XPS 13 (9343) driver issues

Hi, I am trying to install drivers for the XPS 13 (9343). It is a failure if I add chipset drivers and a few others as well. I was doing this thanks to import drivers and implementing the pilot packs.

When I took the chipsets and the other couple, there is no shortage. So, I packed installs it, but those who are too flawed.

In fact, can you tell me what I need to do in order to integrate all the drivers for this particular model?

Hi David,

Are you using the ImageAssist tool for your image capture / restore process?  Sometimes I see messages in this forum to ImageAssist of users who are not using the ImageAssist tool for their image capture / restore.  If you are using ImageAssist, can you please give the steps you do?  Also, which CAB driver are you using? (link please)

Thank you

I am facing a problem where about 50% of the time that I start my XPS 13 9343, I have a red X on the "speaker" icon and no audio.  If I have the mouse on the icon it says "no audio output device is installed".

Looking at the HW Realtek Audio Codec in the Device Manager, it says:

After seeing this, I uninstalled and deleted the driver through Device Manager.  I reinstalled the driver from the Dell website (9343_Audio_Driver_X22K2_WN32_7422.118.0_A01. (EXE).  I always feel the question.

I bought my XPS 13 9343 with windows by default 8.  I upgraded to windows 10 today and found the same problem with you.

Downloaded and installed all the drivers updated, does not work.

Dell system tried to detect and pilot managers, automatic download failed. So I manually downloaded an audio driver, in a loop of uninstall, reboot, installation, does not work.

Finally, I decided to change to 9343_BIOS_Rev_A07 BIOS, Dell XPS 13 9343 system BIOS; and restart the computer, it works!

  • Format and reinstall Windows 10 - Dell XPS 13 9343

    Hello

I have a Dell XPS 13 9343 provided with windows 8.1 and I have upgraded to windows 10.
I would like to format and do a clean install of windows 10 and after that to create a dual boot with ubuntu.
I don't want to retrieve anything, just in any format.
    My question is:
    1. What is the best way to do it? Is there a preparation necessary before formatting (except backup)? If anyone can point me to a relevant detailed guide, it will be great.
    2. do I need to care that I want to install ubuntu in dual boot, when I format and install windows? Or just to install after windows is already installed?
    Thank you.

10 Windows will recreate all the partitions it needs. If you want to save your old settings factory Dell backup and restore use to make a bootable USB:

The memory on this model is welded in - it cannot be deleted.

If you haven't run a complete diagnosis of the hardware, F12 repeatedly at startup will help you do.  You can also watch to see if you have crash dump files (WhoCrashed is a good utility for their sight-reading).

  • Dell XPS 13 (9343) touchpad scrolling speed.

    Hello

So I just took my brand new Dell laptop XPS 13 (9343) today and everything works perfectly. The only problem I have with it at the moment is the speed of the touchpad, because I believe that it is too slow for my taste. I can't find the touchpad settings in the Control Panel, I can't find any drivers concerned for the model I have.

Is it possible to increase the scrolling speed?

  • Yet another customer unsatisfied XPS 13 9343 touchpad

I want to add my voice to the chorus that the touchpad on the XPS 13 9343 (early 2015) gives me fits. I installed the BIOS A01, did not help significantly.

    1. Cursor jumps around under palm ghost touches, even without touching the touchpad
    2. sometimes unable to leave his right hand on the pavement and let button to work with the left hand
    3. sometimes is unresponsive for several seconds. especially vertical scrollbar in Firefox
    4. cursor jumps on the two right and left clicks, often by clicking the wrong button in the process
    5. occasional clicks ghosts when you pull the mouse on the page

The XPS 13 is a beautiful notebook.  He really need an app fully featured touchpad to set the sensitivity and eliminate too sensitive behaviors.

By the waay, types also sometimes double keyboard.  Another feature that should be easily resolved with a period of repetition that does not exist.

    Brabian

Your best bet is to send it back while you still can and are looking for another machine but not from Dell.

Look at the spectrum by HP for example, it seems to have the same features and cost much less. Search the touchpad before buying.

Dell has knowledge on touchpad problems for a while and has had plenty of time to give us pilots and a screen put up so that each person can adjust the touchpad to his personal preferences. But in my opinion reason he hangs out and do not admit there is a problem means that Dell is not going to solve the problem.

Some even want to blame Microsoft, compare that to buy a new car and say Ford says go to manufacturing the parts for an item replaced or fixed. Completely ridiculous!

I paid Dell $1599,00 plus tax and this means that Dell is the responsible party.

How is it possible that Dell designed, built prototypes and run operational tests on these machines without noticing that the touchpad has so many problems?

  • XPS 420 - HARD drive failed, performing a clean install of Vista on the new HARD drive.

    Hey everybody,

My on my XPS 420 HARD drive failed and I'm trying to reinstall Vista using the disc that came with my machine back when I bought it.

I bought a new WD10EZEXAZ (1 TB Serial ATA HDD), he rose in the same dwelling as my old HDD (ST3750630AS * Barracuda 7200.11*). I start the PC and goto Setup, it recognizes the HARD drive in the blue menu.

Then I boot with the CD of Vista that came with my system. I proceed as indicated through the following url:

    Clean install of Vista

After its copied files, expanded the files, installed features, updates installed... it goes to "Complete Installation" and throws an error message: "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

I tried a few things I've seen posted on the internet, including trying to run msoobe.exe via command line. When I did, it allows me to Setup user... but finally I get sent to this message of error or another telling me I have to reinstall Windows.

I read else where some hard disks may not compatible with the Dell disk provides with my OEM machine. If this is the case, can someone advise? I really didn't want to spend $100 one another on a Windows 7 disc, but I feel like this may be my only option... but even in this case, I'm not so sure this will work or the other.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Tony

    UPDATE *.
Did some more research, I discovered my new drive HARD is an advanced HDD format... not sure if it has nothing to do with my problems (by www.wdc.com/advformat Vista should not need to perform the work before the OS being installed), but thought I would mention it.

    Thanks again for any help.

    ****************

Seems that I found the solution to my problem.

Problem has been fixed by going into the BIOS and change the Mode of Port SATA to IDE/native/AHCI native. After that, the installation worked without any problems. Seems that Windows Setup did not like the port mode is set to RAID.

Just thought I would post back everybody incase has had the same problem.

  • XPS 13 9343 change the function keys

I would like to change/disable the function keys on my XPS 13.  All searches on Google I've seen indicate that you can do this via a setting in the BIOS, but the BIOS EFI in my laptop has no entry to change the function keys.  Is there another way?

OK, finally figured this out... post here so I hope that it helps someone else.

All my research on this indicated that I had to change a setting in BIOS under the section 'System Configuration '.  Obviously this option asked, at least on the A07 BIOS on my XPS 13 9343.  The option that you need to change is now 'Behaviour of PUBLICATION'.  Select "Options of the FN lock" and make sure that "FN lock is verified (it should be... is the default) then be sure to Lock Mode Enable/secondary is selected.»  It is he who turns off the "multimedia" keys  Enjoy.  :)

  • XPS 13 (9343) - unable to upgrade to Windows 10 - error 0xC1900101 0 x 30018

I have a brand new 13 XPS, 9343 model with i7 processor and 512 GB SSD. I'm still within the period of 14 days, and I'm now seriously returning. I've never known such a load of nonsense trying to install any other piece of software.

So far, and after many attempts, I was completely unable to upgrade to Windows 10. The first thing I did was to install all the Windows updates available for 8.1 (there were 79 of them), and immediately after that I started the saga to install Win10. Nothing else has been done to the laptop - no questionable software or USB devices (except the USB boot if necessary). It is in a State of cleanliness.

-After the download via Windows Update, the installation procedure is INCREDIBLY slow (for example, it takes 36 HOURS to reach 42% completion - and at this point, it hits the error message). What the heck can he do?

-J' also tried to create a bootable USB drive via the media creation tool. If I boot from the USB key and perform a "clean" installation, it works perfectly: it takes about 8 minutes total (which highlights how ridiculous the 36 hours). However, because it is a clean installation and not an 'upgrade', I find myself with a non-activated version of Windows 10 and I am asked to pay £99.99, I don't intend to do. I paid for the laptop on the understanding, he would get a FREE upgrade to Win10!

-J' also tried using the USB key (but not the start of it) to perform the upgrade in place - this strikes the same mistake as Windows Update (and taking so long)

-J' tried to uninstall all antivirus software, and disable all wireless/bluetooth devices before performing the upgrade - nothing of this aid. Because need me 36 HOURS per attempt, it is really not acceptable to try disabling things randomly in the vain hope that it might work correctly.

When trying to upgrade (i.e. not), I hit an error message "Windows Setup cannot set up Windows on your hardware" or similar. During the recovery after the failure, tool configuration gives the 0xC1900101 error code 0 x 30018 and says it failed in operation 'FIRST_BOOT', the phase SYSPREP. Just make this error message cost me 36 hours of waiting (welcome to the future!), then it would be really helpful if someone could give me a definitive answer on what makes...

  • Compatibility M.2 SanDisk SSD X 400 with new XPS 8900 and cloning issues

I just got a new 8900 XPS running and ordered a Sandisk X 400 1 TB SATA III M.2 drive for her.  I know, adding that a PCIE SSD with adapter would be much faster.  But I'm not a gamer and concentrate more on edge backup and storage.  And the new Sandisk card gets good reviews and should give a nice speed boost.  This will be my first attempt at cloning of a new boot disk and install an SSD.  I went through the forum and found some good information.  A few questions...

One of the sons said that an SSD with the B and M keys (like this one) may not work.  Searching the Web I found no comments from anyone who has tried this particular SSD in a new XPS desktop.  No compatibility issues?

Another thread has been posted problems with starting the XPS 8900, when you add a new disk, but the updated BIOS to 2.1.3 seemed to be the solution.  I confirmed that my machine already has this version of BIOS.  Once again, any concerns?

My plan is to clone again SSD in the computer using Acronis or other software, then set as the boot drive in BIOS.  Is there a reason to delete the operating system of the C: drive, thereafter, or can just stay as a backup if problems occur with the SSD?

I have already installed a few programs including MSOffice 2007 and Windows Essentials, so I can use the machine, but otherwise it is always very clean.  When I do the clone will be these OK execution since the SSD without much messing around?  And they will have to be uninstalled from the HARD drive?

    Thank you!

    1 TB HARD DRIVE

I'll answer some of my own questions.  The M400 Sandisk SSD drive arrived today and I found a screw M2x4 at Ace Hardware to install it with.  Installation was super simple.  I used a pair of pliers to hold the small screws in place and then a Jewelers screwdriver to fix it.

He seemed to take more time for the first start that made me nervous, but all loaded without any problems.  I rebooted and that you press F2 to get into the BIOS and the new SSD was there!  And then let the computer loads Windows and checked Device Manager and it's still there!

As expected the reader not yet appear in Windows because it was not formatted.  I used under Computer Management disk management to initialize the disk.  And now I have a new drive I: 935 GB free.

So far so good.  Seems like the M400 Sandisk should work perfectly.

Next step is to clone.  Always blazing new territory for me... when the drive is cloned it will remain I: or it will be C:?

    . Thank you.

    Hi Felix,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of community of Microsoft.

I understand that the sound of your system plays only after you update the audio drivers. The question could arise due to the installation of the corrupt or incompatible driver package.

Before troubleshooting, I would like to inform you that the drivers for the model of your system on the Dell Web site are displayed for Windows Vista, by default. So, I recommend you to change the operating system to Windows 7 while choosing for pilots.

In addition, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Try running the fixit for audio playback of Windows problems and check if it helps.

Diagnose and solve the problems of Windows audio playback automatically

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

If you have installed Windows 7 drivers from the website and have not properly been able to play the audio, then I suggest you to install the Windows Vista drivers from Dell site in compatibility mode and check for the issue.

    1. Download the Windows Vista driver on the Dell website.
    2. Right-click on the downloaded driver file.
    3. ClickProperties , and then select the compatibility tab.
    4. Check enable the option run this program in compatibility mode for: , then select Windows Vista from the drop down.
    5. Click OK and install the driver.
