XPS 15 / Inspiron 15 7000 + no touchscreen and Windows 7

Two questions relating to the products in the subject line!

(1) what kind of support/problems a face making a pure install Windows 7 Home Edition on the new XPS 15 or 15 Inspiron 7000 series?

(2) the 15 XPS and Inspiron 15 7000 series technical sheets list a weight/thickness less when configure them with a touch non-ecran to display; However, there doesn't seem to be a way to configure these laptops without touchscreens.  Is it possible to set up each laptop without a touchscreen, and if so how do you go?  If no good to fix your sheets, Dell! :)

Thanks for raising concerns. Let me see if I can answer some things for you:

(1) in making a new installation of windows 7 most things should be fairly easy. I did clean installs on some Dell systems like this and the only real dispute is driver and program updates. If you do a 'clean' install, I assume you mean to one of the two methods. By using the disk or partition Dell to install back to settings factory Dell how you just go ahead and do it and then reinstall your programs and go about your day. If you are using a Dell installation no, then you would just install and use page (located in my signature) downloads for you ensure that you update all drivers and drivers Dell. Sometimes drivers were to be installed manually, whereby, with the help of a USB key is useful (you put the driver disk installation file using a computer and move to the other computer and install it). Most of the other things are downloadable through one way or another, but essentially you will spend more time downloaded programs and drivers.

Do an install clean I highly would you suggest backup all files first, note the serial numbers (including your serial number of windows to reinstall them later if necessary), and make a list of all programs that you want to reinstall.

(2) not all configurations are available in all locations. Thus, specifications are often given for all possible configurations, even if this configuration is not available in your area. If you don't see the touch non-ecran customization options and it's a brand it or pause option for you, you can find other outlets for purchase, such as the Dell Outlet store, Amazon, Ebay, etc. However, I encourage you to buy directly from Dell for the best support and warranty options.

I hope that addresses your concerns, please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns, followed.

  • volume control stuck on screen - not work - not adjustable, Inspiron 13 7000 series 2-in-1

I have just bought a new laptop Inspiron 13 7000 series 2-1. It comes with Windows 8.1. It happened (don't know why) that the volume control is frozen on the screen at the top left with the volume level of 0% so I can not adjust the volume of all on both the keyboard and the touchscreen.

What I've tried is less than

-In the Control Panel, sounds, communications: when Windows detects communications activity

    Select "do nothing".

-uninstalled the audio driver and leave it is reinstalled automatically after reboot

-uninstalled the audio driver and install the audio driver downloaded from dell support

-clean the boot and uninstall - reinstall the driver

It was solved once when I tried the pull-off and push the usb for the logitech wireless mouse. When the volume control is stuck on the screen again, I tried this again, but it does not help.

    Any suggestion please. Thank you.

  • Inspiron 17 7000 2-in-1 (7778) with 32 GB of ram, it works?

Someone has already tried 32 GB of ram (2 x 16 GB) in the Inspiron 17 7000 2-in-1 (7778)? It work?

When shopping for memory on the Dell site, I found that they offer a 16GB module with this system listed as compatible:

    Accessories.us.Dell.com/.../ProductDetail.aspx

This pleasantly (!) was surprised because it would open the possibility of 32 GB of ram in total. However, according to the manual of the system allows only up to 16 GB of ram. I guess it would be 2x8GB ram because it has two slots (PC4 - 17000 2133 Mhz DDR4). For the processor (i7 6500U) should not be a problem, Intel card say he works with up to 32 GB of ram.

    A confirmation would be appreciated!

    Hi DaveWelling,

Dell Inspiron 7778 would take 16 GB maximum memory of the system. Supported on simple slot memory is 4 GB, 8 GB, 12 GB, and 16 GB but Dell has not tested 32 GB of RAM on the system. Like the 32 GB memory must not only support the processor on the card, but also the bus circuit (speed) on the system board.

  • Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series WiFi question

I bought an Inspiron 15 7000 series a week ago. Early on, the wifi does not work properly. It takes too much time to connect and also automatically disconnects frequently. Sometimes it shows only limited connectivity. I've updated the drivers but no change so far. All other devices in the House do not work properly. Thanks in advance for your support.

10 days ago, I bought an Inspiron 15 7000 series.  I had similar problems.  WiFi worked when you're sitting next to the router, but it refused to connect at all in low signal strength areas.  In moderate zones (next room or room just below) it works very well for a while but intermittently lose connectivity and although showing that connected would refuse to transfer anything - this necessary apparently the router rebooted to solve.  Since this morning I seem to have fixed things.  It is now usable in any home, linking where it has not before and no abandonment so far in areas of moderate signal strength.  The solution for me was to download the drivers from Intel.  Note that it worked when I first completely deleted existing drivers for wi - fi and bluetooth using Device Manager - I needed to check the box to delete the files, not only remove the drivers.  Then run the downloaded Update resulted in different drivers being installed.  In fact, these seem to be older than those previously installed - version number lower, earlier, fewer config options - which may be why the update did not return to this version until I completely deleted the drivers existing. It worked for me.  Certainly worth a try if you a not entirely remove the existing driver before the update files.  Note that if you do this, you must replenish your router password when you first connect to the wi - fi again.

    Hello

I bought my Inspiron 7437 in Dec 2013 in the United States (I live in the United Kingdom and it is impossible for me to reach the support the American customer) and I still have the original box with all that came with it, there was no disc (because there is no disk drive on the 7437) or anythihg with Microsoft product key.  I upgraded to 8.1 immediately without problem.

Now for a year, I have problems with OneDrive don't no synchronization and Microsoft support suggested I upgrade to Windows 10, but they said to do, I need to "Product key of Windows 8" and "ISO" which "usually come on a CD with your laptop.  I am in contact with Microsoft technical support, we continue the process, they work on my machine remotely.

I don't have the key, or ISO files because nothing came with the laptop initially.  Maybe it's possible to upgrade to Windows 10 without product key Windows 10 and ISO files (I have not tried) BUT I want to do like Microsoft support told me because they're trying to solve my problem of OneDrive.

Can pls anyone suggest how to get the product key of Windows 8 and ISO files?

  • Inspiron 17 7000: SD card reader not working not

I took delivery of the sleek Inspiron about two weeks ago and have spent a good part of this time everything set up (& upgrade to Windows 10). Not like the Pentium/WinXP is?

Yet, almost done now. Except the SD card reader does not work. I've updated all the drivers - I'm pretty sure (!) because the Dell system analysis doesn't seem to detect the drivers, system - and have updated the driver SD SD (Realtek) more than card reader once. It shows as "Successful Installation", or similar.

However, there is no SD card reader in the device manage, but there is a unknown device in "PCI Slot 3". I uninstalled it but reinstalls it every reboot in "Other devices" as "Unknown". I also tried updating the driver, but it does not work.

I'm guessing that this stranger is the SD card reader. There is no another entry in to the SD card reader device manager.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thank you

  • XPS 435 MT and Windows 8

I see that the XPS 435 T is not recommended for Windows 8. I have XPS 435 MT will be able to run Windows 8?

I did a migration from Windows 7 to Windows 8, not pure install, that way I don't have to reinstall all the SW I have on the PC. (Vista to Win 7 migration I did a few years ago)

I have an ATI HD4850 graphics card. ATI does not support this card any longer, so ATI does not provide to WIN 8 drivers. However, Windows 8 is compatible with this graphics card with own drivers.

The motherboard Bios that I have updated to Version 1.1.4 there years

What surpised me is that my Miccrosoft Webcam, LifeCam VX-6000, is not compatible Win8.

It still works under Desktop mode to win 8, for example, in Spype. But using the version Skype metro camera is not visible. So I bought a new.

VirtualCloneDrive I had to reinstall after upgrade of Win8.

Verification of the compatibility of the Win8 said most things is not compatible I before deinstatlled migration to Windows 8.  But it was only a few items listed.

  • PhotoShop CS6 will work with screen tactile Dell and Windows 10?

I'm looking to replace my Dell laptop with a 15.6 laptop "series of Inspiron 5000, which has 16 GB RAM 1 TB HD, Intel i7 processor and an AMD Radeon R5 M335 4 GB DDR3 video card.  It is a touch screen with Windows 10.  In talking with Dell technical support, I was told that PhotoShop CS6 FONCTIONNERA NOT with Windows 10 not with the touchscreen even though technology Adobe said it will work with Windows 10 on its "required page.  Dell said that it works with WIndows 7.  I'm confused.  The Adobe forums seem to suggest that Photoshop CS6 will work, so with touch screen and WIndows 10, is there something in the specifications of laptop above Dell that suggests that I'm having a problem?  Will it be buggy?  PhotoShop CS6 will work only with a mouse and not the touch screen?  Is this a problem with the video card? I can't find enough information to feel confident about ordering this Dell laptop forums.  I can go to the 7000 series with a 4 GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960 M graphics, but I'm not a gamer.

  • Infinite loop of "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and "Windows Explorer restarts" made my phone useless

I started to get an infinite loop of these two errors on my laptop, as soon as the desktop and start menu appear, which means that I can't do anything on my laptop. He began to arrive shortly after downloading an update for Adobe AIR (updated automatically via Tweetdeck) and an error appeared when saying the installation was damaged and I should reinstall/repair it.

The problem is that this error loop start instantly as soon as the main office and start bar appears, so I can't do anything, let alone try to uninstall it or try to go online and find a program that would help. I tried to boot up the laptop in each of the three versions of Safe Mode, and errors appeared again each time. I also managed to find my Vista backup drive came with my laptop when I bought and performed a startup repair, but he did find something wrong. Then, I thought I might as well try a diagnosis of memory, but that no longer works. I also tried several different system restore points, but the question begins always at the same time, a lot of time.

The only thing I can think to do is a clean install of Vista via my backup disk, but stupid me didn't save a workload I need to keep. Oh, and if you're wondering how I write this because my laptop is now effectively useless, I'm borrowing an old of my father.

Don't know if this is important either, but it's a Dell XPS M1530 Vista Home Premium 32 bit and I had it for about two and a half years with only a handful of problems. I probably would say that this has never happened before, either.
