XP and Virtual PC 2007 - how to share a network printer with an instance of Virtual PC?

My laptop 'sharing' a printer attached to my desktop via USB. Now, I have installed virtual pc 2007 on my laptop. How can I share this printer in virtual pc? I don't see the host in the entrance of working group of the virtual computer or in my network places. I use NAT shared on the virtual machine and can access the internet. I activated impression share on the printer from my computer (which came from another machine -), computer desktop host disabled the firewall on the host etc. etc.

Hello

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the public on the TechNet site. Please post your question in the below link: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsxpitpro

  • How to reconfigure wireless network extended with several base stations

I have a wifi network in an Airport Extreme wired to the modem from our Internet service provider and an Airport Express Terminal extended wireless in another part of the House. I recently added a second Airport Extreme (also extended wireless) to boost coverage in another area of the House. I want to have the Express and the extreme second each wireless connection directly to the base station to the modem to have the shortest path to the main base station, but the Airport utility network diagram seems to keep showing the network of linearly (main Extreme base - second extreme - Express). So, two questions: first, represents the schema of utility Airport the signal path real (linear Express by Extreme II, then to Extreme II/modem)?  And secondly, if so, how to reconfigure the network to have both Express and Extreme II forking the extreme base I directly, rather than having the food by Extreme II, then Extreme I Express. The network showed that the desired branched network yesterday, but today went back into the linear trajectory. I tried a simple drag and drop graphic to move the Express, thinking that surely the Apple would implement such a simple, logical and direct way to manage the network, but no. Have not seen another way to configure the network manually, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

It is very important to understand that Apple "extend a wireless network" works on signal strength.

In order to have the AirPort Express and AirPort Extreme to extend the network of the 'main' extreme wireless, two conditions must be fulfilled:

    (1) the AirPort Express and AirPort Extreme extension should both be on the same relative distance of the extreme 'main '.

    (2) AirPort Express and AirPort Extreme extension must both be closer to the extreme 'main' they are to each other.

In other words, a well put together would have your "main" AirPort Extreme in the middle of the House, with a Terminal AirPort Express on one end of the House and the AirPort Extreme to the other end of the House.  In this configuration, the two airports are about the same distance from the extreme 'main'... and... "" oth extending airports are located more close to the "main" airport that they are with each other.

  • How to add a network printer?

How can I add a network printer?

The printer has a wired connection to a router.  Its local IP address is 192.168.1.105.  The name of the printer is NPI64867B.

My laptop has a wireless connection to the same router.  Of course, access to the network works fine, since I can submit this announcement.  Also, I can ping the IP address of the printer from the laptop.

I have in the control panel printers, click Add printer, select "A network printer", select "Browse for printer", then click Next.  The following text is displayed:

Note that NPI64867B does not appear in the list "shared printers.  Does?

If I manually enter NPI64867B in the box of the printer and click Next (which should work?), I get the following error:

If it's important, I have another printer in network configured on the computer.  It's for another domestic network, so it is not connected now.  The name of the printer is NPI6AAA13.  I deselected the option 'Always print to this device, even if its IP address changes', nothing helps.

The port of the existing network printer name is the name of the printer, HPLaserJet200colorMFPM276nw product.  The printer I am trying to add has the same product name.  Is this a problem?  If so, can I change the name of an arbitrary name (currently unused) pre-existing port?

    Do this way:

    1. Open Printers and faxes
    2. Click on add a printer
    3. Click "Next", select "local printer" and make sure the box "Automatically detect my printer Plug-and-Play" is NOT checked
    4. Click "Next", select "create a new port", then select "Standard TCP/IP port" in the drop-down list (Note - If the printer that you are adding is an HP printer and if the drop-down list includes "HP Standard TCP/IP Port" select that instead; more details later)
    5. Click 'Next' in the standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard Welcome screen
    6. For "printer name or IP address" type 192.168.1.105; the "Name of Port" box is filled in automatically, but you can change it to something more useful, like Office LaserJet or a printer room bedroom, etc..
    7. Before you click 'Next', confirm that the printer is turned on
    8. Click 'Finish' to complete her Add Port Wizard and return to the add a Printer Wizard
    9. Select your model and the manufacturer of the printer and the wizard

A very common problem with the printers on a network that are left at the default setting for automatically an IP address is that they have a different IP address by the DHCP server on the router if the printer is turned off for a period of time.  The Windows printing system does not detect IP address changes, and therefore the communication with the printer is lost.  'HP Standard TCP/IP Port' has the ability to detect the printer, even if its IP address changes.  You should definitely select this option or - and this is the best practice - assign a static IP address for printers all in network.

  • How can I remove a printer with Windows 7?

The printer that I deleted manually is always displayed? How can I totally remove it from everywhere?

    Hello

-What is the brand and model of the printer?

-How have you tried to manually delete the printer?

-May I know the location where the printer is showing?

-You are aware of any changes made on the computer before this problem?

Step 1: I suggest you to uninstall Prgorams printer drivers.
    Uninstall or change a program

Step 2: Open devices and printers , click the Start button, and then click the Start menu, click on devices and printers.

    (a) right click on the printer that you want to Remove, click remove device, and then click Yes.
    (b) If you are unable to delete the printer, right-click again, click run as administrator, click Remove device and then click Yes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    Notes:
    (a) If you have a multifunction printer or all-in-one, you can often remove the printer from devices and printers without affecting other functions of the device. So, for example, you could continue to see a scanner or a fax to the device icon.
    (b) you cannot uninstall a printer if you have files in your queue. Cancel printing, or wait until Windows has finished printing. Once the queue is clear, Windows will remove the printer.
    For reference:
    Install a printer

    Hope this information helps.
  • How to locate a network printer by using IP address

    Using Windows XP Pro SP3

Add a printer Xerox Phaser 7800 network to the network with a static IP address.

PC cannot 'find' the printer, but the Mac can simply enter the printers IP address and is instantly connected.

Can I connect the printer with the IP address?  If so, what are the steps?

    Thank you

Wizard adding printer for this in a very dark way.

    1. Start the Add Printer Wizard
    2. Select "Local printer attached to this computer" but do NOT check the box "automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer."
    3. Click on the radio button to "create a new port".
    4. In the drop-down list box, select "Standard TCP/IP Port" - starts it «Standard TCP/IP Port installation wizard»
    5. Type the IP address and port of the give it a name meaningful but short
    6. You go back to the Add Printer Wizard, where you can complete the installation of the printer by choosing the appropriate driver.
  • Network printer with XP and Vista

I initially installed my printer (Canon i850) on the XP computer, then I disconnected the USB cable and plugged into the Vista computer.  Vista has found a driver and it worked.  Then I put in network computers via ethernet and a router.  Now, I try to add the printer as a network printer on the XP computer, but he can't find a driver.  Computer that needs a new driver and what type?
Is not the XP computer generate a print file using a XP compatible driver, send the file to the Vista machine, and it sends the file to the printer?  If that's true, he should be able to use the driver that is already on the XP machine.

    Extremely misleading terminology

When you use the Add Printer Wizard you must select: "Local printer attached to this computer" even if the printer is connected to another computer.
Only after that I tried this option has noticed the "(i) ' who says: to configure a network printer that is not attached to a print server, use the»»
local printer option.  Indeed, he tells you to do two things in the face.

I think that the Assistant must have been modified to only three choices: (1) Local printer, network (2) printer connected to another computer, (3) network printer attached to a print server.
The underlying confusion is due to the double meaning of the term "network printer".

My problem is now solved, but not through Microsoft or you guys.

Got it figured out - the old fashioned way: I used the installation help!

I have a radio amateur transceiver which has an output port that sends "RX I / Q" data related to the entry of a PC sound card. When it is correctly connected and with the correct software, the user (me) is presented with a Visual representation of the activity on a certain range of radio frequency.

The resolution was found in Mac--> Sound System--> tab Input preferences. I changed it to Line In instead of internal mic. He now works as I wanted.
