  This is a built-in security feature.  There is an easy solution.  Click onStart-> all programs-> Accessories.  Right click onNotepadand then click run as administrator.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow or Yes.

  Open the Hosts file (from the notebook, that you opened), make your changes, and then click file ->Save.

  Hi all

  I have a 100 page document that uses two queries to javascript FindChange to clean an imported XML file. I use the same files to clean for years and they worked very well. (I still only open in CS4 because I had some problems when you try to use this combo XML/find-replace in CS5 and 6.) The only difference is my computer has been upgraded, the apps reinstalled and am now running 10.9.5

  I can import the XML very well in my template, but when I double click FindChangeByList.jsx, select Document, click OK, nothing happens. I do not get a second dialog box asking me to choose my cleanup of txt file.

  I have only run this job once a year, so it's possible that I'm doing something wrong. I have copies of my txt files place in as many scripts as I can find it on my computer, but they are greyed out in support FIndChange file in InDesign.

  Please help, it's the only way to correct this XML!

  2 things:

  1. assuming that your script is original - it is not by asking a TXT file grow is in the expected location. You can choose between 2 options:

  • to remove FindChangeList.txt of FindChangeSupport file ==> script will ask another file
  • to replace this file with your request ==> script won't ask but to run your query

  2. you can see greyed TXT files in the Script Panel since this panel shows the executable files (the script formats)

• File Express dialog box won't let me enter the new file name

  I try to use the writing of XML file.vi to write a file which may be an existing file, but it may be new.  I would like to than the default to provide so that the user can simply click OK.  I would also like to provide my own text to the top of the window.

  Writing to an XML file is not enough entries to do so I thought I'd use the Express VI from file dialog box to do this.  I provide the startup path and the default name etc.  But when I run my VI and type a new file name a window pops up saying: (new name of file) file not found.  Please check that the correct file name was given.  Ok.

  I don't see any way around that.

  Have you tried to download the Mozilla downloads window installer and run it with wine charger?

  Try to add the .jpg file extension yourself if Firefox does not when you save an image file.
  
  If you have already saved images with an incorrect file extension, then rename them and add a .jpg file extension. Check the properties of the file via the context menu to see if that worked.

  Create a bootable USB drive or DVD from the .iso in Windows 8:

  Then start under it and install.

  If you do not format anything during installation, all your old files will be placed in folder C:\Windows.old.

  You can then copy what you want to keep, get out of here.

  After that, you can use the disk cleanup utility to remove this folder if you check the box to do this.
