  Reset the wireless network and make sure that you set the level of security to WPA2-Personal, as it is recommended.

  You can use what you want, there is no such limitation. However when you go to cloud service based like loading or sync files to your cloud storage, you need an active Internet connection.

• Internet connection sharing does not work anymore

  I have used Windows Vista Home Premium for 2 years now on my laptop. Internet connection sharing enabled to connect to the internet via my wireless adapter and allowed me to share my internet connection through the ethernet port. He worked for more than a year. All of a sudden 4 months ago Windows Vista doesn't let me share the internet connection more. When I go to networking and sharing Center, click on "Manage network connections" and it shows that my "Wireless Network Connection" is always set to share. So after reading several forums, I clicked on wireless network connections and click right properties. Then I clicked on the sharing tab, to make sure that "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" has been verified and that it is. After that, Windows Vista will not always share the internet. Someone suggested that I double check the IP version 4 and 6 on the wireless and Ethernet connection were defined on IP addresses obtain automatically, and they are. The computer still will not share the internet connection! I even took the manufacturer in the view of portable and made sure my cable modem Simulator wasn't bad. I took it to a computer store and we checked the crossover cable. Everything is fine! What else can I try?

  Please check the option sign-out after x... on your router. The sign-out feature is used to disconnect the router from your ISP automatically when there is no activity for a certain period of time. For example, place a check mark next to this option and enter 5 in the minute field will cause the router to disconnect from the Internet after 5 minutes of no activity from the Internet. This option should be used if you pay for your Internet service by the minute.

  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:

  Run the Internet Connection Troubleshooter and check if that helps.

  Follow the steps to run the Internet Connection Troubleshooter:

  Click the Start button, type Troubleshooting in the search box, and then click Troubleshooting. Under network and Internet, click connect to the Internet and run the troubleshooter.

  Method 2:

  Try to update the graphics driver and check if it helps.

• WRTP54G router: I have wireless internet access, but is not a wired desktop computer.

  We have a great wireless network in the home, but my office (which is not wireless) is unable to access the internet.  It is said that a network cable is unplugged - it isn't.  When a cable is plugged into one of the 4 ports on the back of the router ethernet, ethernet LEDs located on the front doesn't light up or blink or anything.  I think that the part does not work.  Is there something I can do?  Should I update the firmware?  Or just get a new router?  I tried different cables, but nothing changes.  The only way for the office get online is to take the router configuration, but then the wireless network and the Vonage phone came out.

  Make the continuos ping ping 192.168.1.1 t and check how many answers or RTO you will. If you still have some of the answers, connect your PC to the modem to get internet connection and download the latest firmware and utility upgrade for your router.

  3. choose Get downloads

  4. Select the Version of the device

  5. check drivers and downloads, can download the Firmware

  UPGRADE UTILITY

  1. go to www.linksys.com/downloads

  2. Enter the model is BEFSR41

  3. choose Get downloads

  4. Select the Version of the device - Version 4.0

  5. check drivers and downloads, can download the utility

  After downloading these files.

  Connect your PC to the router, and then run the TFTP (Utlity) set Server = 192.168.1.1; Password = admin; then choose the firmware file that you downloaded. Then upgrade the firmware of your router.

  Note: Make sure that you set TCP/IP and DNS server you computer back to GET the IP ADDRESS.

  Note: To run the utility TFTP set TCP/IP and DNS server on your computer to USE THE FOLLOWING IP ADDREESS.

  I've had my computer for almost three years now and during that time, most of the parties on this matter have been replaced.

  More recently, I got both my hard drive and my card wireless replaced due to different problems and now it has developed recently that I can not connect to wireless internet. I live with my best friend, who also has a Dell laptop and I myself own an Acer Netbook and an iPhone, both of which successfully connect to wireless internet. It seems that my system that is having this problem.

  I spoke with representatives of Dell's Support more + 5 times and nothing has solved this problem. They simply tell me it's a software problem and I have to buy something System Repair for $100 + (even after having spend $600 on a warranty, which apparently doesn't cover that material).

  Obviously, I can connect to via an ethernet/cable connection, but not wireless. It's not that the connection is not displayed, it shows and said it connects, but I only have 'Local' go. This isn't the first problem I've had with my wireless; I got other errors such as: "the ability of this network adapter does not match the requirements of this network" or the connection will show, but that their will to be greyed out as if I don't get any kind of connectivity.

  If there is more information that I can give to make this easier to understand, please let me know. I'll post the Windows IP Configuration if necessary to help solve this problem.

  Hello

  Since the update of the driver did not work I would return the system back to factory
  as suggested in my response above. After the revision updated the WiFi driver again. If this
  does not work then it's material. If necessary, you can disable the built-in WiFi and
  use a device of WiFi add-on.

  My wireless (Linksys) network has not demonstrated, so I then reset my PC and sometimes it will appear. Sometimes it won't and I'll keep Reseting my PC up to what it appears. All that when I go into my network wireless LAN appears as a wired connection. What I do because I need the Internet, it OF my job. Tell me if I don't have this clear enough in the comments! It still doesn't work do not, so just the coincidence, I thought I might have accidentally pressed F2-function, my Internet appeared and I had no problems!   I build two computers with Win7 Ultimate and need to share a modem on a wired network connection. I have got the file sharing to work between the two machines and followed all the instructions concerning the ICS, but still not get the no host machine to connect to the Internet. I chose the option on the host computer to allow machines on the network to control the connection, and of course, when I plug the cord of connection linking the two, the host dials upward. However no program on the computer no host can actually communicate.

  You are in the right place.  The host of cable connecting network address IPv4 is not what it should be, which indicates that ICS is not configured correctly.

  While remaining in 'Control network and Internet\Network connections', right click on the connection dial-up, and then click Properties > sharing .  If Internet connection sharing is checked, uncheck it and click OK.  Then go back and put a check mark in this box to re-enable Internet connection sharing.  If a box appears asking you to select a private network connection, select the connection of cable system in the menu.
