WRT610N V1 problem

My WRT61oN worked fine for months.  My laptop Windows 7 with 802.11b/g/n Sunddenly could no longer connect 2.4 ghz radio.  He can see the spirit of route a signal very strong, but cannot acquire an address.  My XP laptop could connect for a day using the 5 GHz radio, and then he also failed to acquire.  He can see 2.4 and 5 Ghz radio, but same problem.  Any thoughts?

Try re-flashing the firmware on the router. You can download the firmware from www.linksys.com/downloads.After re-flashing the firmware, reset the router for 30 seconds, power cycle the router and re - configure the router from scratch.

  • Nook Color ereader & connectivity problems with router WRT610N

I recently bought a new Nook color ereader for my wife. As long as a network administrator, I thought that this would be an easy task to configure the ereader to connect with my Linksys WRT610N router on the 2.4 Ghz band. But I'm running problems when connecting. The question seems to have intermittent connection problems where the meals seem to see the wireless network, authenicates, tries to get an IP address, then connects for a short period or removes the signal very quickly while being right on top of the router with the device.

By the recommendations of various forums of Nook, I had the best luck with the following...

    2.4 Ghz band settings

    SSID: NookNetwork

    Channel width: 20 GHZ

    Standard channel: 9

    SSID Broadcast: enabled

    Security mode: WPA2 Personal

    Encryption: AES

    Passphrase: set out

    Key renewal: 3600

    UPNP: disabled

    RTS: default

    Defragmentation: default

    Tag: default

However, the problem still resides in an intermittent connection to the wireless network. I also tried various arrangements of the channel to both channels 1, 6 and 11 with my best cponnecting chance to channel 9. I also played with the security and disabled all together and have plugged but always file (will not however run the unsecured network). Also try a tag value of 75, a framework of fragmentation of 2306 and 2307 RTS setting. My computer laptop while run and connect properly.

I use the latest software updated both on the color of the corner. I am at the end and have searched high and low to get suggestions, and have not yet reached a compatible connection. Please help... Thank you! And my wife thank you in advance! Smiles!

  • WRT610N problem with Archos 5 UPnP

I have a WRT610N V2 router with the latest firmware available from Linksys. When the Archos tries to access my media server, the Archos device restarts. I tried my wag160n existing as a point of access to information and the archos works very well. I also tested the Archos on a different network and it works very well.

Everyone knows about this problem with the WRT610N? I have eliminated all other components on my network and the router seems to be the cause of the problem.

Try to change the Mode of network in BG only on the router and then also check by disabling UPnP on the router... Check out this link for Archos.

  • Problems with WRT610N v2 + WAG54GS v1.0 of port forwarding

    Background:

I have a WAG54GS v1.0 (Appendix A) that I use to manage my home network and my ADSL connection. I bought a WRT610N v2 (which I will refer to as the router) with the intention that he would replace the functions of networking of the WAG54GS (which I will call the modem), who could be relegated to handling just the Internet connection. Both are running their latest firmware.

I got this configuration to work, but with a problem: I lost a lot of flexibility with regard to port forwarding. The problem is the only way I managed to get the Internet to work with the 192.168.0.1 router and the modem to 192.168.1.1. If I try and that you have both 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x then connect to Internet no longer works under any configuration options, I've tried.

What wants to say that when I go to port forwarding of installation in the modem, I can only forward to clients on 192.168.1.x, but the router can only transmit to 192.168.0.x. The only things that I can go to work are situations where triggering serial port can be applied, so that when a connection is made to the relevant port to an external IP address, and then this external IP address to communicate on this port. As you can guess this covers almost all cases.

    Question:

Would it not be possible to have the router and the modem on 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x, allowing port translation work as expected. Which should in principle be possible with the modem bridge mode except that it is impossible to configure the PPPoA settings needed to connect to my ISP.

Or I'll have to rethink the configuration of the network (i.e. buy a dedicated ADSL modem and remove entirely my WAG54GS?)

In fact in the end what I figured out was that according to my WRT610N concerned my WAG54GS is my ISP and that was all he needed to know on the Internet connection. So I had to connect to the WAG54GS with an IP address static, stuck that IP in the DMZ of the WAG54GS and left the WRT610N to manage port forwarding like all devices that connect will make it through that. (Yes, I've disabled features wireless of the WAG54GS)

I'm reasonably sure that I tried the combination of settings you suggested (including moving the WAG54GS off the Internet port on the WRT610N, which I wanted to avoid in any case as I have four devices permanently connected in any case) and found that it still does not. And I wasn't saying two to 192.168.1.1 set at any point, my darkened auto focus was that change only the last block of the IP address doesn't have to work for Internet access.

  • WRT610N connection and network storage problems

First of all, on my network, I have a wired under Vista Ultimate PC, a portable wireless g running XP Pro, a Wired VoIP PABT box, an iPhone, a g wireless Mediagate MG350HD media Extender connected to the TV in the living room (about 10 meters through the 3 wooden walls) and I have a drive hard usb connected to the WRT610N router.

I spent only on tape 2.4 on the router - 5.0 band request the customer to have N Wireless anyway, since I have no devices N Wireless is no use right now?

I use it to manage my network Network Magic.

Problem #1.   My Mediagate MG350HD guard abandon it's connection to the network. I tried to use DHCP and static ip address for this but it falls again. The only solution I've found is to remove the Mediagate masked-out of the network adapter in the Network Magic, restart the router, click on "search new devices" in Network Magic and MOST of the time it will redetect and reconnect the Mediagate. Any ideas?

Problem #2. Try to configure the network (my hardrive USB) storage device is a pain in the anus.

In the storage routers tab I can't give a sense creating folder. All I want to do is to share specific folders and all their content on the network. Whenever I go to assign access rights and click on groups most in the access column and hit 'save' it puts back in the denied access column. This has something to with the permissions on my PC? When I go to network and sharing Center it now displays "Network Storage", when I click in 3 folders in network appear, when I try to set permissions on these folders, I hit apply and the boxes I just checked white-out again. The folder marked "Network Hard Drive" (the one I put in place using the storage tab in the router) does not show subfolders and the real movies stored on them.

When I try to change the permissions on the using my PC, different folders, for example, movies, TV etc... I get the same cutting out of the tickboxes on 'apply '.

Is there a step by step graphic instruction that I can follow other than the PDF file that came on the disc with the router. It was not very useful.

As you try to share a storage network on your computer, its nothing to do with your Permission to computers. You must set the appropriate permissions on your router for this specific folder and set the read/write permissions, you will be able to access the storage on your computer and make the appropriate changes in it.

Once you open a session to your Linksys router configuration page, click on the storage tab, then click on create share and you can select the folder you want to share on the network and give them read/write permissions.

Once you're done, you can MAP the network drive on your computerand when you are prompted for the username and password you can try the username and the password that you set on your router on the storage tab. Once done after that, you will be able to make the changes.

  • WRT610n & Apple TV problems

    Hello

Since I upgraded my WRT610n router to the latest firmware 1.00.03 B15 I'm unable to see the apple tv as a device in iTunes on any computer connected to the network (wired or wireless). I have apple TV on a multimedia network dedicated (only in the N band) and computers are on the G-banding and ethernet. If I put apple tv over the network with computers, I can see it on the devices connected to the same wireless network, but NOT on the ethernet network. I have concluded that the last firrmware broke the bounjour service, which is an implementation of multicast.  I have a ticket open with support on the issue. I requested a copy of the previous firmware (B10) support and they could not provide me with a copy.

Someone at - it a copy of the firmware back they could give me a URL or email it to me? I'd appreciate any help as apple tv without iTunes is essentially worthless. Thank you!

Someone posted a link to the firmware B10, I downloaded and applied to my router. Everything works fine again. Clearly a problem with the B15 firmware and based on the message of messages I'm not the only one having problems with it!

  • WRT610N home network problems

Hello, my network is not working properly at home.  Computers communicate with each other and I can't save on my NAS.  I think that there is a problem with administrators and/or the useres, but I have no idea.  This is the upward.  I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

(Wireless) LAPTOP running XP SP3.  DESKTOP computer running Windows 2000.  Western Digital MY BOOK (1 TB, call the BIG HD) connected to the WRT610N for NAS.  Western Digital MY BOOK (500 GB, call LITTLE HD) connected directly to the DESKTOP and shared with EVERYONE.  Computers and the router are assigned to the 'HOME' network  All IP addresses are static.  All firewalls have other computers IP Allow or FULL TRUST.  Before adding the WRT610N computers are networked and two external drives we connected to the DEKSTOP and everything worked great using a wrt54g.  The two external HDs were shared and I could read/write in everything on a hard drive of computers.   I could save the laptop via Norton 360 on each disc. Only problem was the speed and I wanted the SIN for the DLNA media service. Since then, I installed the WRT610N and connected to it the BIG HD for the uses mentioned previously.  There are a couple of different issues going on that I can't understand.

First of all, DESKTOP does not see other computers in the HOME network.  It is always assigned to the HOME network.  Trying to view other computers in the HOME network, that the DESKTOP appears.

Laptop will show the WRT610N and the OFFICE of the HOME network.  Laptop will be connect/read/write to the BIG HD on the WRT610N. Laptop has no permission to access OFFICE. So I can't go to the SMALL HD on the DESKTOP via laptop.

This is where it gets really strange.  When you back up PORTABLE HD GRAND via Norton 360, the backup fails after 832 files.  After the backup fails, laptop no longer has permision to access the BIG HD.  Laptop can no longer open WRT610N of icon in the HOME network either.  Does not have permission.  Also, if I try to click the icon for the WRT610N on the HOME network or the icon for the mapped HD BIG in my computer, the wireless signal is de-energized and resets the WRT610.  Laptop gets all rights, and permisions on WRT610N back after restarting the laptop.

Before attempting the back upward, I made the BIG HD available via FTP and www.dyndns.com.  It worked, I could remotely to the BIG HD from other computers via internet.  Then after that the BACKUP failed, I got an email from dyndns.com saying that my host name has been blocked.  Dyndns.com, three reasons for blocking are ' updates to your client on an interval (e.g. hourly), your client is defective (e.g. flooding), you run several clients. "  I don't know why mine failed, but he did about the same time, I ran back upward.  I know that I don't have muliple customers.  It is the only host name or service or what I use with dyndns.com.  I sent without changing anything on the WRT610N, dyndns.com, asked to be unblocked, and they unlocked my hostname. Have not been blocked since then, but I have not tried a return to the top since I unlocked yesterday.

It's the last symptom.  In my HD GRAND, all users and "S-1-5-21-789336058-329068152-725345543-5703" are listed as users.  I understand that the long alphanumeric user can be the WRT610N.  I didn't create it and I can't remove it.  I don't know if this user is on the SMALL HD.

So, how can I get the DESKTOP on the HOME network?  How can I get the LAPTOP and the DESKTOP sharing?  How can I get the LAPTOP to save BIG HD without dropping out and having to restart the laptop (can't get a full backup now)?  This is a problem of 'property' on which device has the HOME network.  I know initially (WRT54G days) I have everything set up by the OFFICE.  It now appears that the property could be made through the WRT610N.  EVERYONE is allowed on each disc shared in the HOME network.  All drives and shared folders have different names.  All the problems occur with all security and firewalls as well off.  I already flashed the firmware and power cycled the WRT610N about 30 times over the 3 months because of the attempts to connect the two HDs at the same time.  The WRT610N seems to be stable except to drop the connection after 832 files during back upward.

    Can someone help me please?

As you mentioned that all computers are in the same workgroup. Thing you need to check, on your desktop, open the window prompt commands and ping your IP of your laptop and check if you get all the answers, if you are getting answered, on your desktop, click Start - RUN - "\\Laptop IP" and click OK... and it will show you the folder list or the drivers that you have shared on your laptop , Just right-click on it and select 'Map network drive' and below check "Reconnect to the connection" and click Finish. It will be the card your laptop computer drivers shared on your desktop and you should be able to transfer the files from your desktop to the laptop.

When you ping your laptop from your desktop computer are we can't get an answer, then you can try to disable the firewall and Antivirus on your computer.

Your router has changed the MTU size to 1300 and click on save settings... That does not solve the problem even if you transfer files from your desktop / laptop computer on the NAS.

  • Connection of the PS3 - WRT610N - NAT Fail problems

    Hi all

Since I bought the PS3 in December, I was running that it connected to my Linksys WRT610N router.  The day that I have configured it first, it all detected automatically and off I went to play.  A few times, I've moved to the bedroom and played wireless.  In addition to entering the router WPA key, it does everything automatically.

Today, the dang thing connects to the PS network.  I spent the last few hours troubleshooting 8.  I will list every little thing I did, but I have to ask myself why I never had to redirect the front ports, or anything else.

I came to the conclusion that it is my router which is the main problem, because when I plug directly into the cable Modem, I have no problem.  Ironically, all my other devices operate on the router - phones, laptops, desktops, wireless TV and Wii.

When I try the connection test, I get:

    -Obtain IP address succeeded

    -Internet connection successful

    -PlaystationNetwork failed

I am able to surf the internet with the browser on the PS3 at this point, but no PSN.

When I look at the connections and status, I get:

    -Internet connection enabled

    -Wired connection method

    -Speed and detection automatic duplex

    -Address manual settings

    Address - IP 192.168.1.20

    -Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

    -Default router 192.168.1.1

    -Primary DNS 4.2.2.2

    -Secondary DNS 192.168.1.1

-MAC address XX (no need to share this!)

    -MTU                           1365

    -Proxy server do not use

    -Available UPnP

    NAT - Type failed

    "Error code 80710092.

I tried practically all the ideas of 7 hours of internet research has to offer on the following topics: "Unable to connect to PSN" and "failure of NAT:

      1. -My PS3 has given a static IP address
      2. -Pedaled through different DNS numbers
      3. -Changed the MTU size
      4. -UPnP turned on and outside
      5. -NAT disabled
      6. -Someone said all ports are required
      7. -Enabled DMZ for the PS3 static IP
      8. -Off any other device trying to use wireless
      9. -Router firmware update
      10. -Restored by default on the router
      11. -Off "Filter anonymous Internet requests" (against my better judgment)
      12. N ' matter what firewall disabled (against my better judgment)

There are only two things that I considered that I read by train:

    -Restoration of my default PS3

It does not appear that this would be the issue but because it connects to the NHP when it is connected directly to the cable Modem.

    -To reset my router VRAM

    Looks like a longshot.

Can anyone help me please with other ideas?  It's driving me crazy!

Thank you very much in advance.

I tried all the suggestions without result.  Now the problem is solved well.

Solution?  The intensity of my internet cable signal was too weak for the router to divide anything.  That's what the tech explained to me in any case.  I was at-22dBmV and minimum of society is - 10 at the end of the cable (computer, PS3).  The technology fixed a bunch of bad junctions in the House and then realized that I was at-10 in front of my computer now.  He said that a line technician would be fate soon to take a look at the line coming because it is especially where the weakness is.

As soon as he left, I turned on my PS3.  I got a connection NAT2.  Playstation Network still not, but it of because Sony sucks and has been offline for a while.  I'm sure that it will work as he recognixes the network is stopped and got a NAT2.

Thank you all for the suggestions.  The moral of the story: do not exclude anything when troubleshooting.  I was sure to have been the router and waited several days before calling the service provider.

If you're curious of your modem stats, most have an IP address to dial.

  • WRT610N (hard drive problem)

I want to install an IOMEGA HD to my new WRT610N. When I use the LELA Setup it asks to connect the device via an Ethernet cable. Therefore, it does not recognize the IOMEGA.

I'm trying to conect via a USB cable. Can someone tell me if this is possible and how to do it. ???

    Thank you. Ray

I'm assuming that the WRT610N has already been implemented? I do not recommend jumping the LELA software altogether and establishment of external storage manually.  What is the current version of the firmware on the router?

The guide will explain how to access the web gui and the manual process to set up the external hard drive.

    Hello

I just installed my new router WRT610N followed the installation step by step very basic (without Lela). My PC and my Wii see the router, but I can't access the internet. I power cycle the router and redo the configuration but nothing happened even after a reboot. I connected back my old SMS-wire cable and I don't have access to the internet. Is there a way to reset the default configuration of the router? Or if one of you have a better idea.

  • Problems of storage USb Wireless WRT610N

I found a solution, but not as you have advised.

It became clear that external hard drives with installed on them to backup utilities do not work with your router - something you don't have to stress not only when I bought it, but in all the documents that I read.

Re-formatting my hard drive in FAT32, thus eliminating the backup software has solved my problem. Even if you specify the System NTFS is supported it seemed FAT32 is the most reasonable route for compatibility. Disk utility tools can enable users to create FAT32 partitions more than 32 GB, but people should be aware that you cannot store files larger than 4 GB on FAT32 (for example a blu - ray movie).

I hope you guys at Linksys take the right steps and expose very clearly to future customers as your USB storage solution does not work with readers who have backup software and save this software you must remove everything first. I think it would be a good idea just to generally include in your documentation that this is the best people use a car clean and empty.

Thank you. Also, I hope that someone else who has this problem will be able to find it.

  • WRT610N and twonky media server PROBLEM

Hi, I finally had some time to install my network wireless at home, everything works well except the media server, im trying to connect an xbox 360 and ps3, they see in the media server and I can access the problem is that the only file that they see is "trial expired, please visit http://twonkyvision.com.

I already tried to go and found a topic on it (link ) and it helped me to access the media server settings, I tried the solution posted, but it didn't work; I looked in the options and found that over my registration key number is bright red the following words: "this key is already used by another instance of the server." and here it is a counter with 0 days for the trial.

Anyone know how I could solve this problem or what it exactly means and how to solve this problem, my router is new, but it has been sitting on my desk almost three months because I don't have the time to install it.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

OK, I have a major update and a possible solution, I was buggin the twonky people until they gave a new key number who worked and solved my problem, on the other hand, they have told me that, with the next firmware, updated the router doesn't ask for the key more could operate freely, so you can either go to the twonky´s customer service or wait for the next update. good luck to all

  • Link for storage WRT610N problem

I have 3 computers connected to my router 610N.  I have version 1.0 of the equipment with the latest firmware.  All 3 computers worked very well, and then we moved into a new House.  New home, only 2 of the 3 can now see the external hard drive connected to the USB port on the router.  The 3rd can connect wirelessly, but it will not see the hard drive.  It won't even find http://wrt610n.com if I enter this URL in Internet Explorer.  It's as if he can't see anything on the router, but if I enter http://192.168.1.1 I can get to the configuration on the router screens.  Any thoughts on what might happen.  The computer is a laptop Toshiba Windows 7 32 bit.

    Thank you

    Dale

To map the network drive on your computer, on your computer, click on start - run - type "\\192.168.1.1" and press on enter and when you are prompted for the user name and password, enter "admin" and click ok, now, you will be able to see the network disk, right-click on it and select "Map network drive" and check the box "reconnect to the opening" and click Finish.

It maps the drive on your computer and now you should be able to view or make changes to your USB.
