Hi, I have a. MSWMM file that does not work in the school's computers. I did at home and trying to open it up to the school. At home I can't publish it to .wmv. It is said that it can not be argued. Same thing at school, but at school, it is said that when I try to open it. Pleaes Help!

    =================================================
    Just some general info...

FWIW... the .mswmm file is just the Movie Maker project file is not
include the source of files (videos, photos, music, etc...), it records the
path to the location of origin... so even if you could open it on school
computer would be useless unless you also had copies of all sources
    files.

If you cannot publish the project .mswmm to .wmv movie format file
on the system that created the view may be a problem with the compatibility
    the source files.

Several formats are apparently compatible with Movie Maker but most
    reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Music - wma, wav, wmv

Also... it may be interesting to try to open Movie Maker and go to... Tools / Options /.
Compatibility tab and disable all filters / OK.

It is possible that your project is too large and too complex for your system resources.
It may be interesting to try to create several small projects and publish each of them as
a file separate .wmv video. Then import the collection of clips .wmv in Windows
DVD Maker and each one becomes a scene (chapter). Also... you can re-import
the collection of small files in Movie Maker .wmv and combine them into a single file.

  • Movie Maker does not start

I have a Dell XPS 1330 laptop, running Windows 7.  I downloaded and installed Windows Movie Maker.  Whenever I try to start it, I get an error message saying: "sorry, cannot start Movie Maker.  Make sure that your video card meets the minimum requirements, update the driver, and then try again. »

The minimum requirements are: "video card or driver video that supports Microsoft DirectX 9.0 c (or later version) and Pixel Shader 2.0 (or later)."  The Videocard in my Dell XPS 1330 does it take?

It seems that I have the latest version of the driver. Whenever I try to install an update, I get a message saying that I already have the latest version.

I tried to get help from Microsoft, but after looking at my logs, they sent the following message: "our support team have verified your files of log and found that it is obsolete and an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version. We were not able to find the driver through the Dell website, then recommend to contact Dell technical support if there are updates on your pilot. »

I really need to be able to run Movie Maker in order to combine and edit videos that I send to my doctor.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Movie Maker: Does not work! A similar program: will not play!

    Greetings from Microsoft professionals!

So I just got me a new computer HP desktop with XP and everything works fantastic with the exception of Windows Movie Maker. I use it on a regualr basis to create 2d animation frame-by-frame and it is important that I have functional. Unfortunately, when I open it, it is quick to give me a window "has encountered a problem / needs to close." The debug option is useless. What is really strange is that I managed to get a very similar program called "Camtasia. This program works, although it will not play videos, even his own tutorials! Audio, however, works very well. I find as strange as Media Player plays video smoothly, seems to work on the same basis as the viewers of other programs...?

Things that I've tried, from other responses on blogs, etc. :

    -Reinstall Movie maker

-Uninstalling Movie maker (it says it cannot)

-Apparently essential codec packs, one at a time, uninstall the last to avoid "clash".

    -Installation of DIVX

    -Remove, reinstall Adobe Flash player

    -Updated Windows service pack 3

-Updated ActiveX (including suggested Internet security 'custom settings' to allow ActiveX to do his stuff by choosing prompting options

    instead of being completely disabled

-Ask my technical friends, suggesting a codec problem.

I've been at this for eight hours, and this is my last ditch in order to understand this. Help, please!

I just started using Movie Maker.  I have a few movies made and published to my computer, and they played wonderfully.  I have two questions.  When I return to movie maker and open the file to make a few adjustments different edition of the film will not play.  I've tried everything.  My calendar of film is clearly visible, but nothing makes the reading of the full video in movie maker.  When I go back to recorded versions on my videos that I have no problem playing the video.  What Miss me.  I want to make a minor revision to my film but can't do play in movie maker.

Second question - I have only the ability to record on a cd on my computer at home.  I have saved movies on a CD and downloaded on my work computer that has Roxio and a DVD burner.  It seems that I have correctly recorded on my work computer to a DVD-R disc, and it appears that when he plays on my computer from the disk, however, when I try to play on a DVD player it displays an error and will not play.  Roxio gives me the opportunity to record in different formats for compatibility (old DVD to Blueray players) and I tried both without success.  Any ideas.

What version of Movie Maker are you running?

What is the format of your backed up files in Movie Maker?

For a re-edition, you need the project .mswmm file
