Xc0000225 Boot\BCD error 0 after factory restore

So I recently did a restore of the configuration system once the OS has been fairly well watered on the PC of my mother.  I don't know what someone did to her the last time that they 'fixed', but kept getting tons of errors and do not load the system under profiles admin processes.

The FIRST restory facotry was 'OK' he reinstalled the operating system, but unfortunately, a lot of mistakes that were there before, were still there this time... I thought it was weird... So I did another restore to factory image...

That's when things went downhill even faster. Now, he is yet to start windows and I get errors xc0000225 Boot\BCD 0 right on turn on the machine after loading the BIOS...

I started in the recovery partition and pulled the top quite prompt a chkdsk, which returned well... google the error and the attempt bootrec /rebuildbcd - he found the BONES, I have a key and press ENTER, restarted with fingers crossed and got the same error...  Tried to do /scanos bootrec after that, just to see if it took, and it did not find the OS...

I googled some more and he was leading define me active partitions and all that... which makes me nervous in doing this... By looking at the partitions, the two were leaving them C: & D: are defined as 'primary', which I think might be a problem? But not sure... and fear to disconnected D: partition as primary, in the case where I need to start again in the recovery disk...

I made another return to settings repair factory (maybe I should stop doing those?) ... and it is me giving the erorr and bootrec /scanos find the installtion windows on the C: drive. do you have an other /rebuildbcd and rebooted... even the boot errors... have you an other /scanos after that... once again not stated no identified windows installation.

If the thoughts? Should I do another restore, then work with partitions?

Hello

You can create the Windows 7 installation disc (or install a USB Flash drive if your laptop supports booting from USB) yourself using another PC.  Download the Image file from the link below and save it in your downloads folder - the Windows 7 image source is Digital River).

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

To create an installation disc, use an application like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

Or you can use an application such as Rufus to create an installer USB bootable Windows 7 - minimum size for the flash player flash drive is 4 GB.

When creating, tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the disc to install Windows 7 (or USB stick).  Select the menu of Boot Options ( f9 ).  Use the arrow keys to select the optical drive (or USB key) and press ENTER.

During installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the label of the COA in the request and one time installation is complete, use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want just a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally delivered with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are in entering either the complete model number or product of your laptop no here.

    Hello

Unfortunately it would look as the volume is indeed corrupt, which coupled with the error of the DST, would tend to confirm that the drive has indeed failed.

Now my best suggestion would be to contact HP immediately and get the HARD drive replaced under warranty - make sure you always have a set of recovery discs/media to reinstall the operating system on the new drive, if you have not, you should be able to order it at the same time.

    Dell Inspiron B130

    Windows XP Service Pack 2

Recently performed a HD format and new installation of XP SP2. After I installed all the drivers and others, I checked that the system was operating normally. After a few days of use, Windows Update downloaded Service Pack 3 and asked me to install. I started to install SP3, but at about 50%, the laptop battery is dead at Midway through the installation. I plugged the laptop on the power source and power. I restarted the laptop and XP started only a completely black screen and the white slider. No ALT + CTRL + DEL, desktop icons, etc.

I rebooted the laptop of ERD Commander, ran the restore system and selected the first available Restore Point. Point of restoration chosen was recorded a few days before, and was the first recorded point after the clean installed XP. I rebooted the XP system. Wallpaper loaded with white cursor, but NO start menu or desktop icon. A message appears saying "Explorer.EXE Application error, press OK to exit the application" or something very similar. Did not write the error code, but can get if necessary. If I press the OK button (which is my only option), there is still no icons on the desktop or the start menu. Only the cursor.
