WRT1900AC updated firmware over wireless?

I have a router WRT1900AC

On my last router, it was very important to make all updates of firmware via a wired connection

On this WRT1900AC, I read the firmware upgrade process p.43 user guide and it is said you can leave it on the automatic update or click Update but it does not say anywhere that you must be connected to the router with an ethernet cable

Is it safe to update via a wireless connection?

It should work fine, but Ethernet is always recommended.

  • Update firmware for wireless printer?

I recently bought a LaserJet CP1525nw.  It is NOT light and it is located in a central area of my house.  It has integrated wireless and I have a wireless connection to it.  One of my PC is an HP and its pilot of routine updates check revealed that the new firmware is available for the printer. The firmware update description says that it can be run successfully on a network or through a USB connection.  Of course, my "network connection" is wireless and I have heard in the past that the firmware updates should be made via a wired connection only.  On the other hand, I have never had a printer that has been designed to operate on a wireless connection.

So my question is... is it safe allow the update of the firmware to do wireless, or do I need to connect the printer via USB?

    Thank you...

I've updated my cp1525nw, wireless, no problem.

  • WRT54G2 ver 1.5 firmware update - loss of wireless connection

After updating the firmware by the instructions, everything worked as expected until I received the message "upgrade reboot successfully" and I clicked on "continue".  At this time there the indications pointing to reset the router, I did.  But I could not restore the routers settings according to the instructions because I lost my wireless connection and could not properly use the Wi - Fi Protected Setup to restore.  I was blocked because the cell phone was the only computer on the network.  After a few hours and find out I could directly access internet via the modem, I found a solution in the forum that has helped me.  I used a patched my laptop and additional ethernet cable into one of the ports on the router and managed to access my page of the web-based configuration, and everything was good.  Hope this helps someone else and allows them to save time and heartache.

That is right.  You're never update firmware wireless as it says in the instructions to always use a wired computer.

  • NIC WRT1900ACS shows all devices wireless LAN connections

You just bought a WRT1900ACS which seems to work well, except that the NIC appears all devices as it is connected to the local network instead of on the 2.4 GHz band or 5 GHz to which they are attached.  This is true for our iPhones and Chromecast devices that aren't able to connect via WiFi.  Any thoughts on a way to solve the problem?

You will need to wait for the next firmware update and hope they fix it.  I guess that your WRT1900ACS updated when you set up and it has no doubt the 1.0.0.172978 firmware version because this version really screwed up for the network card so that it is not usable.  The 1.0.0.168229 original version came with a problem of restart, the next vesion 1.0.0.169041 does not solve the problem of restart, the 1.0.0.172978 last seems to have solved the problem of restarting, but presents Newwork card problems and in addition several people (including myself) reported that the most recent firmware version reduced the power of 2.4 and 5 GHz TX on 10dBm compared to previous versions of firmware.  If you want to follow all the discussions on these points follow the section entitled "new firmware for WRT1900ACS 1.0.0.172978.  This topic is up to 10 pages now and continues to grow.

  • Update firmware CM1415

Update firmware CM1415 malfunctions. (CM1410 MFP series FW Update 20120629)

After a few minutes the wireless connection is lost.

I use e-print, or fax function, the same thing happens. Lost wireless connection.

Not possible to use ePrint settings.

'Lost' mode it is not possible to print reports, etc.

If I turn on and turn on the printer it works for a few minutes, then returns to the error state.

Where can I find more old firmware to reverse and to have a functional printer?

    Thanks for your tip!

While preparing for the partial resetting, I found under network settings > reset to the standard network settings.

After that I've reconfigured the network and now it seems stable. I see that it stays on if I do the reset.

    Thank you.

  • WAG160N - cannot update firmware de.09

I downloaded the updated firmware (A Anex).15 but no matter what I try, I can't firmware to stick.

    (1) I tried the Firmware Upgrade option via the HTML interface to the router. I select the file (WAG160Nv1-EU-ANNEXA-ETSI-1.00.15-code.img) and click on the upgrade button. It seems to be loading the file in, counting to height of the percentage until it got to 100%, then the screen seems to be messed up. I turn off the router for 30 seconds and then on again, but it remains as version.09. I also tried the reset button for 30 seconds and then turn off now. No diff.

    (2) have also tried the TFTP.exe program without success, because it cannot connect to the server as it is said that there is no reply from her.

I have screenshots if anyone is interested.

I am at a loss. Certainly not a local help available by phone. Must have stuck to DLink - at least you can call.

Does anyone have a similar experience? A way around it?

(And reason for wanting to upgrade est.09 keeps giving up DSL connection and Wireless disappears.)

  • Update firmware on Satellite A200-1gh - noise emissions under Linux

My laptop contains this sound card: 00:1 b. 0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801 G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) @ Realtek ALC861-VD. There is a problem somewhere in the firmware of this map or the Linux kernel.

We use Backtrack 3 who is Slax based Linux distro.
I've been with many professional talking about Linux, Bud, no one is really sure what is the problem. They said several things to try; one of them is updated firmware. I've never done this before, I'm looking for help.

Number of exact model of my laptop is Toshiba a200-1GH psaece

    Please help if you can

    > There is a problem somewhere in the firmware of this map or the Linux kernel
What are you talking about boyfriend? This firmware of the sound card that you hear?
    I think you're confused.

First of all there is NO firmware for the sound card. Second, the sound card is controlled by sound driver.
Always is it that Toshiba laptops are preinstalled with Windows OS.
Linux is not supported at this time, and you won't find driver for sound card for Linux.

If you need a sound driver for this sound chip, you will need to download it from Realtek Web site!

That s all about your firmware to his mysterious map.

My Sony BDP S360 Bluray stopped playing discs Blu Ray, everyone else will play. I have updated a.007 with success, but still will not play blu ray. I always get invalid or no disc message. What to do next?

Addendum to my previous post. The drive is locked during playback of a disc, and after that this point would not recognize a blu ray. Even after updating firmware.

  • Satellite A45: need to update firmware on DVR K12D drive

    Hello...
IM new here... Well, I have a toshiba > Satellite A45 Series... which had a DVD Multi Drive (DVR K12D) inside. The problem is that his operation stopped. Sometimes she would write a CD then sometimes it spoils my CD. I used on the media player were Verbatin, Imation, Supermedium, Sony.

Well the reader works as a very short period and then dies OFF... every time I took it to the repair center...

The drive has been changed now 4times by toshiba support. I asked for the release of Firmware from 1.05 to 1.15 or higher. They keep answering back telling me to ask pioneer. But it is an OEM obvious by toshiba.

The player after having been changed stops working without delay of 2 to 3 months max 4 months time and den customer tried upgrading the drive by putting a higher config recorder multi disc double tht is the 8 GB one. The satellite detects that hardware.

been 2 years now my readers send me problems such as:

    does not read DVD
    doeant read CD RW
    don't write CD/DVDs
sometimes DVD detects any sometimes they detect its weird.

The only solution is to update the firmware, but how can I do? I need the update of the firmware. I called toshiba WE also, they talked for two hours and then answer that I have to contact pioneer!

    Please help me!

    Vik!

    Hello

CD/DVD players support generally not all means.
As far as I know in the manual you will find a list of the CDs and DVDs is supported and it works properly.

In addition, it seems that this device was designed for an American market and in this case, you should look at the Toshiba Site us.

    I checked this American site:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

There, I found several notebooks A45 and the necessary drivers. I also found a driver for DVD rom and ram. It s not a firmware update but maybe it helps.

However, on Toshiba Europe site, I found several updates firmware for the readers and the different European books but as I said at the beginning you have a US laptop and have to look on the American website. If you don't get an update of the firmaware if you ask the manufacturing of the car.

In addition, I want to say that you can not be sure that, after updating the firmware of the player will not work correctly. This kind of malfunction looks like a defect of lens calibration and therefore only a replacement disc can solve this problem.
If the drive has been replaced several times so I guess that the guarantee is valid and you will get a new.

  • jumble of text in the web interface after Web Services update / firmware

I received a message on the screen of my Officejet 6700:

    Update recommended

An update is available for Web Services (ePrint and Apps).

    Do you want?

I chose to update now and it installed fine, or so I thought.

I checked the web interface of the printer, and there is a bunch of text confused, as the code is messed up for the web server.

I had just finished to check the status of your ink cartridges (and subsequently replaced a), so I have the fully functional Web page fortunately still open on another machine, so I can tell exactly what is forward - after on this page.

On the tools > gauge of ink page, on the right page (old) the said table (title, first line, first column):

    Cartridges installed

    Color | Magenta | Cyan | Yellow | Black

    Part number

    Type

    End of warranty date (A-M-J)

    First Installation Date (A-M-J)

    Area of ink

    USE

    HP

But after the software update, it says this:

    Print the self-test Page

    L@S#0456 | Number of recorded events. L@S#0462 | L@S#0552 | L@S#0450

    Use of the accumulated media

    Date

    L@S#0477

    L@S#0561

    L@S#3345

In addition, the order "supplies" link, with a contextual text of "print order supply."

now, says "Cartridge", with a contextual text ' block unwanted faxes '

And "Print Printer Status Report" now says "L@S#2567".

I went to the support section and found an update firmware, but during download and execution, after you find the printer, he says that he is already up to date and leaves me not choosing to try and reapply the update of the firmware (as is obviously what is happening through the touchscreen menu has already done).

Should I just restore to factory settings? I think that firmware would not be changed by doing this. It is not an older version of the firmware available on the product support page, to return to an earlier version.

Via the screen menu touch printer, a Printer Status Report print indicates the firmware version is MPM3CN1322DR.

How to force a reinstallation of the firmware, or let them difficulty firmware which was released on 25-06 - 2013?

I've been using Google Chrome and even had 2 tabs open in the same window, one from before the update and the second I opened after the update, so this was not a factor.

I had not revisited the web interface of the printer to date, and currently, I see that the problem has disappeared!
The version of the firmware has not changed, and I did no manipulation of the printer. I also highly doubt that the main user has nothing, because it is not tech savvy. So, the problem seems to have corrected itself.

The only thing I see now, that I did not notice before, is that there is a version of firmware fix, but it currently says 0. I don't know what it was before, but I guess zero means that there is a patch, so the firmware didn't automatically update in order to make the problem disappears.

Problem disappeared, but I don't know how or why. I haven't decided if I will update the second printer that is the same model.

You suffer from one of the problems regarding the update of the firmware?

I've actually found updates of the firmware available for your printer, only critical updates.

Here is the update that I found:

Update critical to prevent a State does not respond and prevent the State from error when connecting to a network.
