go OFF. If this isn't the case, set the BIOS to the default settings and try again.

Is the cooling fan may be strong at the start of the machine?

Check the voltage of the AC adapter, if his less than 19volts gift, it could be defective.

Otherwise, it looks like he needs a new mainboard. You might be able to find one on eBay.
