  Hi all

  Testing a D20 for the company and can not get the D20 to run as a SATA drive only. Currently, its spinning the Marvell controller with a 500 GB drive in.

  Have tried to get into the BIOS and disable the RAID controller but then I can't use the HD as just a SATA drive.

  The only joy I had is to plug in a diskette with 32-bit controller Marvell drivers starting with Windows XP 32-bit, as he travels through install press F6 to install the drivers for the controller, and then once I hit continues to back installation/format disks, I get a blue screen of death. The strange thing is that if I use our WinXP SP3 32 bit copy of Microsoft license which it MUST be installed with I get the BSOD, but if I through in a Dell WinXP SP3 32 bit OS disk I can install the operating system without problem at all!

  All I want to do is really disable the single use of SATA drive only (somehow) RAID controller and install WinXP SP3 32-bit using our copy of Microsoft Licensing with this blue screening!

  Any help would be fantastic!

  Think twice before using Windows XP 64-bit.  Very few pilots have been written for this platform and, frankly, it's not all that stable, what I read.

  Ben,

  I totally agree with PML, you should be able to set up IE and then go to the Windows updates from there, once you get on the Windows Update site it will scan your system and implement critical updates and optional updates SP2 and SP3 should be on the list. It's a way to force an immediate update.

  Here are the specifications of my laptop. Because it seems to be able to address up to 16 GB of RAM, I suspect 32 bit Win7 was installed as the laptop has only 4G of RAM in it.   Are your machines with a UEFI firmware? If so - bad luck because they don't are not supported (p.19 in the guide). The reason is not the firmware itself (Converter supports UEFI) but the bootloader. SLES using GRUB with BIOS machines but ELILO with computers UEFI and converter does not support ELILO.

  If this isn't the case, please attach the full bundle newspaper. GUI logs aren't useful.
