XML Core Services offering guard KB954430 KB973688 and Windows 7 KB977165, KB981852 updates

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 comes with XP, but I've since updated (6 months or more) to Windows 7 Professional... don't know what security pack I

32 bit

Microsoft Security Essentials is my anti-virus

I do not have Internet Explorer installed, but using Firefox

Before installing Windows 7, I have improved my physical memory to 2 GB.

I actually solved the error Windows Update on my own, after noticing other facilities did not (Office 2010, manual Windows updates, etc.), I made the error 0x800736FD research and found this forum which includes the solution bywholawho :

http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7programs/thread/f4dd5033-9bcb-4788-B100-5e98bd80f6bf

And following the instructions in this video:

http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=7BQwnmK88Oo

This completely solved my problem of Windows Update (I got 37 'hidden' extra updates waiting to be installed) and my other problems installing program.

  • Error 80004005 code update to Vista (KB972036) and Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB973688) 643 error code.

    The first update (KB972036):

During the restart process, after the message "do not turn off your computer", the following message (Please note that I use the Slovak version of Windows Vista, so I tried to translate the message to my knowledge):

"Update has not been configured correctly, cancelling the changes.

I tried to install it manually, I downloaded "Windows6. 0-KB972036-v2-x 86.msu", but the result is exactly the same.

    ------------------------------------------------------

    The other (KB973688) update:

When installing it via windows update, there seems to be no problem, but it is not settled.

    So I checked c:\windows\system32\msxml4.dll and he says it's MS XML 4.0 SP2, version 4.20.9876.0

I tried to install it manually as well, I downloaded "msxml4-KB973688 - enu.exe", but when I try to install, it comes up with the error message (screenshot below).

    Here's what I'm running:

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium SP2 32-bit

I'm just having trouble installing these two updates, everything else is pretty much installs ok, but whenever I update via windows update, I have to leave out both for the aforementioned reasons.

I created my updates so that the system warns me of new updates are available, but I decide to download them and install them.

I tried to change this setting to a State, where Windows automatically downloads and installs the updates by itself, but there was no difference and these two updates are always a pain in my virtual neck.

    Help, please! Thank you

  • A security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for systems x 64 (KB954430) is not installed!

A security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x 64-based systems (KB954430) is not installed. Windows Update fails to install this update and error reports: 64 C code. The off button displays an alert and when you place the mouse over it it shows "installs the updates and then shuts your computer." When I press it it says is to install the update and my computer shuts down and when I restart it it shows it is update and configuration of the update but when loading Windows Vista, in windows update, it shows that updated security for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for systems x 64 (KB954430) becomes available again. I tried to manually install the update by downloading, but when trying to install windows install indicates: "the feature you are trying to use is on a network that is not available. Click OK to try again or enter a different path to the folder containing the installation package ' msxml.msi in the box below. »

MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430) and MSXML 4.0 SP2 appear in Control Panel programs and features. When I click on them the only option is 'an install. When I try to UN install these the same message appears when you try to install this update manually: "the feature you are trying to use is on a network that is not available. Click OK to try again or enter a different path to the folder containing the installation package ' msxml.msi in the box below. »

To try to solve this problem, I emptied historical Windows Update. I tried Windows Installer Cleanup to remove MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430) and MSXML 4.0 SP2 so I can reinstall it but Windows Installer Cleanup crashes and displays a command prompt with a lot of text.

If Windows Update has found that you don't need, you don't have to worry about this. They probably have fixed an error in the update system.

  • A security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB954430) do not install it?

    Hello

I was on this site throughout the morning looking for a solution to this issue.  I have a laptop running windows, op system 7 (do not know if it is 32 or 64 bit).  It came with software anti-virus free trial pre-installed on it (Norton).  This morning, I noticed that the update history showed a lot of failed attempts to install this update.  I clicked for more details on this topic, and this is the error message I get, "" WindowsUpdate_0000064C""WindowsUpdate_dt000".  Looks like a lot of people have problems with this.

I tried the fixes of a message on this forum (see below):

I tried to use the MS TOOL of DIFFICULTY, which has not helped in the installation of the update successfully

I then downloaded KB954430 and saved on my hard drive and run it in safe mode, only to have and the following error message will appear, "ERROR OPENING INSTALLATION LOGFILE VERIFY THE SPECIFIC LOG FILE LOCATION EXISTS AND IS writable."

    What I am doing wrong?

This error occurs with a particular update?
