WRT 160NL firmware upgrade ever end!

Hello

I am trying to upgrade the firmware version 1.00.01 B15 to 1.00.01 17 (the only one available on the linksys Web site). It is not allowed to turn it off or reset it. However, the upgrade progress stopped at 98% and never ending so far. Should I wait longer (another day)? Or I can just reset/power off of the it?

Attached is a snapshot of the screen for reference.

Thank you.

The firmware upgrade process must be complete...

Try the following steps... Press and hold the button of reset for 60 seconds... Release the reset button and unplug
the power cable from your router, after only 30 seconds reconnect the power cable...

Now, as do the settings of the browser on the computer... Open an IE, click Tools > Internet Options, and then delete all files, cookies, history, forms... GoTo 'Connections', make sure never Dial
a connection is checked, click on network settings and make sure that all the options are unchecked... Once you are finished, click OK... Close IE and reopen...

Now, try to upgrade your router firmware... it should work!

  • BEFW11S4 v.4 and Vista - firmware upgrade failure

    Hello

I've had this router for about 5 years, it runs with XP without any problem. Since I got a new laptop with Vista, the wireless connects for an hour or two, and then falls back and I have to unplug the router for five seconds, then reconnect to reconnect (my other laptop with XP has not this problem).

I understand that there is compatibility between the BEFW11S4 v. 4 and Vista problems so I tried to update the firmware of dartybox.com and kept getting a message that failed. I hard rebooted the router but button of restart 30 seconds and the upgrade has always failed. I so re-set to factory settings through the online admin to the router, re-uploaded the implementation level and still got the emssage failed (I am sure that the model number & version is correct and I download the appropriate firmware upgrade).

Is there anything else I can do another one) buy a new router; (b) living with school drop-outs; (c) remove Vista and go back to XP?

    Thank you

    Bigdank

Genius! I have changed the name of code.bin, went to the admin > tab upgrade firmware and the upgrade file. I had a wireless without interruption ever since, even after the awakening of the laptop to sleep.

    Thanks for your help

  • BDX4350KB Wifi adapter and firmware upgrade doesn't work do not

It is a sequel to my earlier question about if the WLM-20U2 Wifi adapter will work in my blu - ray player.

After buying the adapter I plugged it and a message 'not supported', if I tried to connect wireless it says there was no an adapter connected.

So I assumed that this necessary upgrade, so I formatted a 1 Gb USB drive with the FAT file system, downloaded the file level (version 39 http://www.dl.toshiba.com/player/NA/GB/EN/BDX4350KB.html) and copied the file .bin on the USB.

When I plugged into the player and said to check the disk for a file to update it tells me that "frontend file is not found"... There was only one file to download, and it wasn't in a folder so I guess I'm supposed to just copy that file on the USB drive.

I checked the USB port with a memory stick with photos on and it works fine.

How to get the upgrade to work in the hope that it will enable the wifi adapter to work?

    Thank you

  • 200 d IOmega IX4 Firmware upgrade failure

    Hello

I have an IX4 - 200 d which I inherited. Initially, it wouldn't boot and display only the symbols of USB stick/network after about 60 seconds.

With some searching on Google, I created a boot disk USB with the firmware updated on this issue. All goes well until the Firmware upgrade begins. I go to the step of (what I assume is) the upgrade of the firmware and it gets 75%, hold for 5 seconds and then the machine stops.

I tried to repeat the update of the firmware with all the drives present, with every other drive in the first slot and with all the disconnected drives. But it seems to behave in the same way.

Is this a known issue? Or could it be a hardware failure?

I'm pretty eager to find a solution - it takes a long time for me to accept defeat.

The only other suggestion that suggested Dr. Google is to start linux and reformat the hard drive?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Pete

    Hi André,.

    This case can be closed.

After the above mentioned procedure eventually work, I didn't know that - ALL readers should be present and formatted during an attempt of USB firmware update / install.

The link again on the forum - http://forum.nas-central.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4401

This seems to be the only solution.

  • Jump and mix tracks after firmware upgrade?

I can't explain it. Since the latest firmware upgrade Fuze my wife started jumping titles (for example jump to the next song to halfway through the current), but a funniest part - he mixes parts of files. We can listen to a song, and then all of a sudden he would be interrupted by 1 second of a file from a different album and then come back to play the first song from the point it was interrupted. What gives?

Me that was too much.  I downloaded all my music back and reset my Fuze and reformatted it.

Charge of excessive songs and back on went.

  • BEFSR81 Firmware Upgrade Gone Bad?

Just putchased a new BEFSR81 router.  Using the installation CD, I got it Setup and works very well.  Then, I went to the support of Linksys and found page a more recent version of the firmware.  My version is 2.51.4.  I downloaded the 2.51.4.6 version and installed. I made sure to choose the version for my model 3.1. He appeared to install OK, because I got the message that it was for the page in 5 seconds.  Now I can't go to the web-based configuration page.  I can ping 192.168.1.1 and get a normal response, but by entering that address in my browser just times out.  I turned off the router and even held the reset for 30 seconds, but don't can't go in the web-based configuration page.

This router is now watered?  Do I need to send it back?

Thanks for any help on this.

  • The Linksys BEFSR41 V2 Firmware upgrade help

I can't open the MacBinary (.bin) files that I downloaded from linksys, in order to update my firmware. I used my utility to archive, Stuffit Expander Mac and BetterZip, and so far none of them opens the file. Anyone have the firmware upgrade in a different format or advice on how to solve my problem.

Do not touch the file you downloaded. The only software that uses it is your browser.

You must open the web interface of the router at http://192.168.1.1/ and then use the upgrade of the firmware here.

I don't know if the demo user interface is always up to date, but if it is as you should find it on the help page. See here. Click Update Firmware. Then, press the Browse button and select the .bin file that you downloaded. Then press upgrade and the browser will download the file on the router.

  • WRT610N firmware upgrade question

I have a simple question about the firmware upgrade.  I want to know if it's OK when the upgrade of the firmware on a wireless router for rather than press reset and rest for 30 seconds, that I connect with my browser and 'load Factory Deaults?

I read, where they are supposed to do the thing of the SME and the method of web browser is much easier worth me.

Can anyone confirm this or should I press the button to reset for 30 seconds?

    see you soon

It is advisable to reset the router after the upgrade of the firmware. For once you upgrade the firmware on the router... Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now, you can re - configure your router.

  • After restart of the firmware upgrade

Hi, I need to update the firmware on my controllers PS6100 EqualLogic.

I found the instructions on how to do it and everything seems straight forward to do so via the GUI.

I noticed there is a necessary restart after the firmware has been applied. Does this mean I have to gracefully shutdown the virtual machines running on my SAN LUNS? My iSCSI connections will be closed/broken during the restart of the post firmware upgrade?

    Thank you, Oliver.

    Hello Oliver,.

In the same area download notes firmware and release is another PDF, entitled ' iSCSI initiator and optimize your SAN environment for high availability operating system considerations ", which includes some key parameters that will allow your computers virtual and servers through the failover time.  It is important that not only the Firmware update, but in the case of an unexpected failure due to a failure of CM.

More if you use VMware ESXi, there is a best practices PDF for that as well.  In addition to better manage the failover, these changes have shown to improve performance as well.

The Tech report TR1091 is available here:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/Extras/m/white_papers/20434601/download

Changes for Windows and the knots of ESXi virtual machines will require a reboot to take effect.

What version of firmware you are at, and what version you are migrating towards?

Other things I always propose updates is to ensure that both controllers are plugged in your switch and in the VLAN correct.  Since assets CM are failed over to the passive, support gets much advertising is unable to access the storage after firmware update.  Or ports of the day before were not in the VLAN correct, or individuals with disabilities, etc...

It is for these reasons that personally I prefer to do the updates via the serial port CLI.   The process is more talkative, and if something should go wrong, you need the serial port of some sort.   Since the installation and tested in advance is a huge time saver.   Here, we use serial mux so that all array controllers are easily accessible.

  • SGE2010 - Firmware upgrade and config does not save

    Hi all

I have a few questions, but ill start with what im trying to achieve.

With the help of the EMS 2010 for Microsoft NAP with 802.1 x auth for access to the switch, which has led to some questions

What I have: an EMS 2010 48 port switch firmware 3.0.0.17

Firmware update: to ensure im not having not problems due to the old firmware, I tried to upgrade using ros_ls1_bp_ge_bx - 3020.ros to 3.0.2, by downloading the file through TFTP, the transfer is complete and that's all, nothing happens.

Restarting the device: as part of the upgrade process, I thought I might restart, so I rebooted and found that all my settings were cleaned, as if a reset occurred... and add further pain, the backup of the settings I had taken do not appear to introduce themselves with a new request.

NAP support: so I tested my server NPS (RADIUS) with NTRadping.exe and everything is good, however I can't the SGE2010 to talk to it... the authenticator State in the web interface is still listed as initializing... I'm not sure if it is a simple mismatch (where the attempt of a firmware upgrade), a tag that should be on the side of RADIUS or switch misconfig.

    So, in summary:

    (1) how the hell you upgrade the firmware?

    (2) why are none of my saved settings to restart the device?

    (3) if anyone one of them puts up with PAN and has all wisdom of bone beads, let me know.

Hi Ben, once you update the firmware, you need to go to the active image, apply the second image. Restart the unit. Regarding the configuration of switch, you must save the configuration running at startup configuration

Admin-> file management-> copy files (running at startup)

  • Cisco of WRV 210 Firmware Upgrade at the end of life

I'm new to Cisco and not very knowledgeable on the networks, but looking for updated firmware for Cisco/Linksys WRV210 router.  Current firmware is 1.1.16 and I think 2.0.1.5 is available but I am not able to find if.  The router is on the list of 'End of Life' Cisco and is not supported, it seems.  I would like to move to a new router if there is no suggestion.  It is used for small businesses at home and structurally with cat5e cable.  Works well on my PC but when I went to the Macbook pro, I often have to renew the DHCP lease for a connection to continue.  When I added a 8 Dynex gigabit ports switch to my stereo equipment ' head in ' to divide the Ethernet for the TV, receiver, Set Top box and Blu - Ray on Pandora streaming now stops after a few minutes of listening.  Message appears on television (unstable network connection) or (not connected to the Internet) then removes Pandora.  With Ethernet connection running Pandora on my Macbook pro is always very well and never stopped.  I'm autoconfiguration for 100 Mbit/s full duplex (which could be a problem) and the new gigabit 8-port switch not set manually I know.  Maybe not the router but a problem of negeotiation automatic network.  I want to upgrade to 1000 Mbps network best steam netflix, etc.  I'm not sure I even the configuration of the router WRV 210 correctly, but if I replace it, I'll use it in another application.  I thought that I would update the firmware on the router WRV 210 to see if it helps while working this problem.  I can't find the firmware, if someone could make a suggestion, I would it would be greatly appreciated.

    Scott,

Navigating Cisco's Web site can be a little intimidating sometimes.  Here is a link to the firmware:

    http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282414014&flowid=788&softwareid=282463177&release=2.0.1.5&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest.

You may need to be logged in order to reach this link.  If you do not have a Cisco user id, you can sign up for one and it will allow you to get more resources than when not connected.

  • WRT54G v1.0 Firmware upgrade

I'm trying to update the firmware for a WRT54G v1.0 (I think, it doesn't have a version # on the sticker).  I downloaded the firmware (through a google cache to the linksys support page cuz link is down).  I have unziped the file. I did a hard reset (60.60.60).  Then I connected to my router (admin pass so I don't know the reset worked) went to "system > Firmware update > Upgrade" opened the dialog box.  Then I bowsed to the .bin file found he opened it and clicked on 'Upgrade'... nothing has happened... waited... still nothing, no progress bar, nothing, nada, neah... whats up?

I can still access the router as usual and ect is just the dialog box upgrade that seems broken.

    So, any ideas?

  • The RV042 Firmware upgrade problem

    Hello

I was responsible for upgrading the firmware on the router RV042 in more than 30 remote locations. The problem is that when I update the firmware the vpn tunnel or office does not reconnect and we lose communication with the router. What can I do to keep the vpn tunnel directly without having to travel to each site just to get the vpn tunnel to the top?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

You should check if the option Keep Alive and the dead peer detection is enabled on both ends of the tunnel VNP. They help to plug the tunnel once it falls.

    I hope this helps

  • Extension stopped working after firmware upgrade WN2000RPTv3

    I updated my firmware to wn2000rptv3 - V1.0.1.4.

Now, my range extender only goes to a page in the account registration.

Nothing I try (mywifiext.net, http://www.routerlogin.netor .com) helped him.

While I didn't create an account, I tried to anyway.

After you have filled all fields, the next button stayed grayed.

It didn't matter how many times I've tried, it's always the same.

I tried with passwords symbol 12 and 15. No luck.

Now, my extender is basically useless unless someone can tell me how to solve this problem.

The Extender worked like a champ before the upgrade.

Just goes to show that newer isn't always better.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for the reply DarrenM.

I followed the instructions but it will not be upgraded. I tried several times.

Finally, I rebooted the computer and retried all on and VOILA, it worked like a charm.

I even braved upward and updated again and it took the update of firmware as a champion.

Don't know what I did wrong on the first upgrade.

Don't know what tomorrow will bring, but tonight, I'm a happy camper.

    Thank you very much!!!

Hello plantingrichard, first of all, it would be useless to worry about Firmware updates, because data for these Firmware updates are stored in the devices that the firmware has been installed for.

You may be able to restore the system with the feature of restoration of HP Recovery from the hard drive to the system startup and the F - 11 key when the HP Logo screen. Just as it was when shipped, it would put all HP applications on the system.

You can then use the Vista DVD disk and perform an inplace of Windows Vista SP1 upgrade.

If you don't want all HP applications, you can perform a new installation of Vista.

You may be able to locate the Vista SP2, but I suggest the Windows Update site and download and install all updates including Vista SP2.

If you have a DVD of Vista SP2, you can use it to upgrade or new installation. The Vista SP2 would have included in the DVD of Vista SP2 SP1 updates.

As you suggest, it will take some time to complete, but you'd probably have a more stable system using this approach.
