XPS 15 - taken of headphones do not work

Bought a new xps15 a few months ago and have been very happy with it so far - but! I travel a fair bit type and has recently invested in a together pretty expensive headphones join my new laptop in-flight. Much to my dismay, helmet shots don't seem to work - I tried a few different helmets, but no joy.

If anyone can help, I hope theres a simple solution that I really don't want the hassle of sending the laptop for repairs...

If the Realtek audio driver is not installed, then install it. You can have audio without it, but the catch will not work all right.

If it is currently installed then uninstall it (go to start > Control Panel > uninstall a program) and download a new copy and install it. You can tell if it is installed if you see the word 'Realtek' in the properties sound, similar to this:

While you are in the properties you can right click on "Speakers" and then select "Set up speakers" to make sure that the configuration is correct.

    Please check if the headphones work fine or not with other computers.

    If so, then let us know how long have you had this problem? Did you change to the computer?

    If this is not the case, the problem is with the headphones that you may need to change.

    You can try the following steps:

    Close all programs, are preparing to open the first program that will use the headphones:

    -Right click on the Volume icon and select playback devices.
    -Select the headset as default device and open the program that you want to use this device, it will play on the current default device.

    The program will continue to play through the headset.

    NOTE: If the head phones are not displayed, you will need to select the option to view the disabled devices and disconnected devices and select head phones from the list and set its default value.

    After back and let us know if it helped to solve your problem.

  • Dell Inspiron 7559 - headphones do not work

    Hey everybody,

    I was with my Dell Inspiron 7559 this weekend and suddenly stop the audio of my helmet. I had no problems during the first month I got the laptop and audio still pregnant works very well. When I plug in the headphones the dialog box also don't watch not asking questions on the audio device connected to the port. I know the headset works on my phone, and I tried uninstalling the Realtek audio driver and using the native driver. Nothing seems to work. Someone at - it suggestions? I'm grateful for any help!

    Thanks for posting.

    Have you tried another set of headphones?  The 7559 decision-making is a composite, which means that the headphones and microphones can be inserted into the same taken.  So if your current headphones are not lining up with the plug, so they will not show.

    Some customers have tried a different approach by purchasing one of these dividers, which seem to work pretty well, and they are inexpensive.

  • Omen: OMEN portable headphones do not work

    My headhpones does not work on all new HP Omen.  I already bought this laptop once before (and then spilled a drink on) and my helmet has worked on this laptop.  They do not work on this new one.  I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the audio driver from the HP website.  Still does not work.  I used a variety of headsets, more regular, of game (with a usb accessory) etc. and none work.

    Sound does not continue out of the laptop when the headphones are connected.

    Any help would be great.

    • Have you tested the headphones on both the plug on the laptop?
    • Have you tested the headphones on another computer?

    Check and make sure that the headphones are not defective, the headphones on another computer to test.

    Make sure that the headphones are not connected on the line (headphone) jack of your sound card or computer (unless you want to be listening with headphones rather than speakers).

    If the headphones work correctly on the other computer and then run the troubleshooter of playback of the sounds from the link below and check if it helps.

  • Surface taken rt headset does not work when it is plugged is unresponsive.

    Help! My surface rt headphones won't work. There is no click when I plug it in, it also does not. I want to listen to music and watch videos with could disturb other people around me.   • XPS One 2710 - Touch screen DOES not work

    My touch screen is not available on my 2710.  It worked fine for a very long time.

    Calibration is not available... System-> about said "no pen or touch input is available for this view."

    I noticed after I upgraded to Windows 10.   (but this is not necessarily the exact time fell out, I don't use it much)

    Then I downgraded back to 8.   Isn't there.   Figured I might as well go back to Windows 10.

    I did other things within the same rough period.   BIOS upgrade to A12.   Modified by some drivers, etc...

    I tried drivers, controlled at the touch of a cable on the motherboard... but did not have a single not forwards.

    Would love to hear some suggestions or ideas.

    My 2710 XPS with touch monitor WORKS.  I did have a problem at all, even at the Vernissage of builds. I think that the missing element is the Dell OSD Application, which can be downloaded here: link

    I did a clean install of Windows 10, do not know if it matters.  Also, I went and installed all the drivers from Dell as well. I recommend to enter your service tag to get the specific drivers for your configuration.  Select Windows 8.1 in the menu drop-down.

    Since the 2720 is supported by Dell, I also installed some drivers select here.  I don't remember the those who precisely.

    I don't know what is the Dell policy on programs like this, but the free version of DVDFab Passkey () should replace the HDCP thing and allow you to use NERO.
