WRT1900AC w / eSATA disk external DRIVE in place

I have problems with the hard drive connected to the eSATA port. The files seem to be missing and files on the disk write copy is problematic. When I disconnect the drive and connect directly to my laptop, that the files are there and read/write function normally. This started happening recently, but only after I done a FW update. Don't know if there is a correlation.

Hi Juggler777, have you tried to do a factory reset after upgrading the firmware? If not, please try for about 10 seconds then powercycle the router and reconfigure.

I searched through the fourms and can't seem to find this information.  I'm looking for a suggestion on the Setup and the disk external DRIVE via the USB port on the back of the router you can listen to music and videos on my 360 or PS3.  I see that some people have managed to put it in place and I would like to know which external HARD drive that they use.

I want my externall HDD to sleep, but I want that it to wake up when I go to play the music on my computer or 360 or PS3.  Please post what disk external HARD - that someone has found that works.  Or should I just go with a NAS connected on one of the router's ethernet ports?

Any player should work.  I use a WD drives on my own, (although I share with other systems then the xbox).  Actions are implemented for UPnP.  The documentation should be sufficient to implement that.  Make sure the drive is formatted as an NTFS drive, or it is not possible.

In addition, make sure you have the latest firmware (21 January 2009).

Set up the drive (aka format)

    Create groups

    Create users

    Implement UPnP

    It should work.

In record time, readers built into the firmware and the timeout when they timeout.  You would not be able to set the timeout on this.  I didn't know all the disks than that.  If you are REALLY interested in saving energy buy a USB solid state with no moving parts.  They turned off immediately after what they read/write.

    I hope this helps.

  • New Mac, same disk external DRIVE for the library; does not see the files

I reconnected my iTunes library from a disk external DRIVE to my new computer, but iTunes does not recognize my files of the ALAC instead, he goes to the cloud and plays music from Apple things. How can I listen to my files? All the files are there, the library is intact; I changed the path in iTunes. Without result. He always plays with the cloud.

You do not change the path in iTunes.  Who does as it says which is tell iTunes where media files [new] store. You change the path you launch iTunes by holding down the option/alt key, while the application starts and then choose when prompted the iTunes Library.itl file in the iTunes folder you included if all goes well on the hard disk external.  If everything you have on the outside are media files, then you better head for your old computer fast and get the rest of the library there.  It's the rest of these files in the iTunes folder that make up the other half of the 'library' iTunes needs.

  • CD device virtual disk external DRIVE on a Toshiba Stor.e Alu 2s (USB3.0)?

Every time when I connect my new external 1 to (2.5 ') USB3.0 HDD of my PC, there is automatically a virtual cd drive.

It only contains the manual and a link to the 'revolutionary' Toshiba market and there is no way to remove it permanently.
The whole score is 6 MB in size, and in my opinion totally useless (there is no available encryption).

Toshiba is not able to update their software "Toshiba drive Converter" when they release new material to give to users who want a simple portable drive without any publicity, a chance to get what they paid for?

    > The whole score is 6 MB in size and in my opinion totally useless (there is no available encryption).
The partition any HARD drive could be easily deleted.

-You must right click on the desktop icon and select Manage
-Now in the management of the computer window click to enlarge: the computer management (Local) \Storage\Disk management that you can find in the left pane
-Now right click on the partition or volume you want to delete and select "Remove the Volume" in the center pane. Note! You must choose the partition of 6 MB on the external HARD drive that you connected to the laptop!
    -The partition will be deleted.

I am interested in getting the new Xbox 360 E model to replace my Slim 1 1/2 year, but I want to keep my external hard drive of 250 GB. Is it possible to buy an E 360 4 GB console and then use my hard drive on it? Or the E-360 is compatible with its own specially designed hard drives?

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron

IAM intend to make a rescue disk via., Dell backup and recovery (DBR) - Basic Version

Now, it says WRT below external link that this process will create two partitions on the hard drive.

(Wipe all prior content of course.)

DBR_BOOT (25 MB used out of 500 MB on a FAT32 style MBR partition)

    DBR_MASTER (9.7 GB used off GB 921 on a style of MBR of NTFS partition);

Now, my question is will I be able to save my other files on the external hard drive that I use for the above process?

(as the above process creates two partitions of 921 GB & 500 MB)

IAM intend to save a system image from my computer on this disc well also, I have a few 250 GB of personal & video files

(Iam that will buy a drive hard 500 GB to make the above process...)

    H ipkmishra86,

You will need to copy your other files on the hard disk before the distribution, you will lose it. When you have completed the process you can put back them on here.

Come on cheshire! The update of the BIOS is risky If you n t know how to do!

  • Can the data on a disk external drive which has been recorded on an XP32 be transferred on a WINDOWS7 64 bit without any damage to the computer or the data?

I saved data on my external HDD in TViX from my old computer, which is 32 bit and XP Sp3. Now, I would like to transfer these data to my new computer, which is Windows7 64 bit. It's not clear to me if this is possible, or what can be done.

    Hello

What type of data you have stored on external hard drive Tvix?

Usually, you should be able to easily move data from Windows XP to Windows 7 computer via external data. This should not affect the data on external hard drive if the condition of the drive is good.

  • 3200 Maxtor disk external drive (installed) does not systematically start upward. I get the message "code 10". How can I fix it?

I did troubleshoot directions, uninstalled and reinstalled.  Also disconnected and re-connected.  Sometimes it works, but not always.

    It is a new problem.

According to this thread support, the drive doesn't have enough power to start, and sometimes the player not spin up. It seems that, over time, the power supply provided by maxtor, when you bought to deteriorate and no longer provide enough power to the drive. When the player does not have enough power to the adapter, it can try to draw power from the USB. When the player draws too much error, windows it disconnects and gives you the error code. try to find another 12v adapter that matches.

  • Mac App Store is writing updates on an external drive!

    Hi people,

I recently added an external USB3 drive of my Mac Mini, which is in place and it works very well. It is journaled HFS +, property is 'ignored' and it is mounted in /Volumes as you would expect. (I also have to stress is the fourth disc I added in this way.) My main drive is unchanged, still mounted on / and is always presented as my boot drive in system preferences. It was also around 450 GB of free space.

However, when I update an application such as Pages or via the Mac App Store numbers, it creates a folder in the "new" external drive and place the .app file here. Also, it creates a directory/library and places receipts in there, too. Applications updates do not appear in the Dock or dashboard.

The behavior is completely recreatable and persists reboots of the system.

I can't find an obvious preference setting to control the target disk. is it possible that I can configure or reset the Mac App Store to use my main drive?

Thank you very much in advance for any help or advice.

    Graham

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.

Please triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select:

    ls -@BOaen / | pbcopy

Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing the command-V key combination. I tested these instructions only with the Safari browser. If you use another browser, you may need to press the return key after pasting.

Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) below what you entered.

The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produces no output, the Clipboard is empty. Paste into a reply to this message.

The Terminal window does not display the output. Please do not copy from there.

  • Cannot recognize the disk external Windows bootable

Then I made a disk external drive bootable (SeaGate Backup more 1 TB), such as specified in How to run the Boot Camp on external drive?

Everything worked perfectly in cmd on my virtual Windows but when I reboot mac and hold option it gives me only the option to start in Macintosh HD.  No hard recovery or Windows bootable external drive.

When I open the boot on my Mac drive, it gives me the opportunity to put my boot drive by default as the external to Windows without title or my Macintosh HD hard drive, but when I select windows as my default and reboot, it starts with a black screen that says "no boot device - insert the boot device and press a key.

Is this a problem with my external hard drive formatting or a problem with the start on Mac?

Others may have a more informed response, but

I think that there are some drivers that need to load for the computer to recognize an external drive

The situation may be different if you have BootCamp installed on the native player
