  I will soon receive a new configuration, thought I was running it in front of you guys here.  Really it is a versatile, I don't have a job in production or anything, but like in my spare time for fun (manufacturing filmclips movies and other things).  It is not easy to find good advises on the implementation of a system specifically for first.

  So here are the details of what I think.  The PC I have at the mo, I transform a Windows Home Server.  Did anyone used one with a front networked storage?  I intend to have the OS and programs on an SSD, and I'll probably have to stick a normal HARD drive in the area as well (probably a seagate 1 TB or something), then back up to the ESM.  Any thoughts?  Also what kind of impact is the graphics card has?  I think I have a second card later to the bottom of the track and the SLI, them.

  A few notes:

  1. the Patriot DDR3-1600 memory could be faster that you need or that you will use unless you were planning to more than 3.6 GHz overclock. If you need not to overclock more than 3.6 GHz, DDR3-1333 is sufficient and probably a little cheaper. Do not forget that the 920 to standard clock uses 1066 speed.

  2. the G.Skill Falcon is a good fast SSD, but it uses the correct controller to support trim function in Win7? Trim support is absolutely essential. I don't know, but it is worth to take a closer look. This can help you: http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=3631. Also consider a 128 GB version instead of 64.

  3. definitely get at least one, but preferably two internal drives more than 7200 SATA2.

• Wrapped connections, and proxy sessions problem

  We went to Weblogic 10.3.5, and my impression is that the behavior of the wrappers of connection changed handling about proxy sessions.
  
  We use the SecurityServicesJDBC to get a connection, which is a wrapper of the OracleConnection.
  We then use the connection wrapper to log proxy with username and password to check if the given credentials are valid.
  
  Very probably since the upgrade to 10.3.5 the password is ignored. Effect is that all users are connected successfully, regardless of passwords.
  
  Workaround is to get the connection from the supplier of the package, and then open the proxy on this session.
  
  I wonder why the wrapper removes the password and it does not pass. If there is a wrapper, shouldn't the method works like the same method on the connection to the seller?

  I think you mean wls 10.3.3 worked before. SO Yes, you want a patch for a bug recently found that WLS will swallow the exception.

This can seem like a really stupid question, but could someone tell me what I should have enabled on my passport for me to receive emails, while I'm away from home settings? Should I just receive them through my provider network (Vodafone), or should I get Data Roaming active or active... for example Mobile Hotspot yesterday, I was away from home & just received an email that was sent to me 6 hours before on the Passport, once I was home, I use Yahoo Mail if that makes a difference!

  It's complicated because if you have iCloud photo library, then no matter what in iCloud will always be visible and taking place on your phone.

  The best option is to choose the option 'OPTIMIZE the PHOTOS' in the settings Photos & the phone camera.

  This will keep a smaller version of the photo on your phone with the full version on iCloud.

  If you already have the option optimize running and you are still low on space, so the only thing to do is to delete some that are sitting in iCloud. It will then take even the version optimized on the phone.

  Since last week, when I click on an icon, for example, the Page Home/Windows 7 does not come on the screen.  Instead, warning to appear at the top of the screen saying... Problem with Internet connection or Network Configuration problem.  After 5 minutes, or later, however, the screen came, but it is very slow to open web pages.

  This problem occurs most often during the night, however for the last two days, sometimes also during the day.

  Until this problem started out of blue, wireless connection with Comcast was very smooth-ride,... instantamously the homepage of popping up.

  This sounds like a problem with your Comcast service. In the United Kingdom, I would suggest that you run a speed test on your connection speed. You can get no doubt do the same wherever you are. While it could be the quality of your line, the calendar offers it's the volume of traffic from when children arrive home from school until they go to bed.

• Need help with the data storage store, local array and network connections

  Need help with my ESXi 4.1 installation

  My hardware:

  I built a server with an Asus P6T whitebox, i7 920, 12 Gig RAM, NIC, Intel Pro1000 PT Quad, 3ware 9650SE-12ML with 8 1.5 TB SATA green in a raid 6 array gives me about 8 + TB with a spare drive all housed within a NORCO RPC-4220 4U Rackmount Server chassis.  I also have a 500 GB SATA drive which will hold the ESXi and virtual machines.

  The network includes a firewall, Netgear Prosafe FVS336G, GS724Tv of Netgear ProSafe 24 port Gigabit Managed Switch on a dhcp cable modem internet service provider.

  I also have 2 old NetGear SC101T NAS disks (4to) I want to connect to the system how some - at a later date have... data on them and want to transfer to the new storage array. I always looking into the question of whether they will work with ESXi 4.1, or I might have to only access it through Windows XP.

  My Situation:

  I have already installed ESXi 4.1 and vsphere client with no problems and it is connected to a dhcp cable internet service.  I've set up host via a dynamic DNS service name give me a static hostname on the internet.  I installed three machines to virtual OS successfully at the moment and now want to first start by creating a multimedia storage server which will use some of this new 8 TB array, then separate data storage for use with a web server small overhead storage and a backup.  It is a domestic installation.

  Help with the data store and network:

  I was doing some reading, because I'm new to this, and it looks like I'll probably want to set up my table via ESXi as a nfs disk format.  Now, the data store is usually in another physical box from what I understand, but I put my readers and ESXi all in the same box.  I'm not sure that the best way to put in place with grouped network cards, but I want to make this work.

  I understand that in ESXi 4.1 using iSCSi LUN must be less than 2 TB, but nfs - I should be able to add a bigger partition then 2 TB (for my multimedia) in nfs, right? or should I still add it separately as a separate 2 TB drives and then extend them to get the biggest space.

  Any suggestions or direct resources showing examples on how to actually add some parts of the table as data warehouses separate nfs.  I know that to go to the configuration tab, and then select Add to storage, and then select nfs. I have not my picture, but it's here that I don't know what to do because ESXi 4.1 system already has an address, should I put the same thing to the new data store array also (will it work?), and what should I use for the name of the folder and the store of data... just do something to the top.  I thought to later install Openfiler (for a multimedia storage using this table server) as a virtual machine, use the table with esxi so that I can access the same storage space with widows and linux-based systems.

  I also know I have to find a way to better use my quad nic card... put in place of virtual switches, grouping, etc HELP?

  Any direction, assistance, similar facilities to sample, suggestions or resources that would help would be great. I did a lot of hunting, but still a little confused on how to best to put in place.

  You must think of VMDK files of large databases with records of random size guest go read some data (a DLL or an INI file), maybe write some data back, then go read other data. Some files are tiny, but certain DLLs are several megabytes. It's random i/o all and heavy on the search time. IO Opsys is small random operations that are often sequential (go read data, write data, go read other data,...) so that deadlines are critical to the overall performance. That's why people say OPS are / s of reference and forget the MBs flow. The only time where you bulk transfers are when you read media (ISO files).

  Well, now forget all this. Actually the disk activity will depend on the specific applications (database? mail server? machines compiler?), but the above is true for boots, and whenever applications are idle. You should see the profile to know.

  RAID 10 is faster (and often more reliable) than RAID 5 or RAID-6 except in certain specific cases. In General RAID 10 is ideal for many random writes, since the calculation of parity for RAID-5 and - 6 adds to the overall latency between command and response - latency is cumulative if a little slow here and a little slow it adds up to a lot of overall slow synchronous especially with e/s on a network. OTOH RAID-5 and -6 can produce faster readings due to the number of heads, so you can use it for virtual machines that transfer bulk. Test. You may find that you need several different types subdashboards for best results.

  You said 3ware, they have some good grades on their site, but don't believe it. With my 9650 that I found myself with only a couple of their recommendations-, I put the (simple) table for allocation size 256 k, nr_requests at 2 x the queue_depth and use the planner date limit. I had the habit for the Ext4 file system formatted with stride and stripe-width synced to the table and used the options large_files with fewer inodes (do not use the huge_files option unless you plan to have single VMDK files in the terabyte range). Use a cache of great reading in advance.

  Virtual machines use VMDK files in all cases except raw iSCSI LUN that they treat native disks. VMDK is easier to manage - you can make a backup by copying the file, you can move it to a PC and load it into another flavour of VMware, etc. There could be some features iSCSI to your San as a transparent migration but nothing for me. NFS has less chatter of Protocol if latency lower times to complete an operation. NFS is good to read and write a block of data, that's all it boils down to.

  UPS is good, but it won't help if something inside the machine explodes (UPS does nothing if the PC power supply goes down). If the RAID card has an option for a battery backup module, so it can contain some writings in memory and may end up the disk i/o after replacing the power supply. 3ware also limits the types of caching available if help is not installed, and you get just the right numbers with the module.

• Photon: Dropped calls and network connectivity problems

  I bought my Photon August 18 and he was not long for me first to the problems with network connectivity.

  Please, someone, Motorola, reassure me that this isn't a lemon and that network problems are going to be fixed. I CAN wait, but I don't want to get stuck with two phones for $200 that need to be pampered just to be usable.

  Yes, it turns out that be was a buggy phone. Two stores tested Sprint phone for reception of the signal and they said that it spent; but as said the technician in the second store, the tests they take place the phone in ideal conditions.

  The two stores I've visited, said they were ready to replace the phone, but my first visit came just before the MR5 update software while I was willing to wait to see if the update corrects the problem. It didn't, but the replacement of the second store phone works fine with upgrading to MR5 and really no problem.

  I'll go ahead and mark this question as a response, but if you experience the same problems of chance complete loss of all network connectivity (Sprint or otherwise), I recommend getting the phone replaced. It is a bad camera.

  Oh and the technician at the second store mentioned the network problems. It has been a problem for them, but the most telling proof of the issue of network is random dropped calls. So if from time to time, you lose a call under the conditions of good network signal, it's probably not your phone and Sprint. I have almost that many abandoned calls as of late, so it could have been the wrong phone I had that really amplified the problem... or... Sprint has got some of the bugs in our region.

  Found a solution! Laughing out loud! How delayed. I changed my email in bb code. For example, after changing from one gmail to another account, I changed it back and baaammmm! Problem solved, but do not know why it should be a problem in the first place right?

  I have a well taken in charge iPod classic 160GB. Worked perfectly until...

  Since the upgrade to the latest OS (iMac), I've been prone to random error when updating of my music. Essentially (1) the device is still connected and there is no apparent way to perform a good ejection process (2) and synchronization fails after many hours and don't care only about 100 songs.

  Thus, it seems that the iPod is ok mechanically. I have reset the device and formatted the HARD drive. This allowed then the synchronization process works correctly. Yesterday I downloaded the songs on the iTunes store and wanted on the iPod - same problems error has occurred.

  Would it not make sense to go back to an earlier version of the operating system? and iTunes? (same iTunes appears unstable now...)

  I see that this timing issue is quite common with this unit holders and it seems to be common, because support was arrested for this camera - I'd be cynical? Why isn't Apple in the face of what it comes to very bad reputation management - total contempt for Affairs of its user base?

  I always use what is apparently a good piece of hardware, but I'm extremely frustrated as a user. Any body found the corrective action? If so, what is it?

  LAST: I left Apple and bought a Sony HD camera. Why? as a result of these frustrations. I'm now evaluate whether to consider other Apple devices that are close to replacement (viz, Ipad, MacBook Pro (17 "), iMAc) with non-Apple devices. This is how frustrated and I'm in a bad mood.

  Problems with synchronization is often caused by a hard drive which becomes unreliable.  Hard drives are mechanical and ends by fail, computers and iPods.  I have much older iPods (4th gen, 3rd generation and iPod mini) that are more than 10 years at this point.  They still work perfectly fine with the latest version of OS X and iTunes.  I replaced the fragile hard drives in three of these iPods with Compact Flash card or an SD card on an adapter.  For the 5th generation and later iPods, you can look here for more information

  I see that this synchronization problem is quite common with this unit-holders...

  It's not just 'common good' considering there are millions of iPods (with storage on hard disk) still serving there.  However, if you see more cases of these days, the reason is obvious.  They age, on average.  The iPod classic model was released back in 2007.  Old things tend to start fault for various reasons, including defective hard drive.

• Re-installed Windows XP and now I can't see the network connections and cannot get online.
