WRT54G Setup for internet access using Lacie Network Space Max

Help, please!

I tried for the past 2 weeks, try to configure my WRT54G Router, so it allows me to access the Lacie on the internet without success. I followed all the instructions of Lacie and all other FAQ and help on the internet, still no luck. I spent several days with Lacie tech support and they could not understand it - why my router would allow me access via internet. I hope that the big guns here can help me.

I have a number of laptops connected to my local network and all wireless laptop can access the NAS Lacie cable to one of the ports on my router. My whole system works wonderful locally.

The Lacie received a static IP address to 192.168.1.199

My local network has an IP departure from 192.168.1.150 and ends to 192.168.1.199

My router IP is 192.168.1.99

I've assigned port forwarding to my Lacie (192.168.1.199) for ports

20, 21, 25, 80 and 443.

I tried other settings but no help. Help, please!

Happy new year!!!

Hey Scrooge.

Thanks for your help... my SIN was in fact all along. I used my cell phone to connect to all this time. Today, I tried my work PC to connect using ftp://x.x.x.x and it is well connected.

I appreciate your help and your patience.

  • Extend my extreme network with another extreme - waiting for internet access

Hello - I have a new generation Airport Extreme (let's call it Extreme1) connected to a Comcast modem and it works very well. The extreme will be the router that the modem has no router function. I'm trying to expand my network to another room with another extreme (let's call it Extreme2). I have a connection cable between two rooms. Extreme1 has an ethernet cable from one of its LAN ports connected on port WAN Extreme2. When I try to create a new network with Extreme2 (in aid of the same name, passwords, etc.) it does not work. He was suspended at the end when he is looking for a connection ("Waiting for internet access")-I did the following things based on what I read here:

    1. Changed IPv6 link local parameters
    2. Tried the whole upward on my Macbook and tried on my iphone
    3. The Wan first and then tried to change the configuration after you done for Extreme2 by creating a network
    4. Tried to create a network with Extreme2 connected directly to the modem
    5. Extreme2 factory reset after every attepmt

And nothing works. Kicker is, I also have a reasonably new airport express and the same thing happens to her as well.

Do I need to adjust some parameters of network that I'm not aware of? Is it possible that my LAN ports are disabled on Extreme2? It is brand new.

    Thanks for any help.

Have you used the Apple Setup Assistant?  If you did, it had notified you that the extreme second was being configured "add using Ethernet. The wizard will automatically configure the second airport with the appropriate settings for you.  All you have to do is enter a name of device for the second AirPort Extreme.

Here I'm assuming that you reset the second extreme to parameters by default until you set it up again and that your second Extreme is the current version of the "tower" or that of previous versions "flat or square.

The example below shows an AirPort Express as the device which is the extension of the network, but you will see the name of your network and AirPort Extreme on your configuration screen.

Post back if you need some tips on using the "Wizard" for your configuration.

  • No Internet access on wireless network

My HP desktop computer that uses Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit has been working well when out of the blue, I can't connect to the internet.  I can connect to the wireless network, but then he said: no internet access in most of the time.  When I go to solve network connections, it will either say "the default gateway is not available" is fixed and sometimes "connection is broken" detected, not fixed.  Sometimes it will say no problem.  I can not load a web page or download anything (although I can connect sometimes but at a very low speed and it does not last more than 30 seconds or so).  There are two other computers that use the wireless network and they both experience no problem.  I tried the Mode safe mode with networking, a clean boot, uninstalled my antivirus, tried to use IE and Firefox at each stage, and a few solutions that I found online without success.  Help, please

  • Windows 7 starter, no internet access, WPA2 Enterprise Network

I use an Asus EeePC for the first time to work.  I replace my ibook apple that I had no problem with in the past. I entered the correct name for the network.  has selected WPA2-Enterprise, AES encriptación.  Using the PEAP authentication.  After entering my user domain\username and password, I connect to the network, but when I look at the network he says no internet access.  I can see my internal network and the computers.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Kbpipes,

First check the edition of Windows 7 installed on your computer, since you mentioned that you use the Windows 7 starter edition. Windows 7 starter edition will not be able to join the domain network. To join the domain network, you will need to install either Windows 7 Professional, ultimate edition.

Access the link below to learn more about the field of Assembly.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/domain-join

To verify which edition of Windows 7 is installed on your computer, follow the steps below.

    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click on computer and click Properties.
    3. Check the information on your computer.

However, you try to run the troubleshooter from network built into windows 7 and check if it can help solve you the problem of connection to the Internet.

Access the link below and follow the steps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

You can also try to temporarily disable the security software of the computer and try to connect to the Internet. If you are able to connect to the Internet, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and check if you need to change the settings. Later, re-enable the security software.

Also, you can try to start the computer in safe mode with network and check if you can connect to the Internet. To boot to the desktop in safe mode with network keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start it in safe mode with select network and press ENTER.

Access the link to learn more about how to start the computer in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

You can also contact your network administrator and check if there are settings that must be changed or configured to access the Internet.

Post back with the above information and let us know the result.

  • iPad will not bring the keyboard when I try to complete an external application for internet access

    Hello

I have a new iPad 2 Air, and very recently he began to refuse to show the keyboard properly, when I am trying to log on to an external internet account. I am traveling and need access to the internet but cannot fill all the required fields, it will bring up the top gray bar with the top and down arrow (they don't do anything, I tried pressing all there) but nothing else, just white space below.

I have read other blogs and tried to reset the keyboard and things like that but he even let won´t let the keyboard.

So, I can not get Internet access Login. Please help, I m new to the forum and hope I've filled it out properly... apologies if I've made mistakes here.

Sorry I haven´t understood my operating system, but when I try to check by going to the software update, it won´t not let me because I Don t have internet.

I suspect a lot of these errors occurred when I updated to version 9.1 of the software as it is not the only problem I encounter now, however, at this stage, it is the most frustrating.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

    Hello Cara, there.

It looks like that your keyboard is not appearing when it should. I'd leave the applications that are run in which you try to get the keyboard works as well as the application of the parameters:

Force an app to close the iOS
    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201330

    1. press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small glimpses of your applications recently used.
    2. slide to the left to find the application you want to close.
    3. push upward on the overview of the application to close.

When you have done that reboot the device and test again the question:

iOS: switch off and on (restart) and reset

I think that these apps may simply need to be reset and refreshed. Thank you for using communities of Apple Support, let us know how it goes!

  • setting up my VM PC for Internet access

    HI -.

I just downloaded the latest demo version of VMware Fusion, enabled with the serial number temporary supplied and installed XP Professional. The platform is a relatively new Mac Mini running the current operating system. My Internet access is through a DSL modem/router which requires a system of client and enter a serial number from 10 numbers as a key.

I don't seem to have access to the Internet on my PC of VM. I'm pretty new to do something meaningful on Windows; can someone tell me how to configure it to access the Internet? I just need to be headed in the right direction; I am sure that I have all the configuration information that I need.

    Thank you.

I would never install SP2 on a clean install if SP3 was the ultimate goal that it is a waste of time and I will not talk about other things.

You should look into creating a slipstreamed SP3 for future facilities .iso image.

Take a look at: Slipstreaming Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3)

Do you want to get this test anyway? I don't know what he's going to tell us now, because I don't have a virtual machine without Internet access.

No, it is not necessary since you have Internet connectivity in Windows XP.

  • Try a laptop through a desktop computer wireless network. Office uses a USB plug for internet access.

I would like to access wireless internet on a laptop (XP; Atheros 802. 11 b / g) with a desktop computer (Win64) that currently, I connect to the internet using a broadband USB connect the device (AT & T USB Mercury).  How can I build a local network of the desktop that I'll be able to connect in the House with the laptop?  Are there restrictions and limitations when using this type of internet connectivity vs a wired version?  (Because of where we live there is no availability ADSL or cable, just wireless).

    Hi Mseibolt,

Thanks for posting. From your post, it seems you are trying to send a signal from your desktop to your laptop using a wireless signal wireless. It is here that I don't see where you have any broadcasting wireless signal from your desktop. If this is the case, then the current senerio would not possible to establish ICS and have it function to your laptop.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • WCG200 & WRT54GS together for internet configuration problems

OK I wil l provide as much information as I can here. First of all, the problem is that until the other day I've used DSL and now switched to comcast cable.  As such, I went and bought the wcg200 cable modem only to find out that there seems to be problem there with the firmware wireless.  Before buying the wcg200, I still have a wireles g Linksys WRT54GS.  Now, I just want to use the modem cable as an internet modem and continue to access everything I got via the 54gs wireless router and cannot find out how to configure the 54gs.

Here is the TRICK so far.  When I restart my computer my default gateway is 192.168.1.1, which is the 54gs and I don't get any INTERNET CONNECTION.

If I have enough IPCONFIG RENEW it switches to 192.168.1.2, and I get INTERNET & life is the way it has been.  Power down the pc and the re-boot and I'm back to 1.1.  Please don't tell me that I have create a .bat file to include in the boot to release and renew.  I'm sure it's a setting somewhere on the 54gs to have this work wireless, but use the wcg200 gateway.

    The cables are as follows:

    -patch cable cat5 wcg200 port 1 to port 1 on 54gs

-wire cable from my computer to port 1 of 54gs until I can get this to work.

    -I can ping 192.168.1.1 which is 54gs & 192.168.1.2 = wcg200

    Currently on the wcg200:

    -DHCP is on

    -IP address is 192.168.1.2

    -IP from de.1.100 for 50

    -Wireless is disabled

-Everything is disabled except for the firewall, multicast and porscans, these are the default values for security.

    -Everythign else is default

    -upnp disabled

    -firmware is 2.0.3.5.10 - 0425

    ON THE WRT54GS

    -J' deleted the PPPoe configuration.

    -IP address is 192.168.1.1

-DHCP is also on (it can not be good)

-wireless is on with - wep

-block the anonymouse applications internet is on

    -multicast filter is on

-filter idnet port 113 is on

    -upnp enabled

    THX

    Snowman777

Option 1: You still use the WCG200 gateway router and the WRT as simple access point. You almost have it. All you have to do is to disable the DHCP server on the WRT. Only the WCG is the gateway router and the DHCP server on the WCG gives correct gateway IP address. The WRT connects customers with wireless local area network. Internet settings on the WRT-related (e.g. the type of internet connection, filter, blocking, upnp, transfer/port triggering, etc.) are not all relevant because these functions have meaning only if the internet connection is connected to the internet port of the WRT. You probably want to disable the wireless in the WCG radio, if you don't want to use it.

Option 2: Transform the WCG in a modem, or disable routing all and NAT. disable the DHCP server on the WCG. Then, on the Administration - Advanced page there is the option to turn off 'Routing and NAT '. This disables the functions of routing and makes the WCG in a standard modem. So disable Routing & NAT. You will lose the connection to the WCG.

Now, you reconfigure the WRT: you open the web interface http://192.168.1.2/ enable the DHCP server (or better leave it turned on). Set the type of internet connection on automatic/DHCP. If you wish you can put the WRT default 192.168.1.1 IP address. Save the settings. Now, cable wires of the WCG in the internet port of the WRT. The WRT must now use the WCG as modem and gets his audience to the internet IP address of your ISP. You can check on the status of the WRT page. Now it should show an IP address instead of the 0.0.0.0 that you see if you connect the WRT by port 1 for the WCG. Make sure that your computers renewal DHCP IP address either by restarting or by entering "ipconfig / renew *" as an administrator in a command prompt window.

    That's all.

A note: according to the manual of the WCG will be internal IP address 192.168.100.1. If you need to make changes on the WCG once again, you must either set up a static IP address on a computer inside the 192.168.100. * with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and connect the computer directly to the WCG or you simply press the reset of the WCG for 30 seconds to reset. Then the WCG is back to 192.168.0.1 with active DHCP server, i.e. you can connect a computer directly to the WCG, it gets a valid IP address to connect to the WCG and you can make changes again.

  • can only connect to internet access using wireless or ethernet cable

I use a computer Windows Vista with Internet Explorer 8.

When I try to connect to the internet from my laptop on a Netgear router I can connect only with limited access via an ethernet cable or wireless. My computer detects and attempts to connect (with complete connection) to the netgear router, but then the prompt appears on the screen, "connection takes longer than usual." Then, it displays "connection failure.

I tried to use all the recommended solutions such as move the computer to a different location, automatically get new ip settings, etc... without success.

In the past, I could access the internet without problems and the full connection and wonder if my college internet connection may have screwed up the settings.

    2. do one of the following:

    a. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    b. If your computer has multiple operating systems, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

    3. in the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select the safe mode with networking option and press ENTER. For more information about the options, see startup options (including safe mode).

4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

For more information, you can consult the following link to start the mode safe mode with networking:
