XP Home Edition licenses!

Hello

I bought Xp home edition. I use it on my desktop. The question is, am I legally allowed to install Xp home edition on 3 machines of my friends? That means the XP license say about it? I wouldn't have problems future activation.

(Actually I first wanted to use Vista on all of them but I told only one installation of vista by a machine).

Thanks for the time.

Hello haceli,

Windows XP and Windows Vista have boundaries identical license as applicable to your situation.  Windows license is licensed per computer, so you will need three XP licenses at home if you want to run XP Home on three computers.

If XP was preinstalled and then to be in compliance with the license of manufacturers, the vendor of the computer SHOULD give you a method of the computer back to factory State, by hidden partition or recovery CD.

See the documentation provided with your computer or contact the seller directly. They should be able to provide at least a CD of recovery (for a small fee of course...)

  • Old license Windows XP Home Edition (HP) is not valid

    Hi guys,.

I recently had to format & reinstall the pc of my father, who has a sticker of xp of windows with the license on this subject.

The sticker says "Windows XP Home Edition HP", but when I try to install WinXP with this license, he said that the license is not valid.

I used the WinXP it SP3 CD, because I can't find the original CD of Windows XP without Service Pack anywhere,.

is this the problem or can I use an old XP license it to install XP SP3 it?

If this isn't the problem, could someone help me know what is the problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

What is the make and model of this PC?

It is important that the media matches the license. So, if the license is an OEM version of XP Home, only an OEM XP Home CD work. A XP Home retail CD are bad media.

Assuming that you have the correct CD, make sure you enter all characters correctly. Make sure that you enter not an 8 for a and B, for example.

  • It is legal to use Windows XP Home Edition for commercial purposes?

I am facing issues of authority of the Indonesian Government on the use of Windows XP Edition family in my shop. Although my Windows certificate and had been forwarded to the audit conducted by the BSA software, the Government continues to officer insisting on the fact that I'm violating the copyright (according to them) Home Edition is only a fine home, non-commercial use. They insisted that I use Windows XP Professional edition. I tried to read the EULA both Home Edition and Professional Edition, I couldn't find any part of the sentence stating that the Publishing House must be used for non-commercial purpose and Pro Windows should only be used for commercial purposes. Can anyone help?

Can someone give me an answer to confirm if netbooks with Windows XP Home, Vista Home Edition, Windows 7 starter (these BONES other than professional or company) be used in a business, connected to the server environment to share files?

I read somewhere that these permits cannot connect to a domain, is this true?

Of coz these OS has not input parameters are even to join a domain, how can they connect?

CAN, that my understanding of that statement means that it cannot be connected to a domain server, means that the netbook cannot be connected to the server to access files shared server?

Can the netbook share files with other computers (vice versa), other than a domain server, on a network of companies?

So what my final question is a netbook can exist in an enterprise environment? What's a standalone machine?

I'm not able to get an answer very Microsoft Singapore confirm after the call to them.

  • Windows XP Home Edition does not load in any mode after reboot to uninstall Norton

I wanted to get rid of Norton anti-virus, then, I have downloaded and run the Norton Uninstaller. After what seemed an eternity he finished and asked me to restart the computer to complete the uninstalation. I clicked the botton "Restart now" and after the screen, which shows the bios is nothing. No loading screen, no beeps or anything else, just black. In addition, it does the same thing in all modes.

I removed the HDD and an IDE to USB for connecting to my mobile backup (Win7 Ultimate) and performed a virus with TrendMicro Titanium antivirus scan + and scan with malewarebytes paid version maleware. No virus or maleware found. So, I ran a check/repair through backup with no found error disc.

I do not have a XP or 7 CD repair/install, nor am I money right now. I really need to get going again.

    Infected computer:

    Compaq Presario M2000

    Windows XP Home Edition SP3

Processor Intel Centrino Pentium M 1.5 GHz

    1 GB of RAM

    Intel Extreme Graphics 2

    Machine backup:

    Dell Inspiron 1501

    Windows 7 Ultimate Edition SP2

    AMD Turion 64 MK - 36 2.0 GHz

    3 GB RAM

    Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 1150

Looks like you somehow corrupted the bootloader.

If I'm not mistaken, you can technically download disc for Microsoft Windows XP SP3 OEM HOME legally, as long as you use your current license.

You can also communicate with Compaq and request a repair disk.

  • Drive broken for Windows XP Home Edition

How would I reinstall Windows XP Home Edition, I don't have the product key number? My drive broken in two?

You have a friend with a similar disk, you can borrow?

Is your a disc provided by the manufacturer, or a MS a hologrammed?

Is your license licensed OEM or retail?

If your computer is a manufacturer, 'name' (Dell/HP/Toshiba, etc) then contact the manufacturer and you order a set of recovery of their own disks.

If your drive is a MS retail or OEM Hologrammed one, see here...
