Xbox 360 wired controller cannot find drivers

I recently built a new computer that runs on windows 7 and want to use my xbox 360 wired controller to play a game on it. But every time I plug my controller that my computer is unable to find its drivers. I tried troubleshooting, plug the controller into different ports and update the drivers manually, but none of it works. I was able to use my controller on my old computer but am confused as to why I can't use it on this one.

  • Cannot install drivers for xbox 360 wired controller.

Original title: How can I install my controller wired correctly?

I'm trying to install the drivers for my xbox 360 wired controller, that I bought from Gamestop on my Toshiba Qosmio x-870 running windows 7 64 bit. When I plug the controller into the usb port, the drivers are automatically downloaded, but for some reason any cannot be installed. I tried the driver downloaded from the Microsoft Web site software. I also tried to uninstall the controller and try again. Any advice?

Try the controller on another computer and see if it works, or take the controller back and exchange it for another.

I have one on my computer and installed Windows 7 drivers automatically when I plugged the controller works fine.

  • Xbox 360 wired controller for PC

    Hello

4 months ago, I bought an Xbox 360 wired controller for PC, I use it since a few games, but especially of the Fifa and recently, when I connect to 15 of Fifa, it detects 2 controllers instead of one and the controls were reversed as, as 2 controllers 1 controller-controlled and I can't fix it ,

I already reinstalled the drivers, put it in the other USB Ports and I started to wonder if it's because of my windows, perhaps as an error that detects how, I would be very grateful if anyone knows a solution for this problem

  • Windows compatible xbox 360 wired controller

Purchased windows compatible xbox 360 wired controller this seller assured me would work under Vista. But apparently not.
I downloaded the latest driver suitable for the material and installed according to the instructions (with controller unplugged) but still no joy.  I have Vista Home Premium.  The controller is recognized and responds in the calibration utility, but doesn't seem to work for the games. Is it compatible for Vista and Modern Warefare 2?  Are only some supported games? If I lost my time & or silver?

Only some games support a controller.  Most of the games, including pulling just support a mouse - frankly because it's much better to use a tiny stick.

If his work all in calibration tools then the controller is working properly, unless the cod has an option somewhere to allow a controller then it probably does not support one.  His place to decide what methods of control that they want to support the game developers. • Xbox 360 wired controller not recognized by my PC.

I'm having a problem with my Wired xbox 360 controller (it's a fightpad street fighter 4 if it makes a difference). Since I upgraded from windows vista to windows 7 the controller worked normally, but after I did a Microsoft Update, its not to recognize the controller, and it gives me an error code 43. I tried to download accessory software for the controller, but it is not helping the problem at all, AFAIK. Any comments would be much appreciated thanks.

    Hi Persianguy,

It doesn, t even make his acknowledgement that the controller got plugged. But the usb port recognizes the other thing I plug into it.

  • XBOX 360 wired controller not working not with my Xbox but works on another Xbox

Problems with my xbox wired controller.  When I plug it into a usb port it flashes once quickly and turns off.  I tried to use it with other boxes of xbox 360 and it works very well.  I did all the troubleshooting steps and the wireless remote we have works very well.  We sent the box to Microsoft 2 times already because of the same issue.  both times he worked for a short period, then stopped working both times.  I don't want to send it back again so please Help!

    Hi Brian,.

If the controller is working on other computers, then it's a problem with the USB port to which you connect the Xbox to.

Well want to try plugging it into a different port and check.

  • Xbox 360 wired controller works only with Windows 8. Xbox 360 Assecories status when I click on it says I have it has been changed or moved, and will not work.

I have a controller wired xbox 360, not one of these pieces of plug. I put the USB controller and installed the device. However, it does not work. Xbox 360 Assecories status when I click on it says I have it has been changed or moved, and will not work. I have not touched. When I search for a download for Windows 8 all get them are downloads for Windows 7 and below. It's a bit frustrating to not be able to use it. I would be very happy to help.

Original title: windows 8 wired 360 controller

I found the problem. I had the appropriate controller and installed the device correctly. This is the program that runs the unit that had either corrupt or missing files. I uninstalled the program and then installed from the Microsoft Download page. Now he works currently. Thanks for the support.

I'm trying to connect an official Xbox 360 controller to my PC to allow me to play the PC game with her.  I am currently running OS is Windows 7 64 bit

When I plug in the controller using the Play and Charge kit, it saves the controller is in the Panel of control/material and software/devices and printers under non-specific, but not in the status of Microsoft 360 Assessories or section of the control panel game controllers.

I used to run my 360 controller via usb ports on the side of my keyboard and it worked very well. Friend has unplugged the controller and when I tried to reconnect, nothing worked.
