WRT54G issue (or not)?

Hello. I used to own a router (wrt54g) for a very long time. I don't remember what was the model number or the version number, but if it's important, I can find it for you. A few weeks ago, my sister had an ipod touch, she recently bought and used very well on our wireless network. She moved last week and I gave him my wireless router to use for his house (use of personal work). I told her how put in place by phone and she has some problems with it. Before even as I got whatever it is its configuration, the previous settings I had here, again, has not worked for her. The first is with his ipod touch. His ipod can recognize the network and even connect to it, but there is no internet access. Same thing with his laptop. I connect to the router with a cable and the router to the modem so that I was able to remote in and see what might be the problem. It does not even work. The only time his connection will work is when it connects directly to the modem. Since it is a new provider of access, it must install anything for the router to recognize the modem?

Hi, I have a problem with my app: after buying the renewable subscription automatically, the latest issue did not become available for download/playback.

Here are the steps I did:

    1. I chose one of the options to subscribe

    2. crossed in App purchase

    3. After crossing the In App Purchase, app updates the library

4 after the library, the last number is not available for download. He still has the buy"" button.

Certificates of ios seems ok (repeated several times), same steps of 3 other apps I already have.

Buying In - app product ID are the same in the iTunes Connect and in the application through Viewer (latest version with tools v19) Builder

    Hello

    Looks like a serious problem.
But for the first time, try this:

-Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter
    -Wait about 20-30 min
-Reconnect the two parts and try to turn on the laptop

If it is not possible to power the laptop then the problem must be related to a serious hardware problem and only the ASP would be able to help you and to see what's exactly wrong with the machine.

  • WRT54G issues...

Hi, I used my WRT54G Router on 2 computers for about 7 months with no problems. A computer running XP is wired and my computer Vista is wireless. The last 2 weeks I had several problems of connection to the router to get internet. I have the signal strength excellent but yet he still has problems to connect, and when it connects to my wireless internet is horribly slow, 56 k speed... Internet on the computer cable is always fast, so it is slower on the wireless connection. I have internet service through comcast cable. I read everywhere in the forum and the linksys Web site and tried everything I found to remedy to this problem, and have yet to be successful. As I've said before that I use this connection for nearly 7 months with no problems, all of a sudden my wireless connection and the connection problems. I doesn't have any setting for the network at this time.

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you

    Chuck

There are many causes of bad connections wireless and many solutions:

First of all, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you use "linksys", you can try to connect the router to your neighbor. Also set 'SSID Broadcast' to 'active '. This will help your computer to find and lock on the signal from your router.

Bad wireless connections are often caused by interference from other 2.4 GHz devices. This includes cordless phones, baby monitor wireless, microwave ovens, wireless mice and keyboards, wireless speakers and wireless network from your neighbor. In rare cases, Bluetooth devices can interfere. Even some 5 + GHz phones also use the 2.4 Ghz band. disconnect these devices and see if that solves your problem.

In your router, try another channel. There are 11 channels in the band of 2.4 GHz channel 1, 6 or 11 generally works better. Discover your neighbors and see what channel they use. Because the channels overlap, try to stay at least + 5 or - 5 channels of your more powerful neighbors. For example, if you have a powerful neighbour on channel 9, try any channel 1 to 4.

Also, try putting the router about 4 to 6 feet above the ground in an open area. Do not place behind your screen or other computer equipment or speakers. The antenna must be vertical.

In addition, in the computer, go to your wireless software and go to 'Favorite networks' (sometimes called 'Profiles'). There are probably a few listed networks. Remove any network called "linksys". Also remove any network that you don't recognize or that you no longer use. If your current network is not listed, enter its information (SSID, encryption (if any) and key (if any)). Select your current network and make your network by default, then set it to auto login. You may need to go to 'settings' to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select 'Properties' or 'settings '.

If the above does not solve your problem, download and install the latest driver for your wireless card.

Some users have reported improved wireless performance by opting for WPA encryption.

If you continue to have problems, try the following:

For wireless g routers, try setting the "baud rate" at 54 Mbps.

If you still have problems, download and install the latest firmware for your router. After an update of the firmware, you must reset the default router, and then configure the router again from scratch. If you have saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

    I hope this helps.

  • WRT54G V5 does not connect to the internet.

I am replacing a WRH54G with a WRT54G.  First of all, I just unplugged and waited 5 minutes. Then I plugged my ethernet cable from the DSL modem into the WRT54G. Then I plugged the DSL modem. I waited for lights stop flashing. Then I plugged the WRT54G and waited for LEDs show the connection. Then I plugged the cord of the WRT54G to computer ethernet. Then I turned on the computer. I was able to access the Interface for the WRT54G, but I wasn't able to connect to the internet. I tried power cycling several times times the modem DSL and the WRT54G. I was unable to access the internet. Finally, I plugged the WRH54G back in and everything worked fine. Any ideas as to why the old WRH54G can connect to the internet and the WRT54G impossible?

In fact in the statement above this still does not work, but ten minutes ago I understand much of the useful post. Because I wasn't getting IP addresses on my new router, I was wondering if some how they were blocked on my old router. So here's what I did. I had my old router connected. I logged into the old router and under status I clicked on the release of the WAN IP. Then I unplugged the old router. Then I connected the internet cable from the modem to the internet port of my new router and connected first ethernet port on the router to the computer. Then I connected the new modem. When I logged in I saw that the router had caught the required IP addresses. My internet is now up and running and with the QOS feature on my new router I can watch YouTube and be on my google phone VOIP at the same time with the blurring! The key was to know that the problem was that my new router was not grabbing IP addresses. This gave me the idea that they were somehow stuck on my old router. When I published their new new caught router. I know this isn't technically how it works, but it solved the problem. Ball-shaped here were the steps of the solution.

    Verizon DSL DHCP

    1. connect to the old router.

    2. click on status

    3. click on WAN IP release address

    4. disconnect all cords of old router.

5 connect the cable modem internet in new internet router port.

    6. connect the ethernet cable to port 1 of the modem.

    7. connect ethernet port 1 of the modem in the computer

8 connect the power cord to the new router.

After I did these things that the internet was working fine with all my other stuff related to the router. I connected the new router, looked under status and saw other and valid IP addresses. Thanks for the help. I hope that someone that nice find if they still have the same problem. I wonder how the addresses IP got stuck on the old router or rather why I had a WAN IP release on the old router before the new router could get a valid IP address.

  • WRT54G wireless does not

Hello everyone, I'm at the end of my mind to what he should do about it and I would appreciate assistance from the community.

I have DSL service, two computers with Windows XP and a router WRT54G v8 firmware build 01 v8.00.7.  One of the computers has wired through the router while the other is connected wireless.  My problem is that the router's wireless features do not work, despite all the relevant witnesses (power, WLAN, 1, Internet).  My ISP is not to blame because I can connect to the internet fine through a wired connection to the router.

I used the troubleshooting features in the EasyLink Advisor.  She claims that the router cannot connect to the internet and to check the cable connections and power cycle the modem/router, what I did, without result.  I also reset the router via the administration of browser page, and pressing the reset button at the back of the router for 5 seconds.  I checked the settings on the browser and can not see what is at the origin of the problem.  All my settings are typical, automatic DHCP, WPA TKIP, etc..  I also tried to disable wireless security to see if that helped, but it did nothing.  I'd appreciate any help leading to a solution to this problem!

Thanks for all the help, but I thought about it, sort of.  My router works again after I used EasyLink Advisor 3.0 (using 1.6 or a older version before), and my antenna wireless pci somehow detached, which did not help at all.

  • Router WRT54G wireless does not work with the new modem

Hi, I use my router WRT54G (Firmware version v2.02.7) on 4 computers for more than four years now, without any problems at all. However, today I had to replace my old modem with a brand new modem Speedtouch from my supplier, and although I made sure each cable has been connected properly, it just doesn't.

The connection between my PC and the router (http://192.168.1.1) is good, but the problem must be between the router and the new modem. When I click on 'Status', he said: ""connection status: disconnected".

After clicking on the 'Connect' button, it tells me that it "can not connect to the PPTP serverbe"

    Help, please

    Hi Matt,

Although the resolution of this problem was a little simpler, I still thank you for your answer.

The neighbor boy came up with the following response:

«It just check the Type of Internet connection, cause you got an old type of modem before.» It will probably be set to PPTP. If this is the case, simply change it to "Automatic DHCP Configuration", click on "Save Settings" and everything should be ok then"

    And he was right!

    I am so happy

    Niqui

  • WAP54G (v3.1) in Repeater Mode to WRT54G (v5) will not affect the IP via DHCP

Hi, I just installed a WAP54G Access Point and define the AP as REPEATER mode.  I followed all the instructions, including the seizure of the MAC address of the router (WRT54G).  The signal seems to have substantially improved by the WAP in Repeater mode, but I can't connect to the wireless network as an IP is not able to attribute.  I tried different laptops running different wireless cards and get the same result.  Two (for WAP and the WRT) MAC addresses appear in the "monitor of the site" the utility of the wi - fi card (of course, WAP is the most powerful signal), but it fails when it tries to acquire a network address.  If I move the laptop closer to the WRT, assigns an IP address physically & I can connect, I just can't get the router to pass the IP address through repetition to the laptop.  I have updated the firmware on the two WRT & WAP.  No difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Fred, you're a genius! Who did the trick!  Live and learn.  I had no idea there is more than one MAC on the WRT54G.  I appreciate your help.  Super Bravo to you.

  • Router WRT54GS wireless can not connect to internet

I am now using a WRT160N router, everything is ok, nothing happens

I have a (ver 6) WRT54GS wireless router that I have not used for 2 years.

yesterday I took the WRT54GS out of the Junk box and replaced the WRT160N by the WRT54GS

I have a desktop computer that is wired & wireless laptops. My Office recognizes the local network and my laptop signal but the my router cannot connect to the internet.

    I tried everything:

    reset

    firmware update

    but nothing has worked

If anyone can help. my ISP is comcast and it comes to my modem http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/Cable-Modems-and-Gateways/SURF...

Bypass the router and connect the master computer directly to the modem.

Make sure that you can access the Internet on your primary computer directly via the modem.

Connect the modem to the Internet port and main computer to the Ethernet port on the router.

Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it manually.

Follow this link to configure the router with cable Internet service.

  • WRT54G Router will not connect on my iPhone automatecally

    Router: Linksys WRT54G ver. 2

    Firmware: 4.21.1 (last)

    Security: WPA2 Personal

    iPhone: 3GS

Can I connect my iPhone to my wireless network, if I broadcast the SSID of the router, but if I turn off the show and then the iPhone can not connect automatically. So, I get the name and the network security code whenever I turn on my iPhone? And I do not broadcast the SSID.

In fact, Disabling SSID broadcast is a bad thing that lowers your security.  The reason of this, it is related to the problem you are having with your iPhone.  SSID was intended to be broadcast - go ahead and rebroadcast.

When a Windows-based computer connects to a "hidden" network, should be a note that the SSID is not broadcast.  From that moment, every time that Windows computer does not have a network connection, it will constantly send the connection requests that you guessed, clearly understood the SSID.  If not, how the Windows computer would be able to connect?  He doesn't know that its in your home and close enough to your router.

The problem is of course that the Windows computer, typically a laptop, will do it everywhere wherever you are.  These packages are easily detectable with the simpler network analysis tools - and striker will be able to detect both your SSID and your MAC without being anywhere near your network address domestic.

Computers (and the iPhone) which are only connected to the "visible" networks don't need to do.  They used scan, looking for those broadcast of the SSID, and then are alive when they find one they know.

The iPhone is a phone, and he needs to save on battery life, so he cannot have the luxury of these packages to search daily for each hidden network, you connect to, so the problem of broadcasting.
