1. download the installation of SP2, SP3 and IE8 files. I prefer to keep these on a USB key, but this is optional. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=28 (for SP2)
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24 (for SP3)
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=43 (for IE8)
And if you wish, download the Setup file of a good anti-virus program. I recommend Avira free Antivirus:
http://www.Avira.com/en/Avira-free-antivirus
2. disconnect Internet.
3. temporarily disable the automatic updates.
4. install SP2. Reset.
5 install the SP3. Reset.
6 switch to IE8. Restart TWICE.
7 install an Antivirus software.
(What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).
8 make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should be).
(Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet.)
9 visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates.
10 re - enable automatic updates.

Windows SP1 - "the server has not responded.
Hello!
I perform a clean installation on the machine of my old mother. In fact, service of the only operation I can install is Windows XP Pro. I downloaded the sp1aexpress_usa.exe file to automatically perform the update.
After a few checks performed by the program, he prepared to download the Service Pack 1 files. A few seconds/minutes later, the following error message appears: "the server has not responded.
I spent nearly 3 hours to dig the web to see if I can download SP1 from somewhere within Microsoft, without a bit of luck. Is it possible to upgrade correctly from this machine to SP1 - SP2 - SP3 and thus now or should I format the computer once more and try an operating system open source?
Thanks for your time
Pablo
SP1 (SP1a) is totally useless. All you need to do is to install SP2 and SP3. For more details:

Hello
Recently, I reformatted and reinstalled windows XP on my old laptop. Looking to obtain service packs for it, I read that you need to start with SP1a... I did some research autour and many people are having the same problem, but nobody responded to the real problem. According to Microsoft, I install SP1a to install any other. The error is as follows: the server did not respond. If the server has been taken down or refuses connections. My internet connection remained active all attempts to access the server.Unless the information is wrong on the website, installation of SP3 won't fix it. All responses I've seen to this problem have been installing something you can't until you install first. Here is the link, in that it tries to connect:Connection tohttp://xpSP1.Microsoft.com/ISAPI/pstream3.dll/XP/SP1.USA.1106a.Here's the exact error:"The following error occurred during the installation of the Service Pack 1a attempted to download the files from the Service Pack 1 from the internet:The server did not respond. »Thank you.You should be able to download the Service Packs as a standalone installer at the following addresses:
SP1a: <> http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=19751 >
SP2 <> http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=28 >
SP3 <> http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24 >If you can not download to your computer, then use another machine to download the installation file and move it to your computer.
You don't need to install SP1A. XP Gold, you must install SP1A or SP2 before installing SP3. I recommend that you start with SP2 and then SP3.

Hi all
Can I confirm with expert from Microsoft, it's windows foundation server 2012 may not be the first domain controller (which means that the first AD in the forest)? It must be attached to the root of the forest as a domain controller. If I'm promoting it to be first DC in new forest, he invites you to "the server has not completed the compliance audit of the licenses. If the server is joined to a domain, make sure that the server can connect to a domain controller. If the license compliant check cannot be completed, the server will automatically close in 9 days...
Thank you & best regardsAndyHi Andy,.

Safari throws "Safari cannot open page because the server is not responding" while Chrome throws an error "this site is not reachable, connection timed out" for most relationships other than Facebook, Google, Youtube and a few other sites on my Macbook Pro. Windows XP service pack 1 fails with the error "server has not responded.
After that a delay of a minute or two, running the SP1a update .exe (sp1aexpress_usa.exe) well failure I have an active Internet connection
It does not work every time with a "the server has failed" after telling me that this error has occurred when trying to download files from XP Service Pack 1.I tried four times over a period of three hours is not an appearance of time.Thank youJimHi Jim,.
If you already have the Service Pack 1 (SP1) is installed, we do not recommend to install SP1a. Instead, I you suggest to download and install the Service Pack 2 (SP2) and then update SP3 to continue to receive.
For how to obtain the latest service pack, see How to obtain the latest Windows XP service pack

Note: The Support for Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) will end on July 13, 2010. If you are running Windows XP SP2 after support ends, you will not receive updates of security for Windows. To maintain your Windows XP computer up-to-date download Service Pack 3 via Windows update.

Hi all
I couldn't use the vSphere Client to enter in vCenter (from my office).
I could not Remote Desktop on the server vCenter resides on.
I could go on the console of the server vCenter resides on. I couldn't use vSphere Client from there either.
I tried rebooting vCenter and got this error message:
Unable to stop the VMware VirtualCenter Server Service on Local computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond initially or control in a timely manner.
Any ideas where to look for more clues or ideas on what might be the case?
Thank you.
I could not Remote Desktop on the server vCenter resides on.
This is not vcenter Server.
Check the configuration of Windows.
Have you tried restarting your vCenter Server system?

Windows XP SP1 installs because the server is not responding
My wife has just died so I used the restore cd provided with his old office xp emachines to get rid of all the files to give to his grandson directed.
Today, however it will be not updated. I tried to install SP1a that fails because the server does not and SP2 that s just a txt file.
Anyone got any ideas how I can go back to SP3 on the computer?
It is 32-bit and is not too powerful but BIF run before SP3
My condolences.
If the restore CD you have to sp1, you need not sp1a or sp2. You can go directly to sp3. SP1a is the same as sp1, but the removal of the "Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM from MS). Microsoft released XP sp1a as part of a settlement with Sun Microsystems patent infringement (then owner of Java).

HOW TO get WinXP SP1 or SP2 fully patched after a 'clean install': http://groups.Google.com/group/Microsoft.public.WindowsXP.General/MSG/a066ae41add7dd2b
1. download & save the installer for WinXP SP3 on your desktop:
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5b33b5a8-5E7...[Yes, you can jump SP2 if you run WinXP SP1.]
2. read & take into account:

4. make the resolution method 2 here (believe me):
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/9431445. go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Install all required software, and then click CONTINUE. Select CUSTOM and scan | Install the critical updates of security offered. Still, follow all the instructions.
[I do NOT recommend install IE7 through Windows Update.]
6. make sure that automatic updates is enabled; FC.

IM currently under xp pro sp1. I want to upgrade to sp3, and I read that before the update to sp3, you have sp1a or sp2 (obviously not available). while trying to install sp1a, I get a message "server not responding" and then he directs me to go to the microsoft site to download a version of the file that does not use my internet connection. I can't find this file anywhere. My question is #1 I'm even doing this right? and anyway to update without having to download sp1a first? IM this operating system running on an ibm thinkpad. I know its outdated and will be a bit slow though, my reason to update to sp3 should be more compatible with the newer programs that won't let me download with sp1. Thanks for any help in advance.
See my response to this thread--> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_install/windows-xp-service-pack-1a-server-not-contactable/72a91455-7814-4d05-817c-52a4fbff0d8d
There is a much more important reason to install sp3 ' to be more compatible with the newer programs. If you have been online since August 2004 with Windows XP service pack 1 or more (when sp2 is released), the chances are high that your system is compromised (one of the reasons why he is "a bit slow").
You might seriously consider a "clean install" of Windows with whatever you have and then recovery media immediately this update to sp3. If you do this AND your recovery mechanism restores Norton or McAfee trial ware, after you make initial/reinstall recovery and before you install sp3, follow the advice of MS MVP PA Bear below:
VERY IMPORTANT! => Any Norton or McAfee free trial which is preinstalled on the computer when you bought will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. You need TO uninstall the trial for free AND download/run the appropriate removal BEFORE tool to install updates, the Windows Service Packs, or updates of IE AND BEFORE installing your new antivirus application (for example, Microsoft Security Essentials - free).

I am running Windows 8.1 and it happens both in 32-bit and 64-bit applications
Here you will find the latest updates for CS5: Adobe - Photoshop: for Windows
You can download and install these updates if you don't have it already.
CS5 is no longer sold nor Nations took in charge, will not get new updates.

My boss said McAfee Spamkiller in our outlook Express 6. Soon after, we were more able to receive e-mails. It runs on a POP3 server, and I can still access all the info in our webmail. I uninstalled McAfee, and now Outlook is not connect properly. I still have a mcAfee firewall to the top. When I open the program, it says it allows and every 60 seconds a message comes up saying "your POP3 serverhas not responded in 60 seconds. Woud you like to wait 60 seconds for the server to respond?
What should I do?
You have permission to remove McAfee completely? Next to Norton, this is the second AV program less compatible, that you may be able to use with any Windows email client.

I tried a lot of things. It doesn't work in Thunderbird either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have gmail accounts that work FINE in Thunderbird... probably would work in Windows Mail... just is not done because he didn't need to. I need my account of the Charter to work in SOMETHING... anything!
Thanks in advance. :)
