XP installation on HDD plus
Dell 8250 had a 80 GB hd. Hard drive crashed couldn't find that 80 GB installed 320. Windows xp will not be installed. BIOS indicates a correct size, score watch shows the correct size. Get this file not copied. This happens on most of the files. Can do that being tied to the size of the hard disk also get errors this bad xp cd, I tried two more different. All solutions?
What service pack is your Windows XP (no service pack, SP1, SP2, or SP3)?
For drives larger than 137 GB, you must at least XP with SP1.

Installation of Windows 7 64 bit on a Satellite P500
I bought the above system in August last year with 32-bit Windows 7 installed. I understand that it is not possible to upgrade and to a complete new installation. Is it necessary to format the hard drive first? Have backed up all my data (there was not a lot), but wonder if there is something else I need to know before you continue. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hello
I m a bit confused because I have too many Satellite P500 and, as far as I know, this laptop model comes with 64-bit only.
Can you please tell us what P500 you exactly (P500-xxx)?You are right; before installation Win7 HDD needs to be formatted. If you have installed the OS in the past, I guess you know how it works.
Associated with Toshiba here are two things you should know before starting with the installation of Win7 64 bit:
# Create recovery with the original Toshiba image DVDs. This disk, you can use if you want to have the factory settings once again.
# Drivers, tools and utilities must be installed in the proper installation order. If you ned some hep with it let us know. -
Problem with HDD Protection - Satellite U300 - 14 p
I just bought my Satellite U300 - 14 p and installed windows XP SP3 0.5508 (deletion of Vista that comes with it), with a custom windows XP, boot disk [nLite 1.4.1 | http://www.nliteos.com/index.html] (to include the SATA driver and set up my preferences, such as themes, etc.).
I followed the instructions (installation order) that are on the Drivers Toshiba Download Page and everything goes well until the moment of the installation "TOSHIBA HDD Protection"(v2.0.1.7)", where I get the error message:
"TOSHIBA HDD Protection only is not supported on this model".
Because I downloaded the driver for Windows XP and my computer model (Satellite U300 - 14 p) I do not understand what the problem is.
Can anyone help?Hi mate,
you already updated your BIOS version? It could be that the BIOS does not correctly both support it s worthy to try.
Otherwise I wouldn know why this error message is displayed.
Welcome them

Satellite L670-10 t and Win7 installation
Hi all
I own a laptop Satellite L 670, and recently I met a lot of difficulties with the server DNS and Windows 7.
At the moment I live away from home where I bought it and I want to do a format, but I do not have the recovery discs / windows me.
Is there a way for Toshiba to mail me drivers/windows? What do I have to pay? Note that I am always covered by insurance.Thank you
Every new notebook comes with preinstalled OS image and Recovery save on the HARD drive so that you can install using installation mode HDD recovery image - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
How this works is described in manuals s too so I m asking you didn t inform you on your laptop and collect all the useful info how it works.
If this does not work you have big problem but of all that, we can discuss later. To try first to install OS suite s Toshiba how document.

My laptop has two 2 750 GB HDD (plus a 8 GB SSD Express Cache). The first HARD disk is partitioned into 2 letters two logical sectors (~ 275 GB & 375 GB {more system/recovery NTFS partitions 2}), assigned drive C (main system partition), and D (logical partition) and the second physical disk E (750 GB). Win7Pro64 created a pagefile managed system on the C drive, but not on readers D & E. Y has an advantage, or more importantly, a disadvantage to the creation of swap files on the D & E readers?
I am not opposed to using all the 375GB logical partition on drive D as a swap file if this can help performance, and/or create a pagefile on the E drive the same size as on the C drive, once again, to help performance.
Can someone help me with the best approach?
Also, I have an Intel i7-3610QM with 16 GB of RAM and a GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX G675M with 2 GB of RAM.
Thank you.
Hello
The best option is to let Windows control the pagefile.
Here's more information: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/optimal-page-file-size/3c68f053-1248-48c9-bd10-72874834d595

Maybe your download does not work and the file is corrupted.
Use the generic installer jar where you can test after download. Once the test, open the jar using your patronage zip tool works, you know the download has been authorized.

Can I remove McAfee VirusScan Plus?
I want to use another anti-virus program and have already installed VirusScan more in my veirtual machine. I have looked for ways to uninstall/remove/disable and found nothing. How can I get rid of this program?
McAfee offers a very good Uninstall list of instructions here:
http://service.McAfee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?ID=TS100507
This should apply to your installation of VirusScan Plus. The Development tool will be may not be not necessary, but then again it might. Try it and let us know how you go.
See you soon,.

I just bought Windows 7.0 Professional (retail) and also have Windows XP Professional (also retail).
I realize there is an option 'XP Mode' 7.0, but what I would do is have the ability to access the OS. I build my own computers but I have never installed two operating systems and need some advice on partitions, boot etc. options. For example, is it possible that I can start in 7.0 and switch to XP without having to reboot?
I reached the minimum requirements (CPU = 2.9 GHz, RAM = 6 GB) and the drive I'll install is a 80 GB Sata.
Thanks for the suggestions, links, tutorials etc.

Is it possible to copy an old hard drive to a hard drive nine years Exchange on?
I have a hard drive that gives indications that he is not long for the world, but this now works fine. Can I copy everything from this disk to a new hard drive and then swap them and have the system work exactly as before. I guess what I'm asking is if the computer will not differentiate between the old and the new drive. The computer is running Windows 7. Should I upgrade to Windows 10 before or after such action. Thank you all.
Get moving now, the longer you wait the more problems can occur during the upgrade of Windows 10 or after the installation of 10.

Slow performance on Satellite A30 HARD drive
Hello
Recovery of my Satellite A30 CDs become damaged so I acquired a full oem version of XP Home and installed after activation etc, I installed the drivers provided by the tools and utilities CDROM, but after installation the HDD is really slow, it takes 15 minutes to start and has a time, there is nothing wrong with the hard drive that I placed in a casing external and tested , and he turned to normal speed etc.
Does anyone have an idea about this problem? #Thank you
Ewan
Hello Ewan
It is not easy to say what the problem is here. Are you sure that the HARD drive is OK 100%. I recommend you scan the HARD drive and see if there may be some bad sectors. I had a similar situation with my old 1800 satellite. In the beginning, everything is ok, but with more content and more on the drive HARD, HARD drive was slower and slower.
15 minutes to boot after installation of clean operating system is really strange.

This laptop is equipped with a CPU AMD ATI graphics card.
The SATA drivers are included in the graphics driver. You must download the graphics driver and the "SATA/SBDrv contains the files needed!
On the other hand, you can try switch mode SATA from AHCI to compatible.
This allows the installation of XP without including the SATA driverGood bye

Drivers available for HP8563E for LabView 7.0?
I have an older test installation whose HDD crashed. When we recovered the files, my library for the HP8563E (hp8563e.llb) has been altered. I'm using LabView 7.0 and impossible to pass at this time.
My problem is that only the LabView 8.0 driver is available on the Web site of NOR (http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E955B659CE034080020E748...).
Anyone know where I could find a version of LabView 7.0 of this library?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Try to copy a newspaper online article, but it will not stick to a word document.
I'm trying to copy a newspaper online article, but it will not stick to a word document. Have done this for years without problem. Windows want to now restore to an earlier date and send an error report. I use Windows XP
The problem is that the NTN online newspaper is displayed as a Flash video, which essentially cannot be copied and pasted. Because you said that you have been copying things over the years, I guess RTN has recently changed how they provide the journal online.
You have two options.
1. you can print the pages in which you are interested and keep in a file or loose-leaf notebook. Use the 'print' in the journal view, not your browser file > print menu or the browser print icon.
2. download and install free CutePDF Writer and the free converter of GPL Ghostscript of CutePDF. It's probably better log on as a user with "computer administrator" privileges to proceed with the installation. Check the FAQ.
After installing CutePDF Writer, whenever you print something, will be one of the choices for the printer to use CutePDF Writer.
Then, print the pages of the newspaper online RTN 1 above, but use CutePDF Writer rather than your 'real' printer A dialog box opens asking you to designate a file name and a location where the result will be stored. After a while, you will have a PDF of your selected pages (rather than a Word document).
Most people have already installed the Adobe Reader app for free. If you do not, you can get it here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ don't forget to UNCHECK the box which installs McAfee Security Plus. Or, if you want a smaller, faster, less intrusive pdf reader, Foxit Readerfree software.
